A shopping cart comprising: a basket including an upper edge defining a mouth of the basket, the mouth including four corners; and a handle, separate and independent from the basket, including: a frame generally aligned vertically above, and spaced apart from, the mouth of the basket and defining a substantially continuous loop arranged in a shape that substantially matches a shape of the mouth of the basket; and four first connecting portions extending from the frame of the handle and spaced apart from each other, with each respective first connecting portion of the frame of the handle connected to one of the respective corners of the mouth of the basket. 2. The shopping cart of claim 1 wherein each of the loop and the mouth of the basket comprise a generally rectangular shape. 3. The shopping cart of claim 1 wherein the basket comprises: a pair of side panels being generally parallel to each other and spaced from each other; and a front panel extending between, and being generally perpendicular to, the side panels, wherein the substantially continuous loop of the frame is aligned in generally the same plane as the respective side panels and the front panel. 4. The shopping cart of claim 1 wherein the basket comprises: four second connecting portions extending from the corners of the mouth of the basket and connected to the four respective first connecting portions of the frame of the handle. 5. The shopping cart of claim 4 wherein the respective four first connecting portions of the handle are removably connected to the four respective second connecting portions of the basket. 6. The shopping cart of claim 5 wherein each respective first connecting portion comprises a prong and each respective second connecting portion of the mouth of the basket comprises a slot for removably receiving the prong of the respective first connecting portions. 7. The shopping cart of claim 1 wherein the mouth of the basket comprises four second connecting portions arranged at each of four corners of the mouth of the basket and configured for removable connection to the respective four first connecting portions. 8. The shopping cart of claim 1 wherein the handle comprises at least one portion having a generally circular cross-sectional shape. 9. The shopping cart of claim 1 wherein the handle comprises a single unitary member made from a plastic material. 10. The shopping cart of claim 1 and comprising: a base connected to a bottom portion of the basket and supporting a plurality of wheels for locomotion of the cart, the handle being independent and separate from the base. 11. The shopping cart of claim 1 wherein the basket comprises: a front portion; a rear portion; a pair of side panels being generally parallel to each other and spaced apart from each other, wherein each respective side panel and the frame of the handle define a side elongate slot having a length substantially the same as a length of each respective side panel wherein each respective side elongate slot extends between one respective corner of the mouth of the basket at the front portion of the basket and one respective corner of the mouth of the basket at the rear portion of the basket; a front panel extending between, and being generally perpendicular to, the side panels, wherein the front panel and the frame of the handle define a front elongate slot extending between two respective corners of the mouth of the basket at the front portion of the basket and having a length substantially the same as a length of the front panel; and a rear gate extending between the respective side panels and positioned opposite from the front panel. 12. The shopping cart of claim 11 wherein the frame of the handle extends rearwardly away from, and is spaced apart from, the rear gate of the basket to define a rear elongate slot wherein the rear elongate slot extends between two respective corners of the mouth of the basket at the rear portion of the basket. 13. A shopping cart basket comprising: a container including a generally vertical front portion, and a pair of generally vertical opposed side portions, wherein the front side portion extends between and is arranged generally perpendicular to the opposed side portions; and an upper portion comprising a panoramic grasping mechanism including a plurality of elongate slots, the respective elongate slots formed along an upper edge of the container and comprising a first single elongate slot at the front portion of the container and a second single elongate slot formed at each of the two opposed side portions of the container, respectively, wherein the first single elongate slot has a length substantially the same as a length of the front portion of the container and each respective second single elongate slot has a length substantially the same as a length of each respective side portion of the container. 14. The shopping cart basket of claim 13 wherein the upper portion of the basket comprises a frame member separate from the container and extending generally parallel to and spaced from the upper portion of the basket to define the first single elongate slot and second single elongate slots of each of the front portion and the side portions of the container, respectively. 15. The shopping cart basket of claim 14 wherein the upper portion comprises a rail and the first single elongate slot of the front portion and the respective second single elongate slots of the opposed side portions of the container are sized and shaped to receive fingers of a hand to enable grasping the rail and configured to enable sliding of the hand on the rail along substantially the entire length of any one of the front panel and the respective side panels. 16. The shopping cart basket of claim 15 wherein the rail comprises a substantially continuous loop having a generally rectangular shape that substantially matches a generally rectangular shape defined by the upper portion of the basket, the rail including a front portion aligned in generally the same vertical plane as the front portion of the container, and including a pair of opposed side portions each of which are aligned in generally the same vertical plane as the respective opposed side portions of the container. 17. A handle for a shopping cart comprising: a frame comprising a unitary member defining a substantially continuous loop; and only four connection portions extending from the frame for securing the frame to a basket of a shopping cart and configured to position the substantially continuous loop of the frame to be generally parallel to, and vertically spaced apart from, an upper portion of a basket of the shopping cart, wherein the handle is separate and independent from the basket of the shopping cart, and further wherein the handle is configured to enable a user to continuously slide a hand around the frame from one respective connection portion to another respective connection portion of the handle without releasing the user's grip on the handle. 18. The handle of claim 17 wherein the respective connection portions are configured to enable the frame of the handle to be generally parallel to a longitudinal axis of a wheeled base of the shopping cart. 19. The handle of claim 17 wherein the loop comprises a generally rectangular shape and is sized to substantially match a size and shape of a mouth of a basket of a shopping cart on which the handle is connectable. 20. A shopping cart comprising: a basket including an upper edge defining a mouth of the basket, the basket including a pair of opposite side panels and a front panel; and a handle, separate and independent from the basket, the handle connected to the basket to form a plurality of grasping zones including: a front grasping zone defined by an elongate space between the handle and the front panel of the basket, wherein the front grasping zone extends substantially the entire length of the front panel of the basket; and two side grasping zones with each respective side grasping zone defined by an elongate space between the handle and each respective side panel of the basket, wherein each respective side grasping zone extends substantially the entire length of one of the respective side panels of the basket. 21. The shopping cart of claim 20, comprising a rear gate pivotally connected between the respective side panels at the rear portion of the basket wherein the plurality of grasping zones comprises a rear grasping zone defined by an elongate space between the handle and the rear gate, the rear grasping zone extending substantially the entire length of the rear gate wherein the rear grasping zone extends rearwardly from an upper edge of the rear gate of the basket. 22. The shopping cart of claim 20 wherein the mouth of the basket defines four corners and the handle is connected to the basket only at the respective four corners of the mouth of the basket.
