A spine implant comprising: a first bone anchor adapted for mounting in a first pedicle of a first vertebra, the first bone anchor having a first head;a second bone anchor adapted for mounting in a second pedicle of a second vertebra, the second bone anchor having a second head;a third bone anchor adapted for mounting in a third pedicle of a third vertebra, the third bone anchor having a third head;a vertical rod;the vertical rod having a first portion comprising a pivotable joint;the vertical rod having a second portion rigidly mounted to the second head of the second bone anchor and a third portion rigidly connected to the third head of the third bone anchor to thereby immobilize the third vertebra relative to the second vertebra;a deflectable rod having a first end secured to the first head of the first bone anchor;the deflectable rod having a deflectable end capable of deflecting relative to the first end in response to a load applied to the deflectable end;the deflectable end of the deflectable rod being connected to the pivotable joint of the vertical rod to thereby stabilize the first vertebra relative to the second vertebra while providing for movement of the first vertebra relative to the second vertebra by deflection of the deflectable rod. 2. The spine implant of claim 1, wherein the deflectable rod comprises a superelastic component. 3. The spine implant of claim 1, wherein the deflectable rod comprises a nickel-titanium alloy component. 4. The spine implant of claim 1, wherein: the first bone anchor comprises a first threaded shaft adapted to mount in the first pedicle of the first vertebra;the second bone anchor comprises a second threaded shaft adapted to mount in the second pedicle of the second vertebra; andthe third bone anchor comprises a third threaded shaft adapted to mount in the third pedicle of the third vertebra. 5. The spine implant of claim 4, wherein: the second head of the second bone anchor is pivotably connected to the second threaded shaft of the second bone anchor such that an orientation of the second head relative to the second threaded shaft is adjustable during implantation; andthe third head of the third bone anchor is pivotably connected to the third threaded shaft of the third bone anchor such that an orientation of the third head relative to the third threaded shaft is adjustable during implantation. 6. The spine implant of claim 1, wherein the deflectable end of the deflectable rod is configured to deflect in response to load supported between the first vertebra and the second vertebra. 7. The spine implant of claim 1, wherein the deflectable end of the deflectable rod is configured to resiliently deflect in response to load supported between the first vertebra and the second vertebra by bending of a superelastic component of the first deflectable rod. 8. The spine implant of claim 1, in combination with another such spine implant whereby the another such spine implant is adapted for mounting to a first contralateral pedicle of the first vertebra, a second contralateral pedicle of the second vertebra, and a third contralateral pedicle of the third vertebra. 9. The spine implant of claim 1, wherein the first end of the deflectable rod is secured to the first head of the first bone anchor as the deflectable rod is secured to a horizontal rod which horizontal rod is secured to the first head of the first bone anchor. 10. The spine implant of claim 1, wherein the deflectable end of the deflectable rod is connected to the pivotable joint of the vertical rod substantially perpendicular to the vertical rod. 11. A spine implant comprising: a first bone anchor having a first head and a first threaded shaft;a second bone anchor having a second head and a second threaded shaft;a third bone anchor having a third head and a third threaded shaft;a vertical rod;the vertical rod having a first portion comprising a pivotable joint;the vertical rod having a second portion rigidly mounted to the second head of the second bone anchor and a third portion rigidly connected to the third head of the third bone anchor to thereby immobilize the third bone anchor relative to the second bone anchor;a deflectable rod having a first end secured to the first head of the first bone anchor;the deflectable rod having a deflectable end capable of deflecting relative to the first end in response to a load applied to the deflectable end;the deflectable end of the deflectable rod being connected to the pivotable joint of the vertical rod to thereby stabilize the first bone anchor relative to the second bone anchor while providing for movement of the first bone anchor relative to the second bone anchor by deflection of the deflectable rod. 12. The spine implant of claim 11, wherein the deflectable rod comprises a superelastic component. 13. The spine implant of claim 11, wherein the deflectable rod comprises a nickel-titanium alloy component. 14. The spine implant of claim 11, wherein the first head of the first bone anchor is pivotably connected to the first threaded shaft of the first bone anchor such that an orientation of the first head relative to the first threaded shaft is adjustable during implantation. 15. The spine implant of claim 11, wherein: the second head of the second bone anchor is pivotably connected to the second threaded shaft of the second bone anchor such that an orientation of the second head relative to the second threaded shaft is adjustable during implantation; andthe third head of the third bone anchor is pivotably connected to the third threaded shaft of the third bone anchor such that an orientation of the third head relative to the third threaded shaft is adjustable during implantation. 16. The spine implant of claim 11, wherein the deflectable end of the deflectable rod is configured to deflect in response to load supported between the first bone anchor and the second bone anchor. 17. The spine implant of claim 11, wherein the deflectable end of the deflectable rod is configured to resiliently deflect in response to load supported between the first bone anchor and the second bone anchor by bending of a superelastic component of the first deflectable rod. 18. The spine implant of claim 11, wherein: the first bone anchor is a first pedicle screw adapted to be implanted in a first pedicle of a first vertebra;the second bone anchor is a second pedicle screw adapted to be implanted in a second pedicle of a second vertebra; andthe third bone anchor is a third pedicle screw adapted to be implanted in a third pedicle of a third vertebra. 19. The spine implant of claim 11, wherein the first end of the deflectable rod is secured to the first head of the first bone anchor as the deflectable rod is secured to a horizontal rod and which horizontal rod is secured to the first head of the first bone anchor. 20. The spine implant of claim 11, wherein the deflectable end of the deflectable rod is connected to the pivotable joint of the vertical rod substantially perpendicular to the vertical rod. 21. A spine implant comprising: a first left bone anchor adapted for mounting in a first left pedicle of a first vertebra, the first left bone anchor having a first left head, and a first right bone anchor adapted for mounting in a first right pedicle of a first vertebra, the first right bone anchor having a first right head;a second left bone anchor adapted for mounting in a second left pedicle of a second vertebra, the second left bone anchor having a second left head, and a second right bone anchor adapted for mounting in a second right pedicle of a second vertebra, the second right bone anchor having a second right head;a third left bone anchor adapted for mounting in a third left pedicle of a third vertebra, the third left bone anchor having a third left head, and a third right bone anchor adapted for mounting in a third right pedicle of a third vertebra, the third right bone anchor having a third right head;a left vertical rod having a first left portion comprising a left pivotable joint, and a right vertical rod having a first right portion comprising a right pivotable joint;the left vertical rod having a second left portion rigidly connected to the second left head of the second left bone anchor and a third left portion rigidly connected to the third left head of the third left bone anchor, and the right vertical rod having a second right portion rigidly connected to the second right head of the second right bone anchor and a third right portion rigidly connected to the third right head of the third right bone anchor, to thereby immobilize the third vertebra relative to the second vertebra;a left deflectable rod having a left fixed end rigidly connected to the first left head of the first left bone anchor and a left deflectable end capable of deflecting relative to the left fixed end in response to a load applied to the left deflectable end, and a right deflectable rod having a right fixed end rigidly connected to the first right head of the first right bone anchor and a right deflectable end capable of deflecting relative to the right fixed end in response to a load applied to the right deflectable end; andwherein the left deflectable end of the left deflectable rod is connected to the left pivotable joint of the left vertical rod, and the right deflectable end of the right deflectable rod is connected to the right pivotable joint of the right vertical rod, to thereby stabilize the first vertebra relative to the second vertebra while providing for movement of the first vertebra relative to the second vertebra by deflection of the left deflectable rod and the right deflectable rod. 22. The spine implant of claim 21, wherein: the left deflectable rod comprises a superelastic component; andthe right deflectable rod comprises a superelastic component. 23. The spine implant of claim 21, wherein: the left deflectable rod comprises a nickel-titanium alloy component; andthe right deflectable rod comprises a nickel-titanium alloy component. 24. The spine implant of claim 21, wherein: the first left bone anchor comprises a first left threaded shaft adapted to mount in the first left pedicle of the first vertebra;the first right bone anchor comprises a first right threaded shaft adapted to mount in the first right pedicle of the first vertebra;the second left bone anchor comprises a second left threaded shaft adapted to mount in the second left pedicle of the second vertebra; andthe second right bone anchor comprises a second right threaded shaft adapted to mount in the second right pedicle of the second vertebra;the third left bone anchor comprises a third left threaded shaft adapted to mount in the third left pedicle of the third vertebra; andthe third right bone anchor comprises a third right threaded shaft adapted to mount in the third right pedicle of the third vertebra. 25. The spine implant of claim 24, wherein: the second left head of the second left bone anchor is pivotably connected to the second left threaded shaft of the second bone anchor such that an orientation of the second left head relative to the second left threaded shaft is adjustable during implantation;the second right head of the second right bone anchor is pivotably connected to the second right threaded shaft of the second right bone anchor such that an orientation of the second right head relative to the second right threaded shaft is adjustable during implantation;the third left head of the third left bone anchor is pivotably connected to the third left threaded shaft of the third left bone anchor such that an orientation of the third left head relative to the third left threaded shaft is adjustable during implantation; andthe third right head of the third right bone anchor is pivotably connected to the third right threaded shaft of the third right bone anchor such that an orientation of the third right head relative to the third right threaded shaft is adjustable during implantation. 26. The spine implant of claim 21, wherein the left deflectable end of the left deflectable rod, and the right deflectable end of the right deflectable rod are configured to deflect in response to load supported between the first vertebra and the second vertebra. 27. The spine implant of claim 21, wherein the left deflectable end of the left deflectable rod, and the right deflectable end of the right deflectable rod are configured to resiliently deflect in response to load supported between the first vertebra and the second vertebra by bending of a superelastic component of the left deflectable rod and right deflectable rod. 28. The spine implant of claim 21, wherein the first left end of the left deflectable rod and the first right end of the right deflectable rod are secured to a horizontal rod which is secured to the first left head of the first left bone anchor and to the first right head of the first right bone anchor. 29. The spine implant of claim 21, wherein: the left deflectable end of the left deflectable rod is connected to the left pivotable joint of the left vertical rod substantially perpendicular to the left vertical rod; andthe right deflectable end of the right deflectable rod is connected to the right pivotable joint of the right vertical rod substantially perpendicular to the right vertical rod. 30. The spine implant of claim 21, wherein: the second left portion of the left vertical rod and the second right portion of the right vertical rod are rigidly mounted to a horizontal rod which is rigidly mounted to the second left head of the second left bone anchor and the second right head of the second right bone anchor; andthe third left portion of the left vertical rod and the third right portion of the right vertical rod are rigidly mounted to another horizontal rod which is rigidly mounted to the third left head of the third left bone anchor and the third right head of the third right bone anchor. 31. The spine implant of claim 21, wherein: the first left end of the left deflectable rod and the first right end of the right deflectable rod are secured to a first horizontal rod which is secured to the first left head of the first left bone anchor and the first right head of the first right bone anchor;the second left portion of the left vertical rod and the second right portion of the right vertical rod are rigidly mounted to a second horizontal rod which is rigidly mounted to the second left head of the second left bone anchor and the second right head of the second right bone anchor; andthe third left portion of the left vertical rod and the third right portion of the right vertical rod are rigidly mounted to a third horizontal rod which is rigidly mounted to the third left head of the third left bone anchor and the third right head of the third right bone anchor.
