1. A method for providing improved moisture protection to a laminated wood board comprising a plurality of solid wood components that are glued together to form said wood board for use in a vehicular trailer and/or container flooring, such that said wood board has a first surface and a second opposing surface, said method comprising: machining a surface of said wood board to form a planar surface having uncoated wood; andapplying a coating at a temperature in the range between about 200 to 450° F. to said planar surface of said wood board, said coating having a viscosity in excess of 2000 cps and being substantially free of water and solvents. 2. The method according to claim 1, wherein said coating contains at least one or more materials selected from the group consisting of: polymer, copolymer, binder, resin, elastomer, coloring agent, filler and wax. 3. The method according to claim 2, wherein said polymer is at least one selected from the group consisting of: ethylene vinyl acetate, polyethylene, polypropylene, polyvinylchloride, polyurethane and polyamide. 4. The method according to claim 1, wherein said coating is applied to said wood board by one or more roller coaters. 5. The method according to claim 1, wherein said coating is applied to said wood board by one or more rollers. 6. The method according to claim 1, wherein said board further comprises at least one longitudinal edge, and further comprising: applying a water-based latex coating to said longitudinal edge. 7. The method according to claim 1, wherein said machining is sanding, abrading, and/or planing said surface of said wood board prior to applying said coating to said surface. 8. The method according to claim 4, wherein said coating is a hotmelt material which is pumped to said roller coater for application to the surface of said wood board. 9. The method according to claim 4, wherein said roller coater comprises heated rollers, such that said coating is maintained in a tacky, viscous and/or molten stage prior to being applied to said surface of said wood board. 10. The method according to claim 1, wherein said coating has a viscosity of at the application temperature in excess of about 5000 cps. 11. The method according to claim 4, wherein said wood board is passed through said roller coater in a forward pass, wherein the direction of rotation of the coating roll is unopposed to the direction of translation of said wood board. 12. The method according to claim 1, wherein said coating is applied to said wood board in a weight in the range of between about 10 to 50 grams per square foot per surface of said wood board. 13. The method according to claim 11, further comprising a second coating pass, wherein the direction of rotation of said coating roll is opposed or unopposed to the direction of translation of said wood board. 14. The method according to claim 13, wherein said second coating pass applies an additional coating layer to said wood board in a thickness in the range of between about 4 to 20 grams per square foot per surface of said wood board. 15. The method according to claim 4, wherein at least one additional step of contacting the coated wood board by one or more subsequent roller to thereby smooth out the texture of said coating applied to said wood board. 16. The method according to claim 15, wherein said subsequent roller is a heated roller which spins in either the forward or reverse direction compared to the direction of translation of said wood board. 17. The method according to claim 13, wherein said forward pass roller coater applies a first hotmelt material coating to a surface of said wood board and said reverse pass coater applies a second hotmelt material coating to said surface of said wood board. 18. The method according to claim 17, wherein said first hotmelt material includes adhesive characteristics. 19. The method according to claim 17, wherein said second hotmelt material includes non-blocking characteristics. 20. The method according to claim 1, wherein said coating comprises about 100% solids. 21. The method according to claim 1, wherein said coating is either thermoplastic or thermosetting. 22. The method according to claim 1, wherein said coating is a hotmelt material which is solid at ambient temperature, but softens and flows upon heating. 23. A method for providing improved moisture protection to a wood board for vehicular trailer and/or container flooring, said wood board comprising a plurality of solid wood components, wherein said wood board has at least a first surface and a second surface, said method comprising: sanding, planing, and/or abrading at least one of said first and second surfaces of said wood board; andapplying a hotmelt coating in a molten state at a temperature of at least about 200° F. and viscosity in excess of 2000 cps to at least one of said first and second surfaces of said wood board, wherein said hotmelt coating is substantially free of water and solvents, andwherein said hotmelt coating solidifies and adheres to said wood board at ambient temperature, thereby providing moisture protection to said wood board.
