The skateboard deck of claim 1 additionally comprising: said middle layer comprising;a first elongated metal side member running parallel to said center axis positioned between said first and second plurality of cross members at a position between said center axis and a first of said side edges;a second elongated metal side member, running parallel to said center axis, positioned between said first and second plurality of cross members at a position between said center axis and a second of said side edges andsaid first and second elongated side members each having a width, thickness, and length. 6. The skateboard deck of claim 2 additionally comprising: said middle layer comprising;a first elongated metal side member running parallel to said center axis positioned between said first and second plurality of cross members at a position between said center axis and a first of said side edges;a second elongated metal side member, running parallel to said center axis, positioned between said first and second plurality of cross members at a position between said center axis and a second of said side edges; andsaid first and second elongated side members each having a width, thickness, and length. 7.
