What is claimed is: 1. A method for disinfecting and/or cleaning a surface, said method comprising the step of: contacting the surface with a composition comprising a disinfecting amount of thyme oil in the range of about 0.01% to about 0.6% by weight, an amount of at least one salt of a transition
What is claimed is: 1. A method for disinfecting and/or cleaning a surface, said method comprising the step of: contacting the surface with a composition comprising a disinfecting amount of thyme oil in the range of about 0.01% to about 0.6% by weight, an amount of at least one salt of a transition metal in the range of about 0.001% to about 0.10% by weight, an amount of sodium dioctyl sulfosuccinate in the range of about 0.1% to about 5% by weight, and sufficient water to make up to 100% by weight, wherein the disinfecting amount of thyme oil will provide greater than about a 4-log order reduction in a population of microbes and/or viruses. 2. The method of claim 1, wherein the microbes are one or more microorganisms selected from the group consisting of Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, Influenza A virus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Salmonella choleraesius, Rhinovirus Type 37, and fungi. 3. The method of claim 1, wherein the viruses comprise enveloped viruses. 4. The method of claim 1, wherein the composition provides greater than about a 5 log reduction in a population of microbes selected from the group consisting of Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Influenza A virus, and Rhinovirus Type 37. 5. The method of claim 1, wherein the composition provides greater than about 6 log reduction in a population of microbes selected from the group consisting of Staphylococcus aureus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and Influenza A virus. 6. The method of claim 1, wherein the composition is a one-step cleaner such that the composition is not wiped of or rinsed off of the surface after application of the composition to the surface. 7. The method of claim 1, wherein the surface is an inanimate surface. 8. The method of claim 1, wherein the surface is an animate surface. 9. The method of claim 1, wherein the surface is selected from the group consisting of a hard surface, soft surface, porous surface, food substance and skin. 10. The method of claim 1, wherein the composition is formulated to be dispersed from a dispenser system selected from the group consisting of a trigger or finger pump bottle, a squeeze bottle, and a pressurized sprayer. 11. The method of claim 10, wherein the pressurized sprayer produces a spray, a fog, or a foam. 12. The method of claim 1, wherein the composition is incorporated into a towelette, a gel, a lotion, impregnated into plastic, hand soap, hand sanitizer, laundry soap, deodorant, toothpaste, or air freshener. 13. The method of claim 1, wherein the composition further comprises about 0.01% to about 0.5% weight of origanum oil. 14. The method of claim 1, wherein the composition further comprises sodium laurel sulphate. 15. The method of claim 1, wherein the sodium dioctyl sulfosuccinate is present in an amount in the range of about 0.5% to about 2% by weight. 16. The method of claim 1, wherein the transition metal is selected from the group consisting of copper, iron, zinc, and silver. 17. The method of claim 1, wherein the salt is selected from the group consisting of sulfate, chloride, gluconate, hydroxide, nitrate, oxide, octanoate, carbonate, sulfonate, phosphate, and phosphonate. 18. The method of claim 1, wherein the salt of the transition metal salt is copper sulfate. 19. The method of claim 1, wherein the composition further comprises a degreaser present in an amount in the range of about 1% to about 1.5% by weight. 20. The method of claim 19, wherein the degreaser is a compound selected from the group consisting of D-limonene, pine oil, and lemon oil. 21. The method of claim 1, wherein the composition further comprises an emollient. 22. The method of claim 21, wherein the emollient is at least one of aloe vera and hydrolyzed protein.
