The cable protection system of claim 1, wherein the connector of the first ramp is substantially vertically oriented. 3. The cable protection system of claim 1, wherein the aperture defined in the cable protector is slot shaped. 4. The cable protection system of claim 1, wherein, when the connector of the first ramp is inserted into the aperture in the cable protector, the male coupling structure engages the female coupling recess to resist vertical movement of the connector relative to the cable protector. 5. The cable protection system of claim 1, wherein the male coupling structure is a protuberance formed on a surface of the connector that extends in a direction substantially perpendicular to a direction of insertion of the connector into the aperture, and the female coupling recess is sized to compliment the dimensions of the protuberance. 6. The cable protection system of claim 1, further comprising a cover structure pivotally attached to the cable protector. 7. The cable protection system of claim 1, further comprising a second ramp removably attachable to a second side of the cable protector. 8. The cable protection system of claim 7, further comprising: a substantially vertically oriented aperture defined in the second ramp; at least one connector formed on the second side of the cable protector that is insertable into the aperture in the second ramp, the connector of the cable protector extending from a surface of the cable protector in a substantially vertical direction. 9. The cable protection system of claim 7, further comprising: a first edge rail removably attachable to a first end of the first ramp; a second edge rail removably attachable to a first end of the second ramp; a center edge rail positioned between and removably attachable to the first and second edge rails. 10. The cable protection system of claim 1, further comprising: a second cable protector; at least one substantially vertically oriented aperture defined in a side of the second cable protector; at least one connector formed on the cable protector that is insertable into the aperture in the second cable protector, the connector of the cable protector extending from a surface of the cable protector in a substantially vertical direction. 11. The cable protection system of claim 7, wherein at least one of the first ramp and the second ramp laterally overlap an additional ramp or an additional cable protector. 12. The cable protection system of claim 9, wherein at least one of the first ramp and the second ramp comprise a substantially planar top surface and an angled bottom surface. 13. The cable protection system of claim 1, wherein the cable protector comprises: a pair of substantially vertically extending opposing side walls; a cover structure positioned on the upper surfaces of, and unitarily formed with, the opposing side walls. 14. The cable protection system of claim 1, wherein at least one of the cable protector and the first ramp comprise a substantially transparent material capable of being illuminated by a light source. 15. A cable protector, comprising: at least one channel extending between opposing ends of the cable protector, the channel structured to receive at least one cable; at least one substantially vertically oriented connector that extends from a surface of the cable protector in a substantially vertical direction; a male coupling structure provided on the connector; wherein the male coupling structure is sized to engage a complimentary female coupling recess defined in an aperture in an opposing structure to create a snap-fit connection between the cable protector and the opposing structure. 16. The cable protector of claim 15, wherein, when the connector of the cable protector is inserted into the aperture in the opposing structure, the male coupling structure engages the female coupling recess to resist vertical movement of the connector relative to the opposing structure. 17. The cable protector of claim 15, wherein the male coupling structure is a protuberance formed on a surface of the connector that extends in a direction substantially perpendicular to a direction of insertion of the connector into the aperture, and is sized to compliment the dimensions of the female coupling recess. 18. The cable protector of claim 15, further comprising a cover structure pivotally attached to the cable protector. 19. A cable protection system, comprising: at least one cable protector; at least one channel extending between opposing ends of the cable protector, the channel structured to receive at least one cable; at least one substantially vertically oriented aperture defined in a first side of the cable protector; a female coupling recess defined within the aperture in the cable protector; a first ramp comprising at least one connector insertable into the aperture in the cable protector; a male coupling structure provided on the connector of the first ramp; wherein when the connector of the first ramp is inserted into the aperture in the cable protector, the male coupling structure engages the female coupling recess to create a snap-fit connection between the first ramp and the cable protector; wherein when the connector of the first ramp is inserted into the aperture in the cable protector, the male coupling structure engages the female coupling recess to resist vertical movement of the connector relative to the cable protector. 20. The cable protection system of claim 19, wherein the connector of the first ramp is substantially vertically oriented. 21. The cable protection system of claim 19, wherein the aperture defined in the cable protector is slot shaped. 22. The cable protection system of claim 19, wherein the male coupling structure is a protuberance formed on a surface of the connector and the female coupling recess is sized to compliment the dimensions of the protuberance. 23. The cable protection system of claim 1, further comprising a cover structure pivotally attached to the cable protector. 24. A cable protector, comprising: at least one channel extending between opposing ends of the cable protector, the channel structured to receive at least one cable; at least one substantially vertically oriented connector; a male coupling structure provided on the connector; wherein the male coupling structure is sized to engage a complimentary female coupling recess defined in an aperture in an opposing structure to create a snap-fit connection between the cable protector and the opposing structure; wherein when the connector of the cable protector is inserted into the aperture in the opposing structure, the male coupling structure engages the female coupling recess to resist vertical movement of the connector relative to the opposing structure. 25. The cable protector of claim 24, wherein the male coupling structure is a protuberance formed on a surface of the connector and is sized to compliment the dimensions of the female coupling recess. 26. The cable protector of claim 24, further comprising a cover structure pivotally attached to the cable protector. 27. A cable protection system, comprising: at least one cable protector defining at least one channel extending between opposing ends of the cable protector, the channel structured to receive at least one cable; at least one substantially vertically oriented aperture defined in a first side of the cable protector; a ramp comprising at least one connector insertable into the aperture in the cable protector; wherein when the connector of the ramp is inserted into the aperture in the cable protector, a portion of the connector engages a portion of the aperture to resist vertical movement of the cable protector relative to the ramp. 28. The cable protection system of claim 27, wherein the connector extends from a surface of the ramp in a substantially vertical direction. 29. The cable protection system of claim 27, further comprising: a female coupling recess defined within the aperture in the cable protector; wherein when the connector of the first ramp is inserted into the aperture in the cable protector, a portion of the connector engages the female coupling recess to create a snap-fit connection between the first ramp and the cable protector. 30. The cable protection system of claim 27, further comprising: a male coupling structure provided on the connector of the first ramp; wherein when the connector of the first ramp is inserted into the aperture in the cable protector, the male coupling structure engages a portion of the aperture to create a snap-fit connection between the first ramp and the cable protector.
