An aerosol assembly for dispensing texture material. The aerosol assembly comprises a main container assembly, a secondary container, and a conduit. The main container assembly comprises a main container containing texture material, an aerosol valve assembly, and an actuator member. The aerosol valve assembly is operable in a normally closed configuration and an open configuration. Displacement of the actuator member places the aerosol valve assembly from the normally closed configuration to the open configuration. The conduit is connected between the main container and the secondary container to allow fluid flow between the main container and the secondary container. When the actuator member is displaced to place the aerosol valve assembly into the open configuration, the pressurized fluid within the secondary container enters the primary container to force texture material out of the main container.

An aerosol assembly for dispensing texture material in a coating on a portion of a target surface substantially to match a pre-existing texture pattern on the target surface, comprising: a main container assembly comprising a main container containing texture material; an aerosol valve assembly operable in a normally closed configuration and an open configuration, where the aerosol valve assembly is supported by the main container such that the aerosol valve assembly substantially prevents fluid from flowing out of the main container assembly when the aerosol valve assembly is in the closed configuration, and allows fluid to flow out of the main container when the aerosol valve assembly is in the open configuration; an actuator member, where displacement of the actuator member places the aerosol valve assembly from the normally closed configuration to the open configuration; and an outlet structure defining at least one outlet opening, where the at least one outlet opening defines a plurality of cross-sectional areas, and each of the cross-sectional areas is associated with a predetermined texture pattern; a secondary container for containing pressurized fluid; a conduit connected between the main container and the secondary container to allow fluid flow between the main container and the secondary container; whereby the predetermined texture pattern associated with a selected cross-sectional area substantially matches the pre-existing texture pattern; when the actuator member is displaced to place the aerosol valve assembly into the open configuration, the pressurized fluid within the secondary container enters the primary container to force texture material out of the main container through the outlet opening having the selected cross-sectional area; and the texture material is deposited on the portion of the target surface and allowed to dry to form the coating. 2. An aerosol assembly as recited in claim 1, in which the outlet structure comprises two or more outlet members each defining an outlet opening, where at least one outlet member is a selected outlet member defining the selected cross-sectional area; and the selected outlet member is arranged such that the texture material flowing out of the main container passes through the selected outlet member. 3. An aerosol assembly as recited in claim 1, in which the outlet structure is an outlet member that defines the two or more outlet openings, where each outlet opening defines one of the cross-sectional areas. 4. An aerosol assembly as recited in claim 3, in which the outlet member is disc-shaped. 5. An aerosol assembly as recited in claim 3, in which the outlet member is cylindrical. 6. An aerosol assembly as recited in claim 3, in which: the actuator member defines an actuator passageway, where texture material flowing out of the main container flows through the actuator passageway; the outlet member is rotatably attached to the actuator member; and the outlet member is rotated such that texture material flowing along the actuator passageway flows through the selected outlet opening. 7. An aerosol assembly as recited in claim 1, in which the outlet structure comprises a resilient member defining an outlet opening, where the resilient member is deformed to define the plurality of cross-sectional areas. 8. An aerosol assembly as recited in claim 7, further comprising a collar movably mounted on the actuator member, in which: the actuator member defines an actuator passageway, where texture material flowing out of the main container flows through the actuator passageway; the collar is movably attached to the actuator member such that movement of the collar deforms the resilient member. 9. An aerosol assembly as recited in claim 1, further comprising a control valve assembly, where the control valve assembly is arranged to control flow of pressurized fluid between the main container and the secondary container. 10. An aerosol assembly as recited in claim 1, in which the pressurized fluid is a compressed inert gas. 11. An aerosol assembly as recited in claim 10, in which the inert gas is at least one of air and nitrogen. 12. A method of dispensing texture material in a coating on a portion of a target surface substantially to match a pre-existing texture pattern on the target surface, comprising the steps of: providing a main container; disposing texture material within the main container; providing an aerosol valve assembly operable in a normally closed configuration and an open configuration; supporting the aerosol valve assembly on the main container such that the aerosol valve assembly substantially prevents fluid from flowing out of the main container assembly when the aerosol valve assembly is in the closed configuration, and allows fluid to flow out of the main container when the aerosol valve assembly is in the open configuration; arranging an actuator such that displacement of the actuator member places the aerosol valve assembly from the normally closed configuration to the open configuration; providing an outlet structure defining at least one outlet opening, where the at least one outlet opening defines a plurality of cross-sectional areas, each of the cross-sectional areas is associated with a predetermined texture pattern, and the predetermined texture pattern associated with a selected cross-sectional area substantially matches the pre-existing texture pattern; mounting the outlet structure relative to the actuator; providing a secondary container; disposing pressurized fluid within the secondary container; connecting the main container and the secondary container; allowing pressurized fluid to flow from the secondary container to the main container; displacing the actuator member to place the aerosol valve assembly into the open configuration such that pressurized fluid within the main container forces texture material out of the main container the outlet opening having the selected cross-sectional area; depositing the texture material on the portion of the target surface; and allowing the texture material to dry to form the coating. 13. A method as recited in claim 12, in which the step of providing the outlet structure comprises the steps of: providing a plurality of outlet members; and arranging a selected one of the outlet members to define the selected cross-sectional area. 14. A method as recited in claim 13, further comprising the steps of: forming a bore in the actuator member; and frictionally engaging the selected outlet member with the bore to secure the selected tubular member to the actuator member. 15. A method as recited in claim 12, in which the step of providing the outlet structure comprises the steps of: providing an outlet member; forming a plurality of outlet passageways in the outlet member; and arranging the outlet member such that a selected one of the outlet passageways defines the selected cross-sectional area. 16. A method as recited in claim 15, in which the step of providing the outlet member comprises the step of forming the outlet member in the shape of a disc. 17. A method as recited in claim 15, in which the step of providing the outlet member comprises the step of forming the outlet member in the shape of a cylinder. 18. A method as recited in claim 12, in which the step of providing the outlet structure comprises the steps of: providing a resilient member defining the outlet opening; and deforming the resilient member to define the selected cross-sectional area. 19. A method as recited in claim 18, in which: the step of providing the actuator member comprises the step of forming an actuator passageway in the actuator member, where texture material flowing out of the main container flows through the actuator passageway; and the step of deforming the resilient member comprises the step of movably mounting a collar onto the actuator member such that movement of the collar deforms the resilient member. 20. A method as recited in claim 12, further comprising the step of controlling flow of pressurized fluid between the main container and the secondary container. 21. A method as recited in claim 12, in which the step of arranging pressurized fluid within the secondary container comprises the step of arranging compressed inert gas within the secondary container. 22. A method as recited in claim 21, in which the step of arranging compressed inert gas within the secondary container comprises the step of arranging at least one air and nitrogen within the secondary container.
