A hard surface cleaner comprising surfactant and about 0.01 to about 20 wt-% corrosion inhibitor; the corrosion inhibitor comprising: the reaction complex of a salt of a threshold agent and a water-soluble calcium and magnesium salt such that the salt cations of the threshold agent are fully exchanged, wherein the threshold agent is selected from the group consisting of polyacrylates, copolymers of polyacrylates, polymethacrylates, copolymes of polymethacrylates, polyacrylamides; copolymers of polyacrylamides, organophosphonates, polyglyoxylic acids, polyamidocarboxylic acids, modified polyamidocarboxylic acids, polyaspartic acid, and mixtures thereof;less than about 0.5 wt-% aluminum-containing compounds;wherein the weight ratio of water soluble magnesium salt to water soluble calcium salt is greater than or equal to about 1:1 and the weight ratio of water soluble calcium salt to threshold agent is about 1:2 and further wherein the hard surface cleaner is a solid and the composition is builder free. 2. The cleaner of claim 1, comprising about 0.1 to about 10 wt-% corrosion inhibitor. 3. The cleaner of claim 1, further comprising an alkalinity source, in an amount effective to provide a use composition having a pH of at least about 8 when measured at a concentration of about 0.5wt-%, wherein the alkalinity source is selected from the group consisting of alkali metal hydroxides, alkanolamines, and mixtures thereof. 4. The cleaner of claim 1, wherein the water soluble magnesium salt is selected from the group consisting of magnesium acetate, magnesium benzoate, magnesium bromide, magnesium bromate, magnesium chlorate, magnesium chloride, magnesium chromate, magnesium citrate, magnesium formate, magnesium hexafluorosilicate, magnesium iodate, magnesium iodide, magnesium lactate, magnesium molybdate, magnesium nitrate, magnesium perchlorate, magnesium phosphinate, magnesium salicylate, magnesium sulfate, magnesium sulfite, magnesium thiosulfate, a hydrate thereof, and a mixture thereof. 5. The cleaner of claim 1, wherein the water soluble calcium salt is selected from the group consisting of calcium acetate, calcium benzoate, calcium bromate, calcium bromide, calcium chlorate, calcium chloride, calcium chromate, calcium dihydrogen phosphate, calcium dithionate, calcium formate, calcium gluconate, calcium glycerophosphate, calcium hydrogen sulfide, calcium iodide, calcium lactate, calcium metasilicate, calcium nitrate, calcium nitrite, calcium pantothenate, calcium perchlorate, calcium permanganate, calcium phosphate, calcium phosphinate, calcium salicylate, calcium succinate, a hydrate thereof, and a mixture thereof. 6. The cleaner of claim 1, comprising less than about 0.5 wt-% zinc-containing compounds. 7. The cleaner of claim 1, comprising less than about 0.5 wt-% phosphorous-containing compounds. 8. The composition of claim 1, comprising about 0.05 wt. % to about 15 wt. % surfactant. 9. The composition of claim 1, wherein the surfactant is selected from the group consisting of anionic surfactant, nonionic surfactant, cationic surfactant, zwitterionic surfactant, and a mixture thereof. 10. A method of cleaning a hard surface, the method comprising: providing a hard surface cleaner according to claim 1;preparing an aqueous use composition of the hard surface cleaner; andcontacting the hard surface with the aqueous use composition.
