An equipment storm shield system, comprising: an equipment pad adapted to support the equipment; a plurality of anchors located along a first portion of a perimeter of the pad; an elongated spool of flexible membrane material rotatably mounted in a spool housing, the spool housing being mounted on a second portion of the perimeter of the pad; an elongated opening in the spool housing adapted to permit a first longitudinal edge of the spool of flexible membrane material to be pulled through the opening to remove a first predetermined sheet portion of flexible membrane material from the spool of flexible membrane material, wherein the first predetermined sheet portion is pulled over the equipment parked on the pad and is retained in position using one or more of the plurality of anchors and wherein the first predetermined sheet portion serves as a barrier for protecting the equipment against a storming condition; and an engagement member connected to the first predetermined sheet portion of membrane material, wherein each of the plurality of anchors includes a metal frame member permanently mounted in a trench and having an opening adapted to accept a corresponding engagement member. 2. The equipment storm shield of claim 1, wherein the first spool of flexible membrane material includes at least one of nylon, canvas, plastic, natural materials, synthetic materials, knitted materials, woven materials and chemically coated materials. 3. The equipment storm shield of claim 1, wherein the first predetermined sheet portion of membrane material further includes a first adjacent edge adapted for coupling to a top edge region of a second portion of flexible membrane material and a bottom edge region of the second portion of flexible membrane material being retained in position using one or more of the plurality of anchors. 4. The equipment storm shield of claim 3, wherein the first adjacent edge further includes a first zipper portion and a first flap and the top edge region of the second portion of flexible membrane material further includes a second zipper portion and a second flap, wherein the first zipper portion and the second zipper portion are coupled, the first flap is releasably secured to the top edge region of the second portion of flexible membrane material, and the second flap is releasably secured to the first portion of flexible membrane material, and wherein the first portion and the second portion of flexible membrane material enclose a first portion of the equipment to substantially preclude airflow therethrough. 5. The equipment storm shield of claim 4, wherein the first predetermined sheet portion of membrane material further includes a second adjacent edge adapted for coupling to a top edge region of a third portion of flexible membrane material and a bottom edge region of the third portion of flexible membrane material being retained in position using one or more of the plurality of anchors. 6. The equipment storm shield of claim 5, wherein the second adjacent edge further includes a third zipper portion and a third flap and the top edge region of the third portion of flexible membrane material further includes a fourth zipper portion and a fourth flap, wherein the third zipper portion and the fourth zipper portion are coupled, the third flap is releasably secured to the top edge region of the third portion of flexible membrane material, and the fourth flap is releasably secured to the first portion of flexible membrane material, and wherein the first portion and third portion of flexible membrane material enclose a second portion of the equipment to substantially preclude airflow therethrough. 7. The equipment storm shield of claim 1, wherein the equipment includes at least one of a helicopter, jet aircraft, vehicle and computer equipment. 8. The equipment storm shield of claim 1, wherein the equipment pad is mounted to a structure unconnected to the equipment. 9. The equipment storm shield of claim 8, wherein the equipment pad is a concrete slab anchored at least partially within the unconnected structure. 10. The equipment storm shield of claim 1, wherein the first predetermined sheet portion is removably attached to the spool. 11. The equipment storm shield of claim 1, further including a second portion of flexible membrane material removably coupled to the first predetermined sheet portion along a first adjacent edge of the first predetermined sheet portion. 12. The equipment storm shield of claim 11, further including a third portion of flexible membrane material removably coupled to the first predetermined sheet portion along a second adjacent edge of the first predetermined sheet portion. 13. An equipment storm shield system, comprising: an equipment pad adapted to support the equipment; a plurality of anchors located along a first portion of a perimeter of the pad; an elongated spool of flexible membrane material rotatably mounted in a spool housing, the spool housing being mounted on a second portion of the perimeter of the pad; and an elongated opening in the spool housing adapted to permit a first longitudinal edge of the spool of flexible membrane material to be pulled through the opening to remove a first predetermined sheet portion of flexible membrane material from the spool of flexible membrane material, wherein the first predetermined sheet portion is pulled over the equipment parked on the pad and is retained in position using one or more of the plurality of anchors, wherein the first predetermined sheet portion of membrane material further includes a first adjacent edge adapted for coupling to a top edge region of a second portion of flexible membrane material and a bottom edge region of the second portion of flexible membrane material being retained in position using one or more of the plurality of anchors, and wherein the first predetermined sheet portion serves as a barrier for protecting the equipment against a storming condition. 14. The equipment storm shield of claim 13, wherein the first adjacent edge further includes a first zipper portion and a first flap and the top edge region of the second portion of flexible membrane material further includes a second zipper portion and a second flap, wherein the first zipper portion and the second zipper portion are coupled, the first flap is releasably secured to the top edge region of the second portion of flexible membrane material, and the second flap is releasably secured to the first portion of flexible membrane material, and wherein the first portion and the second portion of flexible membrane material enclose a first portion of the equipment to substantially preclude airflow therethrough. 15. The equipment storm shield of claim 14, wherein the first predetermined sheet portion of membrane material further includes a second adjacent edge adapted for coupling to a top edge region of a third portion of flexible membrane material and a bottom edge region of the third portion of flexible membrane material being retained in position using one or more of the plurality of anchors. 16. The equipment storm shield of claim 15, wherein the second adjacent edge further includes a third zipper portion and a third flap and the top edge region of the third portion of flexible membrane material further includes a fourth zipper portion and a fourth flap, wherein the third zipper portion and the fourth zipper portion are coupled, the third flap is releasably secured to the top edge region of the third portion of flexible membrane material, and the fourth flap is releasably secured to the first portion of flexible membrane material, and wherein the first portion and third portion of flexible membrane material enclose a second portion of the equipment to substantially preclude airflow therethrough. 17. The equipment storm shield of claim 13, wherein the equipment includes at least one of a helicopter, jet aircraft, vehicle and computer equipment. 18. The equipment storm shield of claim 13, wherein the first predetermined sheet portion is removably attached to the spool. 19. The equipment storm shield of claim 13, further including a second portion of flexible membrane material removably coupled to the first predetermined sheet portion along a first adjacent edge of the first predetermined sheet portion. 20. The equipment storm shield of claim 19, further including a third portion of flexible membrane material removably coupled to the first predetermined sheet portion along a second adjacent edge of the first predetermined sheet portion.
