Each service area includes a plurality of slots extending inwardly from a peripheral edge of the upper support member to receive and support components of the cover plate assembly during a disassembly and service operation.

A holding structure for supporting a removed turbine engine cover plate assembly including a cover plate having an inner side, an outer side, a C-stage ring extending from the inner side and a central aperture extending between the inner and outer sides, the cover plate assembly further including a basket extending from the inner side of the cover plate, and a support housing having an upper portion located adjacent the outer side of the cover plate and a lower portion extending through the aperture in the cover plate, the holding structure comprising: an upper support member having: a first slot defining a slot extending inwardly from an edge of said upper support member for receiving a C-stage ring of a cover plate of a first cover plate assembly to be supported on the holding structure, said first slot having an interior cross sectional dimension less than an outer cross sectional dimension of the cover plate and greater than an outer cross sectional dimension of the C-stage ring of the cover plate, wherein said upper support member defines an upper surface adapted to engage the inner side of the cover plate to support the first cover plate assembly on the holding structure; andanother slot defining a slot extending inwardly from said edge of said upper support member for receiving one of: a support housing of the first cover plate assembly upon removal of the support housing from the first cover plate assembly; anda C-stage ring of a cover plate of a second cover plate assembly to be supported on the holding structure; anda lower support member vertically spaced from said upper support member by at least one support bar, said lower support member having an upper surface facing an end of a basket of the first cover plate assembly distal from the inner side of the cover plate when the first cover plate assembly is supported on said upper support member. 2. The holding structure according to claim 1, wherein said support bar extends vertically upwardly from said upper surface of said upper support member and includes a stacking guide structure at an upper end thereof that is receivable in a corresponding aperture of a second holding structure to stack said second holding structure with the holding structure. 3. The holding structure according to claim 1, further comprising a base portion between said lower support member and a surface upon which the holding structure stands for maintaining the holding structure in an upright position, wherein said lower support member is supported on an axial support member that is affixed to an upper surface of said base portion, and where said lower support member is rotatably adjustable on said axial support member and lockable in at least first and second positions. 4. The holding structure according to claim 1, further comprising alignment pins extending vertically upwardly from said upper surface of said upper support member, said alignment pins adapted to be received in corresponding apertures formed in the cover plate of the first cover plate assembly for securing the first cover plate assembly in a fixed position on the holding structure. 5. The holding structure according to claim 1, wherein said first slot comprises a shape defined by sector of a circle. 6. The holding structure according to claim 1, further comprising a crane mounted to said upper surface of said upper support member, said crane including a lifting cable and a power winch for controlling extension of said lifting cable. 7. The holding structure according to claim 1, wherein said another slot defines a second slot that extends inwardly from said edge adjacent to said first slot for receiving the support housing of the first cover plate assembly upon removal of the support housing from the first cover plate assembly, said second slot having an interior cross sectional dimension less than an outer cross sectional dimension of an upper portion of the support housing and greater than an outer cross sectional dimension of a lower portion of the support housing, wherein said upper surface of said upper support member is adapted to engage a planar lower surface of the upper portion of the support housing to support the support housing on the holding structure. 8. The holding structure according to claim 7, wherein said upper support member includes a third slot extending inwardly from said edge adjacent to said second slot for receiving a pilot nozzle of the first cover plate assembly upon removal of the pilot nozzle from the first cover plate assembly, said third slot having an interior cross sectional dimension less than an outer cross sectional dimension of a mounting flange of the pilot nozzle and greater than a diameter of the pilot nozzle, wherein said upper surface of said upper support member is adapted to engage the mounting flange of the pilot nozzle to support the pilot nozzle on the holding structure. 9. The holding structure according to claim 1, wherein said another slot defines another first slot and wherein said upper support member includes a plurality of first slots defining slots for receiving and supporting a plurality of cover plate assemblies, said first slots extending inwardly from respective corners of said upper support member. 10. The holding structure according to claim 9, wherein said upper support member includes four first slots defining slots for receiving and supporting up to four cover plate assemblies. 11. The holding structure according to claim 9, wherein said lower support member comprises a corresponding number of sections to the number of first slots of said upper support member, said sections configurable to be substantially vertically aligned with a corresponding one of said first slots, each said section comprising a substantially planar upper surface for receiving and supporting a basket detached and lowered from a cover plate assembly supported in the corresponding first slot. 12. The holding structure according to claim 9, wherein said upper support member includes a corresponding number of second slots to the number of first slots, said second slots extending inwardly from a respective edge adjacent to a corresponding first slot for receiving a support housing of the corresponding cover plate assembly upon removal of the support housing from the cover plate assembly, each said second slot having an interior cross sectional dimension less than an outer cross sectional dimension of an upper portion of the respective support housing and greater than an outer cross sectional dimension of a lower portion of the respective support housing, wherein said upper surface of said upper support member is adapted to engage a planar lower surface of the upper portion of the respective support housing to support the support housing on the holding structure. 13. A holding structure for supporting a removed turbine engine cover plate assembly including a cover plate having an inner side, an outer side, a C-stage ring extending from the inner side and a central aperture extending between the inner and outer sides, the cover plate assembly further including a basket extending from the inner side of the cover plate, and a support housing having an upper portion located adjacent the outer side of the cover plate and a lower portion extending through the aperture in the cover plate, the holding structure comprising: an upper support member having: a first slot defining a slot extending inwardly from an edge of said upper support member for receiving a C-stage ring of a cover plate of a cover plate assembly to be supported on the holding structure, said first slot having an interior cross sectional dimension less than an outer cross sectional dimension of the cover plate and greater than an outer cross sectional dimension of the C-stage ring of the cover plate, wherein said upper support member defines an upper surface adapted to engage the inner side of the cover plate to support the cover plate assembly on the holding structure; anda second slot extending inwardly from said edge adjacent to said first slot for receiving a support housing of the cover plate assembly upon removal of the support housing from the cover plate assembly, said second slot having an interior cross sectional dimension less than an outer cross sectional dimension of an upper portion of the support housing and greater than an outer cross sectional dimension of a lower portion of the support housing, wherein said upper surface of said upper support member is adapted to engage a planar lower surface of the upper portion of the support housing to support the support housing on the holding structure. 14. The holding structure according to claim 13, further comprising a lower support member vertically spaced from said upper support member by at least one support bar, said lower support member having an upper surface facing an end of a basket of the cover plate assembly distal from the inner side of the cover plate when the cover plate assembly is supported on said upper support member. 15. The holding structure according to claim 13, wherein said upper support member includes a third slot extending inwardly from said edge adjacent to said second slot for receiving a pilot nozzle of the cover plate assembly upon removal of the pilot nozzle from the cover plate assembly, said third slot having an interior cross sectional dimension less than an outer cross sectional dimension of a mounting flange of the pilot nozzle and greater than a diameter of the pilot nozzle, wherein said upper surface of said upper support member is adapted to engage the mounting flange of the pilot nozzle to support the pilot nozzle on the holding structure. 16. A holding structure for supporting at least one removed turbine engine cover plate assembly including a cover plate having an inner side, an outer side, a C-stage ring extending from the inner side and a central aperture extending between the inner and outer sides, the at least one cover plate assembly further including a basket extending from the inner side of the cover plate, and a support housing having an upper portion located adjacent the outer side of the cover plate and a lower portion extending through the aperture in the cover plate, the holding structure comprising: an upper support member having a plurality of first slots defining slots extending inwardly from an edge of said upper support member, each first slot for receiving a C-stage ring of a cover plate of a respective cover plate assembly to be supported on the holding structure, said first slots having an interior cross sectional dimension less than an outer cross sectional dimension of the cover plate of the respective cover plate assembly and greater than an outer cross sectional dimension of the C-stage ring of the cover plate of the respective cover plate assembly, wherein said upper support member defines an upper surface adapted to engage the inner side of the cover plate to support the respective cover plate assembly on the holding structure. 17. The holding structure according to claim 16, further comprising a lower support member vertically spaced from said upper support member by at least one support bar, said lower support member having an upper surface facing an end of a basket of the each supported cover plate assembly distal from the inner side of the cover plate when the respective cover plate assembly is supported on said upper support member. 18. The holding structure according to claim 17, wherein said lower support member comprises a corresponding number of sections to the number of first slots of said upper support member, said sections configurable to be substantially vertically aligned with a corresponding one of said first slots, each said section comprising a substantially planar upper surface for receiving and supporting a basket detached and lowered from a cover plate assembly supported in the corresponding first slot. 19. The holding structure according to claim 16, wherein said upper support member includes a corresponding number of second slots to the number of first slots, said second slots extending inwardly from a respective edge adjacent to a corresponding first slot for receiving a support housing of the corresponding cover plate assembly upon removal of the support housing from the cover plate assembly, each said second slot having an interior cross sectional dimension less than an outer cross sectional dimension of an upper portion of the respective support housing and greater than an outer cross sectional dimension of a lower portion of the respective support housing, wherein said upper surface of said upper support member is adapted to engage a planar lower surface of the upper portion of the respective support housing to support the support housing on the holding structure. 20. The holding structure according to claim 19, wherein said upper support member includes a corresponding number of third slots to the number of first slots, said third slots extending inwardly from a respective edge adjacent to at least one of said corresponding first and second slots for receiving a pilot nozzle of the respective cover plate assembly upon removal of the pilot nozzle from the cover plate assembly, said third slots having an interior cross sectional dimension less than an outer cross sectional dimension of a mounting flange of the respective pilot nozzle and greater than a diameter of the pilot nozzle, wherein said upper surface of said upper support member is adapted to engage the mounting flange of the pilot nozzle to support the pilot nozzle on the holding structure.
