A microwaveable packaging device, comprising a base film including a plurality of micro-perforations with a diameter of 90 to 500 microns at 5 mm or 10 mm apart, when closed the base film includes an inner surface which defines an interior space having an internal atmosphere for storing a food product, the internal atmosphere including 2-18% O2, 5-20% CO2, and relative humidity of ≧70% during at least a portion of the ripening, distribution, or storage processes of said food product, and an outer surface which is in contact with an exterior environment; and a venting system within the base film that allows the release of pressure build-up during a cooking process. 2. The packaging device of claim 1, wherein the venting system includes a plurality of micro-perforations. 3. The packaging device of claim 2, wherein the plurality of micro-perforations are steam release valve micro-perforations. 4. The packaging device of claim 2, wherein the venting system is contained within at least one of an adhesive seal and an adhesive seal bonding the base film. 5. The packaging device of claim 1, wherein the venting system includes at least one of slit, directed channel, barrier, venting point, and secondary seal. 6. The packaging device of claim 1, wherein a second base film is bonded over the venting system. 7. The packaging device of claim 1, wherein the second base film may include at least one of a plurality of micro-perforations, slit, directed channel, barrier, venting point, and secondary seal. 8. The packaging device of claim 1, wherein the base film is constructed with a fold over flap. 9. The packaging device of claim 8, wherein the fold over flap may include at least one of an adhesive seal, a plurality of adhesive seals, directed channels, one or more micro-perforations and slits, barrier, venting point, and secondary seal. 10. A packaging device, comprising: a base film including a plurality of micro-perforations with a diameter of 90 to 500 microns at 5 mm or 10 mm apart, including an inner surface which defines an interior space for storing a food product and an outer surface in contact with an exterior environment; anda venting system contained within the base film, wherein the venting system allows the release of pressure build-up within the interior space during a cooking process. 11. The packaging device of claim 10, wherein the venting system includes a plurality of micro-perforations. 12. The packaging device of claim 11, wherein the plurality of micro-perforations are steam release valve micro-perforations. 13. The packaging device of claim 11, wherein the venting system is contained within at least one of an adhesive seal and an adhesive seal bonding the base film. 14. The packaging device of claim 10, wherein the venting system includes at least one of a directed channel, slit, barrier, venting point, and secondary seal. 15. The packaging device of claim 10, wherein the second base film may include at least one of a plurality of micro-perforations and slits, directed channel, barrier, venting point, and secondary seal. 16. The packaging device of claim 15, wherein the plurality of micro-perforations included in the second base film are configured with similar or different number and dimensional characteristics as the plurality of micro-perforations included in the venting system. 17. The packaging device of claim 10, further comprising a second adhesive strip for bonding the second base film, the second adhesive strip including a feature selected from the group consisting of a plurality of micro-perforations and slits, a barrier, a directed channel, a venting point, and a secondary seal. 18. A packaging device, comprising: a first base film including an inner surface which defines an interior space for storing a food product and an outer surface in contact with an exterior environment;a venting system contained within the first base film, wherein the venting system includes a plurality of micro-perforations with a diameter of 90 to 500 microns at 5 mm or 10 mm apart that allow the release of pressure build-up during a cooking process; anda second base film connected with the first base film, the second base film covering at least a portion of the venting system, wherein the second base film may include at least one of a plurality of micro-perforations and slit, directed channel, barrier, venting point, and secondary seal, wherein the plurality of micro-perforations included in the second base film are configured with similar or different number and dimensional characteristics as the plurality of micro-perforations included in the venting system. 19. The packaging device of claim 18, further comprising an adhesive seal for bonding the second base film with the first base film. 20. The packaging device of claim 19, wherein the adhesive seal further comprises the features selected from the group consisting of a barrier, a directed channel, and a venting point. 21. The packaging device of claim 19, wherein the venting system is contained within at least one of a secondary adhesive seal and the adhesive seal that bonds the first and second base films. 22. The packaging device of claim 18, wherein the plurality of micro-perforations are steam release valve micro-perforations. 23. The packaging device of claim 18, wherein the venting system includes at least one of a directed channel, slit, barrier, venting point, and secondary seal. 24. The packaging device of claim 18, wherein the base film is constructed with a fold over flap. 25. The packaging device of claim 24, wherein the fold over flap may include at least one of an adhesive seal, a plurality of adhesive seals, directed channels, one or more micro-perforations and slits, barrier, venting point, and secondary seal.
