What is claimed is: 1. A system, comprising: a controller connected to a sense and pulse delivery module, the controller adapted to receive signals from one or more electrodes and provide pulse instructions for delivery of pulses to the one or more electrodes; and an event window generator connecte
What is claimed is: 1. A system, comprising: a controller connected to a sense and pulse delivery module, the controller adapted to receive signals from one or more electrodes and provide pulse instructions for delivery of pulses to the one or more electrodes; and an event window generator connected to the controller, the event window generator adapted to produce event windows for cardiac contraction events, the event windows each being a function of a plurality of intervals between atrial contraction events and a heart rate trajectory being a time derivative of heart rate, wherein the controller is adapted to produce an instruction for delivering a pulse if a cardiac contraction event is not detected during an event window beginning from a former cardiac contraction event. 2. The system of claim 1, wherein the controller is adapted to produce an instruction for delivering an atrial pulse if the cardiac contraction event is not detected during the event window beginning from the former cardiac contraction event. 3. The system of claim 1, wherein the controller is adapted to produce an instruction for delivering a ventricular pulse if the cardiac contraction event is not detected during an event window beginning from the former cardiac contraction event. 4. The system of claim 1, wherein the event windows are decreased for increases in the heart rate trajectory. 5. The system of claim 4, wherein the event windows are increased for decreases in the heart rate trajectory. 6. The system of claim 1, further comprising at least one sensor, coupled to the controller, wherein the event windows are each a function of signals from the at least one sensor. 7. The system of claim 6, wherein the at least one sensor comprises at least one of a minute ventilation detection system and an accelerometer. 8. The system of claim 6, wherein the event window generator is adjusted using exertion. 9. The system of claim 6, wherein the event window generator is adjusted using elevated heart rate. 10. The system of claim 6, wherein the event window generator is adjusted using autonomic balance. 11. The system of claim 6, wherein the event window generator is adjusted using sleep state. 12. The system of claim 6, wherein the event window generator is adjusted using a timer. 13. The system of claim 1, further comprising a morphology detection system connected to the controller, the morphology detection system adapted to detect complexes indicative of cardiac arrhythmia, wherein the event windows are each a function of signals from the morphology detection system. 14. The system of claim 13, wherein, if the morphology detection system detects arrhythmia trigger complexes, the event windows are decreased. 15. The system of claim 14, wherein, if the morphology detection system detects abnormal cardiac complexes, the event windows are decreased. 16. The system of claim 1, wherein the event window generator is adapted to produce the event windows each being a function of a number of intervals between the atrial contraction events, wherein the number is a function of an average heart rate. 17. The system of claim 1, wherein the event window generator is adapted to produce the event windows each being a function of a number of intervals between the atrial contraction events, wherein the number is a function of a standard deviation of a predetermined number of intervals between the atrial contraction events. 18. The system of claim 1, wherein the event window generator is adapted to calculate the event windows each being a weighted average of the intervals between the atrial contraction events. 19. The system of claim 1, wherein the event window generator is adapted to calculate the event windows using interpolation from the intervals between the atrial contraction events. 20. The system of claim 1, wherein the event window generator is adapted to produce the event windows from a linear regression of the intervals between the atrial contraction events.
