The system is configured to convert the handheld microprocessor device into a healthcare monitoring device that functions to monitor patient health conditions and communicate data related to the monitored conditions to the central server.

A networked health-monitoring system configured to collect and process health-related data of a patient, comprising: at least one microprocessor device (i) including a display, a microprocessor and a memory and (ii) configured to collect the health-related data based on at least one health condition of the patient;at least one central server (i) remotely located from and in signal communication with the microprocessor device on a first communication channel to receive the health-related data from the microprocessor device and (ii) configured to (a) generate health-related information from the health-related data and (b) store the health-related data with identification data, wherein (1) the identification data identifies both the patient and one or more authorized users who can access the health-related information and (2) the authorized users are non-patients; andat least one healthcare professional computer remotely located from and in signal communication with the central server on a second communication channel and configured to (i) send the identification data of at least one of the authorized users, the identification data of at least one patient and identification of a selected one of a plurality of formats of the health-related information to the central server and (ii) receive the health-related information of the at least one patient in the selected format from the central server where the identification data identifies the at least one authorized user as authorized to access the health-related information of the at least one patient, wherein the central server is configured to transfer one or more computer programs to the microprocessor device, the computer programs once transferred being executed by the microprocessor device for collecting the health-related data. 2. The system of claim 1, wherein the memory includes stored program instructions for generating health-monitoring related information on the display. 3. The system of claim 1, wherein the microprocessor device is capable of displaying pictorial health-monitoring related information. 4. The system of claim 1, wherein the microprocessor device is capable of displaying animated health-monitoring related information. 5. The system of claim 2, wherein the memory is a cartridge configured to be unplugged from the microprocessor device. 6. The system of claim 1, wherein the microprocessor device includes buttons, keys or switches. 7. The system of claim 1, further comprising at least one health-monitoring device arranged to communicate the health-related data to the central server. 8. The system of claim 7, wherein the microprocessor device further comprises a data management microprocessor configured to (i) facilitate collection of the health-related data from the health monitoring device and (ii) transfer the computer programs from the central server to the memory of the microprocessor device. 9. The system of claim 8, wherein the data management microprocessor facilitates collection of the health-related data by receiving data related to a monitored condition from the health-monitoring device. 10. The system of claim 7, wherein the at least one health-monitoring device includes one or more of: a blood glucose monitor;a peak flow meter;a blood pressure monitor;a pulse monitor; anda body temperature monitor. 11. The system of claim 8, further comprising at least one personal computer connected to the data management microprocessor. 12. The system of claim 1, wherein the system generates at least one report based on the health-related data. 13. The system of claim 12, wherein at least one report is standardized. 14. The system of claim 12, wherein the system is configured to allow a healthcare professional to select which of a plurality of standardized reports is produced. 15. The system of claim 12, wherein the report uses graphs, icons, or both graphs and icons. 16. The system of claim 12, wherein the report can be generated periodically. 17. The system of claim 12, wherein the central server can generate the report. 18. The system of claim 12, wherein the system is configured to cause the presentation of at least one report on the display. 19. A method of collecting and processing health-related data of a patient, comprising: using at least one microprocessor device, including a display, a microprocessor and a memory, to collect the health-related data based on at least one health condition of the patient;connecting at least one central server in signal communication with the microprocessor device on a first communication channel, the central server being remotely located from the microprocessor device;communicating the health-related data from the microprocessor device to the central server;generating health-related information from the health-related data in the central server;storing the health-related data with identification data in the central server, wherein (i) the identification data identifies both the patient and one or more authorized users who can access the health-related information and (ii) the authorized users are non-patients;putting at least one remotely-located, healthcare professional computer in signal communication with the central server on a second communication channel;sending the identification data of at least one of the authorized users, the identification data of at least one patient and identification of a selected one of a plurality of formats of the health-related information from the healthcare professional computer to the central server;receiving, at the healthcare professional computer, the health-related information of the at least one patient in the selected format from the central server where the identification data identifies the at least one authorized user as authorized to access the health-related information of the at least one patient; andtransferring one or more computer programs from the central server to the microprocessor device, the computer programs once transferred being executable by the microprocessor device for collecting the health-related data. 46. The method of claim 45, wherein the memory includes stored program instructions for generating health-monitoring related information on the display. 47. The method of claim 45, further comprising displaying pictorial health-monitoring related information on the microprocessor device. 48. A networked health-monitoring system configured to collect and process health-related data of a patient, comprising: at least one microprocessor means (i) including a display, a microprocessor and a memory and (ii) configured to collect the health-related data based on at least one health condition of the patient;at least one central server means (i) remotely located from and in signal communications with the microprocessor means on a first communication channel for receiving the health-related data from the microprocessor means and (ii) configured to (a) generate health-related information from the health-related data and (b) store the health-related data with identification data, wherein (1) the identification data identifies both the patient and one or more authorized users who can access the health-related data and (2) the authorized users are non-patients; andat least one healthcare professional computer, remotely located from and in signal communication with the central server means on a second communication channel and configured to (i) send the identification data of at least one of the authorized users, the identification data of at least one patient and identification of a selected one of a plurality of formats of the health-related information to the central server means and (ii) receive the health-related information of the at least one patient in the selected format from the central server means where the identification data identifies the at least one authorized user as authorized to access the health-related information of the at least one patient, wherein the central server means is configured to transfer one or more computer programs to the microprocessor means, the computer programs once transferred being executable by the microprocessor means for collecting the health-related data. 90. The system of claim 1, wherein the system is configured to transfer the computer programs from the central server to the microprocessor device automatically on a repeated basis. 91. The system of claim 1, wherein the system is configured to transfer the computer programs from the central server to the microprocessor device in response to an input received at the healthcare professional computer. 92. The method of claim 45, further comprising transferring the computer programs from the central server to the microprocessor device automatically on a repeated basis. 93.
