An apparatus, method and vending system mixes a dry mix with water to produce a whipped fluid slurry for a beverage. The mixing apparatus includes an inlet for receiving an unwhipped fluid slurry and an outlet for discharging the whipped fluid slurry. A whipping chamber is connected to the inlet for whipping the unwhipped fluid slurry and further includes an impeller that induces fluid turbulence to produce the whipped fluid slurry when the impeller rotates above one or more indentations in the surface of the whipping chamber.

The apparatus in accordance with claim 1 wherein each of the one or more first indentations comprises an aperture extending through the impeller. 4. The apparatus in accordance with claim 1 wherein turbulence in the fluid flow is caused by the cavitation near the interface between the one or more first indentations and the second surface of the whipping chamber. 5. The apparatus in accordance with claim 4 wherein the turbulence creates a shearing effect in the slurry near the interface. 6. The apparatus in accordance with claim 1 further comprising: an outlet orifice configured to discharge the fluid. 7. The apparatus in accordance with claim 1 further comprising: a discharge outlet; anda restrictor coupled to the discharge outlet, the restrictor configured to increase the time the slurry remains in contact with the interface prior to exiting the discharge outlet. 8. The apparatus in accordance with claim 1 wherein the impeller rotates at least about 13000 revolutions per minute. 9. The apparatus in accordance with claim 1 wherein cavitation in the fluid flow of the slurry is produced by a rate of movement of the impeller, a configuration of the impeller, and restriction on a discharge outlet in combination with the one or more first indentations. 10. The apparatus in accordance with claim 1 further comprising: one or more second indentations recessed into the second surface of the whipping chamber such that a bottom surface of each of the one or more second indentations is offset from the second surface of the whipping chamber, andwherein the impeller, the one or more first indentations, and the one or more second indentations are configured to create cavitation in the fluid flow of the slurry. 11. The apparatus in accordance with claim 10 wherein each of the one or more first indentations comprises an aperture extending through the impeller. 12. The apparatus in accordance with claim 10 wherein the impeller further comprises at least one breaker located on the front surface of the impeller. 13. The apparatus in accordance with claim 10 wherein the impeller further comprises one or more radially extending grooves located on the front surface of the impeller. 14. A method of whipping a slurry, the method comprising: whipping the slurry by rotating an impeller in a whipping chamber, a back surface of the impeller faces a first surface of the whipping chamber, and a front surface of the impeller opposite the back surface of the impeller faces a second surface of the whipping chamber;inducing turbulence in the whipping chamber during whipping by creating cavitation in the slurry near an interface between the second surface of the whipping chamber and one or more first indentations recessed into the front surface of the impeller; anddischarging the whipped slurry from the whipping chamber. 15. The method in accordance with claim 14 wherein each of the one or more first indentations comprises a hole having a bottom surface within the impeller. 16. The method in accordance with claim 14 wherein each of the one or more first indentations comprises an aperture extending through the impeller. 17. The method in accordance with claim 14 further comprising: cavitating the slurry near the interface between the one or more first indentations and the front surface of the whipping chamber to produce at least a one of shearing effects and turbulence. 18. The method in accordance with claim 14 further comprising: rotating the impeller at least about 13000 revolutions per minute. 19. The method in accordance with claim 18 further comprising: providing at least one breaker on the front surface of the impeller. 20. The method in accordance with claim 19 further comprising: creating turbulence at interfaces between the one or more indentations and the second surface of the whipping chamber using the breaker. 21. The method in accordance with claim 14 further comprising: restricting the discharge of the whipped slurry using a restrictor. 22. The method in accordance with claim 14 wherein creating cavitation in the slurry near the interface further comprises creating cavitation in the slurry near the interface between the second surface of the whipping chamber, the one or more first indentations and one or more second indentations recessed into the second surface of the whipping chamber. 23. The method in accordance with claim 22 wherein each of the one or more first indentations comprises an aperture extending through the impeller. 24. A vending system for providing a whipped beverage, the system comprising: a customer order system;a dry beverage mix container configured to hold dry beverage mix;a whipping chamber configured to mix water and the dry beverage mix in accordance with a customer order, wherein the whipping chamber has a first surface, a sidewall and a second surface;an impeller rotatably mounted interior to the whipping chamber, the impeller configured to whip the dry beverage mix and water into a slurry and induce fluid flow in the slurry, wherein a back surface of the impeller faces the first surface of the whipping chamber and a front surface of the impeller opposite the first surface of the impeller faces the second surface of the whipping chamber;one or more first indentations recessed into the front surface of the impeller; anda discharge outlet from the whipping chamber configured to dispense the whipped slurry into a customer receptacle, wherein rotation of the impeller within the whipping chamber creates cavitation in the fluid flow of the slurry near an interface between the second surface of the whipping chamber and the one or more first indentations. 25. The vending system in accordance with claim 24 wherein each of the one or more first indentations comprises a hole having a bottom surface within the impeller. 26.
