Modular floor tiles and modular floors are described herein. A modular floor tile may include a top surface layer, a plurality of edge surfaces, an interlocking mechanism for attachment to adjacent tiles, and a support system. The support system may additionally include a first rigid level and at least one resilient support member disposed under the top surface layer, the at least one resilient support member extending to a distance further from the top surface layer than the first rigid level. The at least one resilient support member may be compressible toward the top surface layer. A modular floor may include a plurality of interlocking tiles connected to one another. A method of forming a modular floor that includes an interlocking modular tile is also disclosed.

1. A modular floor tile, comprising: a top surface layer having a top surface and a bottom surface;a plurality of rigid support members extending downward from the bottom surface and formed integral with the top surface layer;a plurality of removable elastomeric support members extending downward from the bottom surface a distance greater than the rigid support members, the elastomeric support members being supported and compressible against the bottom surface of the top surface layer until the plurality of rigid support members contact a ground surface that supports the modular floor tile. 2. The modular floor tile of claim 1, wherein at least one of the rigid support members is positioned within one of the elastomeric support members. 3. The modular floor tile of claim 1, wherein a plurality of the rigid support members are positioned with each of the elastomeric support members. 4. The modular floor tile of claim 1, wherein each elastomeric support member is nested within a plurality of the rigid support members. 5. The modular floor tile of claim 1, wherein the elastomeric support members comprise rubber. 6. The modular floor tile of claim 1, wherein the elastomeric support members comprise a hollow cavity. 7. The modular floor tile of claim 1, wherein the elastomeric support members abut against the bottom surface of the top surface layer. 8. A method of forming a modular floor tile, comprising: providing a modular floor tile comprising a top surface layer, a plurality of rigid support members, and a plurality of resilient support members, the top surface layer having a top surface and a bottom surface;positioning the rigid support members extending downward from the bottom surface of the top surface layer;positioning the resilient support members extending downward from the bottom surface of the top surface layer, the resilient support members being configured to compress vertically upward against the bottom surface upon application of a force at the top surface until the rigid support members contact a ground surface that supports the modular floor tile. 9. The method of claim 8, wherein the resilient support members alone define a bottom surface of the modular floor tile assembly when the resilient support members are uncompressed, and the resilient support members and rigid support legs together define the bottom surface of the modular floor tile when the resilient support members are compressed. 10. The method of claim 8, further comprising forming the rigid support members integral with the top surface layer. 11. The method of claim 8, wherein positioning the resilient support members includes abutting the resilient support members against the bottom surface of the top surface layer. 12. The method of claim 8, wherein the rigid support members define a bottom plane of the modular floor tile, and the resilient support members extend beyond the bottom plane. 13. The method of claim 12, further comprising providing a plurality of rigid support legs and positioning the rigid support legs between the top surface layer and the bottom plane. 14. The method of claim 8, further comprising moving at least one of the resilient support members to a different location on the bottom surface of the top surface layer. 15. The method of claim 8, wherein the resilient support members are compressible toward the top surface layer. 16. The modular floor tile of claim 1, wherein the elastomeric support members are positioned entirely below the top surface layer. 17. The modular floor tile of claim 1, wherein the elastomeric support members are compressible vertically upward against the bottom surface of the top surface layer. 18. The method of claim 8, further comprising positioning the resilient support member entirely below the bottom surface of the top surface layer. 19. A modular floor tile, comprising: a top surface layer having a top surface and a bottom surface;a plurality of rigid support members extending downward from the bottom surface and formed integral with the top surface layer;a plurality of compressible support members extending downward from the bottom surface and being supported and compressible directly against the bottom surface of the top surface layer. 20. The modular floor tile of claim 19, wherein at least one of the rigid support members is positioned within one of the compressible support members. 21. The modular floor tile of claim 19, wherein a plurality of the rigid support members are positioned with each of the compressible support members. 22. The modular floor tile of claim 19, wherein each compressible support member is positioned between a plurality of the rigid support members. 23. The modular floor tile of claim 19, wherein the compressible support members are interconnected with a webbing.
