The invention is a system for facilitating credit card transactions. The system operates in a setting that includes a merchant platform, a System platform and a subscriber mobile device. The merchant platform is in electronic data communications with the System platform and the subscriber mobile device is in electronic data communication with the System platform. The merchant platform receives transaction information though voice communications from a subscriber and a portion of the transaction information is sent electronically to the System platform. The System platform electronically communicates a subset of the portion to the mobile communications device, and the mobile communications device sending data related to account information to the System platform. The System platform electronically transmitting this account information to a Processor for payment authorization.

The invention claimed is: 1. A machine implemented method for facilitating a commercial transaction between a consumer having an associated mobile communication device, and a merchant having an associated merchant computing device, the method comprising: initiating a request on behalf of the consumer, by the mobile communication device, to the merchant computing device, to conduct the commercial transaction with the merchant; receiving in response to the request, by the mobile communication device, a data message having selected transaction information from a system computing device that is different from the merchant computing device; and transmitting, by the mobile communication device, a data message having authorization information to the system computing device to request that the system computing device provide personal information of the consumer to the merchant, and to enable consummation of the commercial transaction between the consumer and the merchant. 2. The method of claim 1, wherein initiating comprises providing information, audible to the consumer, identifying the commercial transaction. 3. The method of claim 1, wherein receiving comprises receiving a data message having a merchant identifier, a consumer identifier, or information identifying the commercial transaction. 4. The method of claim 1, wherein transmitting comprises transmitting a data message having an account identifier from which payment for the commercial transaction is authorized to be made. 5. The method of claim 1, further comprising requesting that the system computing device store the personal information of the consumer. 6. An apparatus for facilitating a commercial transaction between a consumer and a merchant, the apparatus comprising: a communication interface configured for voice and data communication; a processor coupled to the communication interface; and a tangible storage medium coupled to the processor, and having stored therein programming instructions that, in response to execution by the processor, cause the apparatus to initiate a request to a merchant computing device, to conduct the commercial transaction with the merchant; receive in response to the request, a data message having selected transaction information from a system computing device that is different from the merchant computing device; and transmit a data message having authorization information to the system computing device to request that the system computing device provide personal information of the consumer to the merchant, and to enable consummation of the commercial transaction. 7. The apparatus of claim 6, wherein the tangible storage medium has stored therein programming instructions that, in response to execution by the processor, cause the apparatus to request that the system computing device store the personal information of the consumer. 8. A machine implemented method for facilitating a commercial transaction between a consumer having an associated mobile communication device and a merchant having an associated merchant computing device, the method comprising: receiving by the merchant computing device, a request initiated from the mobile communication device of the consumer, to conduct a commercial transaction; transmitting in response to the request, by the merchant computing device, the request in a data message to a system computing device communicatively couplable to the merchant computing device, to seek authorization to conduct the commercial transaction; and receiving by the merchant computing device from the system computing device a data message having personal information of the consumer. 9. The method of claim 8, wherein receiving a request comprises receiving a request including information identifying the commercial transaction. 10. The method of claim 8, wherein transmitting comprises transmitting a data message having at least one of a merchant identifier, a consumer identifier, or information identifying the commercial transaction. 11. The method of claim 8, further comprising receiving by the merchant computing device, in the data message, selected authorization information to authorize consummation of the commercial transaction. 12. The method of claim 8, further comprising receiving by the merchant computing device a data message having an indication that the commercial transaction has been approved or declined from a payment processor computing device that is different from the system computing device. 13. The method of claim 8, wherein receiving a data message includes receiving personal information of the consumer that is stored by the system computing device. 14. An apparatus for facilitating a commercial transaction between a consumer and a merchant, the apparatus comprising: a communication interface configured for voice and data communication; a processor; and a tangible storage medium coupled to the processor, and having stored therein programming instructions that, in response to execution by the processor, cause the apparatus to receive a request initiated by a consumer, to conduct a commercial transaction; transmit in response to the request, the request in a data message to a system computing device communicatively couplable to the apparatus to seek authorization to consume the transaction; and receive from the system computing device a data message having personal information of the consumer. 15. The apparatus of claim 14, wherein the instructions are further configured, in response to execution by the processor, to cause the apparatus to receive, in the data message, selected authorization information from the system computing device to authorize consummation of the commercial transaction. 16. The apparatus of claim 14, wherein the instructions are further configured, in response to execution by the processor, to cause the apparatus to receive a data message having an indication that the commercial transaction has been approved or declined from a payment processor computing device that is different from the system computing device. 17. The apparatus of claim 14, wherein the tangible storage medium has stored therein programming instructions that, in response to execution by the processor, cause the apparatus to receive personal information of the consumer that is stored by the system computing device. 18. An article of manufacture, comprising: a tangible storage medium; and programming instructions stored therein, configured to enable an apparatus, in response to execution by a processor provided by the apparatus, to perform a method comprising: initiating a request to a merchant computing device associated with a merchant, to conduct a commercial transaction between a consumer and the merchant; receiving in response to the request, a data message having selected transaction information from a system computing device that is different from the merchant computing device; and transmitting a data message to the system computing device, the data message having authorization information to enable consummation of the commercial transaction and including a request for the system computing device to release personal information of the consumer. 19. An article of manufacture, comprising: a tangible storage medium; and programming instructions stored therein, configured to enable an apparatus, in response to execution by a processor provided by the apparatus, to perform a method comprising: receiving a request, initiated from a mobile communication device associated with a consumer, to conduct a commercial transaction between the consumer and a merchant associated with the apparatus; transmitting in response, the request in a data message to a system computing device communicatively couplable to the apparatus, to seek authorization to conduct the commercial transaction; and receiving from the system computing device a data message having personal information of the consumer. 20. The article of manufacture of claim 19, wherein the programming instructions are configured to enable an apparatus, in response to execution by the processor, to receive personal information of the consumer that is stored by the system computing device.
