We claim: 1. A beverage can, comprising: a can body made from aluminum having a gauge thickness of 0.01075 inches or thinner, said can body having a bottom profile, wherein (1) the bottom profile comprises a structure which is not reformed in that the forming of said can body is completed without performing a step of reforming of said bottom profile to increase the strength of said bottom profile to meet customer requirements for can growth, drop and buckle, (2) said can passes a drop test of at least 5½ inches; and (3) said bottom profile of said can body includes a generally hemispherical, concave dome and a nose portion peripheral to the dome providing a circumferential stand for the can body; wherein said generally hemispherical, concave dome comprises an inner radius R1a and an outer radius R1b, the inner radius R1a being greater than 1.5 inches and less than or equal to about 2.0 inches and the outer radius R1b being between 0.2 and 1.0 inches. 2. The beverage can of claim 1, wherein said bottom profile comprises a dome corner radius R2 connecting said dome radius R1b in said bottom profile to a chime in said bottom profile, and wherein R2 is greater than 0.080 inches. 3. The beverage can of claim 2, wherein R2 is between 0.080 and 0.15 inches. 4. The beverage can of claim 2, wherein said chime has a chime length between 0.060 and 0.080 inches and has a positive chime angle. 5. The beverage can of claim 4, wherein said nose portion comprises inner and outer nose radii, and wherein said inner and outer nose radii are between 0.050 and about 0.060 inches. 6. The beverage can of claim 1, wherein said nose portion has a radius R3, and wherein R3 is at least 0.048 inches. 7. The beverage can of claim 1, wherein said nose portion has inner and outer radii R3i and R3o, respectively, and wherein one of the radii R3i and R3o is 0.042 inches and the other of the radii is at least 0.042 inches. 8. The beverage can of claim 1, wherein said bottom profile further comprises a dome corner radius R2, wherein said dome tangentially intersects said dome corner radius R2 at a point R, and wherein the included angle u between lines L1 and L2 is between about 45 degrees and about 55 degrees, where line L1 extends from the center of curvature of the dome corner radius R2 in a direction perpendicular to a longitudinal axis of said can body, and line L2 extends from the center of curvature of the dome corner radius and intersects said point R. 9. A drawn and ironed can body, comprising a generally cylindrical side wall, a bottom portion integral with said side wall and closing off one end of said can body, said bottom portion having a profile comprising a stand portion having an inner nose radius and an outer nose radius, a chime adjacent to said stand portion and having a chime length, the chime having a positive chime angle, a dome portion having first and second radii of curvature R1a and R1b, and a dome corner radius R2 joining said chime to said dome and having a dome corner radius of curvature, and wherein first radius R1a is greater than 1.5 inches and less than or equal to about 2.0 inches and second radius R1b is between 0.2 and 1.0 inches; wherein said dome second radius R1b intersects said dome corner radius at a point R, and wherein the included angle α between first and second lines L1 and L2 is between about 45 degrees and about 55 degrees, where first line L1 extends from the center of curvature of the dome corner radius in a direction perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of said can body, and second line L2 extends from the center of curvature of the dome corner radius and intersects said point R; and wherein said dome corner radius is between 0.06 and 0.12 inches, said chime length is between 0.060 and 0.080 inches, said inner and outer nose radii are between 0.045 and about 0.060 inches. 10. The can body of claim 9, wherein said drawn and ironed can body is made from aluminum having a gauge of 0.01075 inches or less.
