A cable raceway system includes a device bracket and a device cover for outfitting an elongate cable raceway with a downward facing electrical device. The raceway, configured for attachment to a wall surface, is of the type having an interior wireway. The device bracket is cooperative with the raceway for access to the wireway, and includes a device support for connecting an electrical device to the bracket, in a downward facing orientation with respect to the raceway. More particularly, when an electrical device is attached to the device support, an access face of the electrical device is oriented generally perpendicularly with respect to the wall surface. The cover cooperates with the bracket and raceway for covering the bracket, and has a faceplate portion complementary to the electrical device.

What is claimed is: 1. A cable raceway system comprising: an elongate cable raceway having at least one interior wireway and a rear surface for mounting the raceway to a wall; a device bracket cooperative with the raceway for access to said at least one wireway, said bracket having a device support
What is claimed is: 1. A cable raceway system comprising: an elongate cable raceway having at least one interior wireway and a rear surface for mounting the raceway to a wall; a device bracket cooperative with the raceway for access to said at least one wireway, said bracket having a device support for connection of an electrical device to the bracket, wherein the device support is configured for an access face of the electrical device to be oriented generally perpendicularly with respect to the raceway rear surface when the electrical device is connected to the device support; and a device cover cooperative with the bracket and raceway for covering the bracket, said cover having a faceplate portion complementary to the electrical device, wherein the device bracket further comprises: a wall-mount plate for attaching the device bracket to the wall below said cable raceway; and a raceway access plate connected to the wall-mount plate for covering a front portion of the cable raceway, said raceway access plate including at least one access gateway for selective access to the interior wireway of the cable raceway. 2. The cable raceway system of claim 1 wherein: the device bracket further comprises a step portion interconnecting the wall-mount plate and raceway access plate, said step portion having a width corresponding to a depth of the raceway, wherein the wall-mount plate and raceway access plate are generally parallel to one another. 3. The cable raceway system of claim 1 wherein: the device support comprises first and second opposed device connection flanges attached to one of the wall-mount plate and the raceway access plate, each of said flanges having a side extender portion connected to said one of the wall-mount plate and the raceway access plate and a tab portion connected to the side extender, said tabs of the first and second device connection flanges being spaced apart from one another for connection of the electrical device there between, wherein the tabs are generally perpendicular to the wall-mount plate for the access face of the electrical device to be oriented generally perpendicularly with respect to the raceway rear surface when the electrical device is connected to and between the tabs. 4. The cable raceway system of claim 1 wherein the cover comprises: first and second spaced-apart, generally parallel sidewalls, said sidewalls being respectively connected to opposite side edges of the cover faceplate portion and lying generally perpendicular thereto; and a front wall connected to and coextensive with the sidewalls and the faceplate portion, wherein the front wall and sidewalls extend from proximate an upper edge of the raceway access plate portion of the device bracket to down below the raceway, for covering the wall-mount plate and device support. 5. The cable raceway system of claim 4 wherein the faceplate portion of the cover is generally aligned and coextensive with the access face of the electrical device, for external user access to the electrical device. 6. The cable raceway system of claim 5 wherein the faceplate portion of the cover is oriented at an angle with respect to a plane defined by aligning rear edges of the cover sidewalls, said angle being less than about 95° and greater than about 75°. 7. The cable raceway system of claim 4 wherein the cover further comprises a cover top flange attached to a top edge of the front wall, said flange being angled rearwards for engagement with a top edge of the raceway access plate portion of the device bracket. 8. A cable raceway system comprising: an elongate cable raceway having at least one interior wireway and a rear surface for mounting the raceway to a wall; a device bracket cooperative with the raceway for access to said at least one wireway, said bracket having a device support for connection of an electrical device to the bracket, wherein the device support is configured for an access face of the electrical device to be oriented generally perpendicularly with respect to the raceway rear surface when the electrical device is connected to the device support; and a device cover cooperative with the bracket and raceway for covering the bracket, said cover having a faceplate portion complementary to the electrical device, wherein the device bracket includes a raceway access portion and a wall-mount portion connected to the raceway access portion, said raceway access portion covering a front portion of the cable raceway and said wall-mount portion extending down below the raceway for attachment of the device bracket to the wall; and the raceway access portion includes at least one access gateway for selective access to the interior wireway of the cable raceway. 9. The cable raceway system of claim 8 wherein: the cable raceway has a generally rectangular cross-section configuration; the device bracket is generally step-shaped, and includes a step portion interconnecting the raceway access portion and wall-mount portion, said raceway access portion and wall-mount portion being generally perpendicular to the step portion and generally parallel to one another; and the device support comprises first and second, spaced apart, opposed device connection flanges attached to one of said wall-mount portion, raceway access portion, and step portion, each of said connection flanges including an angled tab for the access face of the electrical device to be oriented generally perpendicularly with respect to the raceway rear surface when the electrical device is connected to and between the tabs. 10. A cable raceway system comprising: an elongate cable raceway having an interior wireway; a device bracket cooperative with the raceway for access to the wireway, wherein the device bracket is configured for an access face of an electrical device attached thereto to be oriented downwards with respect to the raceway when the electrical device is connected to the device bracket and the raceway is mounted horizontally to a wall; and a device cover cooperative with the bracket and raceway for covering the bracket, said cover having a faceplate portion complementary to the electrical device, wherein the device bracket further comprises: a wall-mount plate for attaching the device bracket to the wall below said cable raceway; and a raceway access plate connected to the wall-mount plate for covering a front portion of the cable raceway, said raceway access plate including at least one access gateway for selective access to the interior wireway of the cable raceway. 11. The cable raceway system of claim 10 wherein: the device bracket further comprises a step portion interconnecting the wall-mount plate and raceway access plate, said step portion having a width corresponding to a depth of the raceway, wherein the wall-mount plate and raceway access plate are generally parallel to one another. 12. A cable raceway system comprising: an elongate cable raceway having at least one interior wireway and a rear surface for mounting the raceway to a wall surface; and a device cover configured to be removably received on the raceway for access to said at least one interior wireway, said device cover having a faceplate portion; wherein the faceplate portion is configured so that when an electrical device is disposed in a device opening defined by the faceplate portion, an access face of the electrical device is oriented downwards when the raceway is mounted horizontally on the wall surface; and a device bracket cooperative with the raceway for selective access to said at least one wireway, said bracket having a device support for connection of the electrical device to the bracket, wherein the device support is configured for the access face of the electrical device to be oriented generally perpendicularly with respect to the wall surface when the electrical device is connected to the device support; wherein the device cover is cooperative with the bracket and raceway for covering the bracket, and wherein the device bracket further comprises: a wall-mount plate for attaching the device bracket to the wall below said cable raceway; and a raceway access plate connected to the wall-mount plate and covering a front portion of the cable raceway, said raceway access plate including at least one access gateway for selective access to the interior wireway of the cable raceway. 13. The cable raceway system of claim 12 wherein the device bracket further comprises a step portion interconnecting the wall-mount plate and raceway access plate, said step portion having a width corresponding to a depth of the raceway, wherein the wall-mount plate and raceway access plate are generally parallel to one another. 14. A downward facing device assembly for a cable raceway, said assembly comprising: a device bracket having: a wall-mount portion for attachment of the device bracket to a wall surface; and a raceway access portion connected to the wall-mount portion, said raceway access portion being configured to cover a front portion of the cable raceway when the wall-mount portion is attached to a wall surface below the cable raceway, wherein the device bracket is configured to hold an electrical device below the raceway and in an orientation where an access face of the electrical device is generally perpendicular to the wall surface; and a device cover for covering the bracket, said cover having a faceplate portion configured to align with the access face of the electrical device when the electrical device is connected to the bracket.
