A method of delivering a first drug to a subject's brain via the subject's spinal canal, the method comprising: implanting an infusion pump and a catheter in a patient, the catheter being operably coupled to the infusion pump; and infusing through an infusion section of the catheter, via the infusion pump at a rate of less than 5 ml per hour, a first hypobaric solution comprising the first drug to the subject's cerebrospinal fluid within a first location in the subject's spinal canal, wherein the method further comprises heating a solution comprising the first drug to produce the first hypobaric solution and wherein the solution is heated in the catheter. 2. The method of claim 1, further comprising administering a second solution comprising a second drug to a second spinal location of the subject, wherein the first and second drug are the same or different. 3. The method of claim 2, wherein the second solution is cooled to render the second solution hyperbaric. 4. The method of claim 3, wherein the second solution is cooled in the catheter. 5. A method of delivering a first drug to a subject's brain via the subject's spinal canal, the method comprising: implanting an infusion pump and a catheter in a patient, the catheter being operably coupled to the infusion pump; infusing through an infusion section of the catheter, via the infusion pump at a rate of less than 5 ml per hour, a first hypobaric solution comprising the first drug to the subject's cerebrospinal fluid within a first location in the subject's spinal canal; measuring the density of the patient's cerebrospinal fluid to verify that the first solution is hypobaric; and heating a solution comprising the first drug to produce the first hypobaric solution, wherein the first solution is heated in the catheter. 6. A method of delivering a first drug to a subject's brain via the subject's spinal canal, the method comprising: implanting an infusion pump and a catheter in a patient, the catheter being operably coupled to the infusion pump; infusing through an infusion section of the catheter, via the infusion pump at a rate of less than 5 ml per hour, a first hypobaric solution comprising the first drug to the subject's cerebrospinal fluid within a first location in the subject's spinal canal; measuring the density of the patient's cerebrospinal fluid to verify that the first solution is hypobaric; administering a second solution comprising a second drug to a second spinal location of the subject; and cooling the second solution in the catheter to render the second solution hyperbaric, wherein the first and second drug are the same or different.
