The drug delivery device of claim 1, wherein the peristaltic pump is configured to pump fluid through the fluid line when the peristaltic pump is operated, the fluid line is positioned in the recess, the door is closed, and the peristaltic pump is operated. 3. The drug delivery device of claim 1, wherein the first adjustable spring is connected to a first end region of the spring-loaded member, and a second adjustable spring is connected to a second end region of the spring loaded member, and the first and second adjustable springs are each secured to the door. 4. The drug delivery device of claim 1, wherein the peristaltic pump is rigidly fixed to the housing of the drug delivery device. 5. The drug delivery device of claim 1, further comprising a drive mechanism configured to operate the peristaltic pump. 6. The drug delivery device of claim 5, wherein the drive mechanism comprises a motor having an output shaft and a worm gear attached to the output shaft, and the worm gear is engaged with a gear secured to the frame such that rotation of the output shaft causes the frame of the peristaltic pump to rotate. 7. The drug delivery device of claim 1, wherein the drug delivery device comprises a plurality of peristaltic pumps extending from the surface of the drug delivery device, the door comprises a plurality of spring-loaded members exposed along the inner surface, and each of the spring-loaded members defines a recess configured to receive a portion of one of the peristaltic pumps when the door is closed. 8. The drug delivery device of claim 7, wherein the inner surface of the door defines a recessed region configured to receive a frame of a fluid line set therein. 9. The drug delivery device of claim 8, wherein the inner surface of the door further defines a plurality of recessed channels configured to receive fluid lines of the fluid line set therein. 10. The drug delivery device of claim 7, further comprising a plurality of air bubble detectors, each of the air bubble detectors being arranged to substantially align with a fluid line when fluid lines are positioned within the recesses of the door and the door is closed such that the air bubble detectors can detect air within the fluid lines. 11. The drug delivery device of claim 10, further comprising a plurality of drug vial holders positioned above the plurality of peristaltic pumps, each of the drug vial holders being configured to retain at least one drug vial. 12. The drug delivery device of claim 11, wherein the drug delivery device is configured to operate the peristaltic pumps in a manner such that, when fluid lines are positioned in the recesses of the door, the door is closed, and each of the fluid lines is in fluid communication with a drug vial retained by one of the drug vial holders, an air bubble is passed through a drug delivery line connected to each of the fluid lines between the delivery of drug from consecutive vials. 13. The drug delivery device of claim 12, wherein the drug delivery device is configured to operate the peristaltic pumps in a manner to pass an air bubble through the drug delivery line after completion of the delivery of drug from each vial. 14. The drug delivery device of claim 1, wherein the drug delivery device is part of a dialysis machine. 15. The drug delivery device of claim 14, wherein the fluid line is connected to a blood circuit of the dialysis machine in a manner such that fluid is delivered through the fluid line to the blood circuit when the peristaltic pump is operated. 16. A dialysis system comprising: a dialysis machine comprising a blood pump,a modular drug delivery device comprising at least one drug pump and a plurality of drug vial holders, anda housing to which the blood pump and the modular drug delivery device are secured;a blood line set comprising multiple blood lines and a vented chamber in fluid communication with the multiple blood lines, at least one of the blood lines being connected to the vented chamber, the blood line set being connected to the blood pump in a manner such that, when the blood line set is connected to a patient and the blood pump is operated, blood of the patient is passed through the blood line set;a drug line set comprising multiple drug lines, at least one of the drug lines of the drug line set being connected to the vented chamber of the blood line set, and the drug line set being connected to the at least one drug pump in a manner such that, when the drug line set is fluidly connected to one or more drug vials contained in the multiple drug vial holders and the at least one drug pump is operated, drug is delivered from the one or more drug vials to the vented chamber of the blood line set via the drug line set; anda control unit configured to operate the blood pump and the drug pump to simultaneously deliver drug and blood to the vented chamber via the at least one of the drug lines connected to the vented chamber and the at least one of the blood lines connected to the vented chamber, respectively. 17. A drug delivery device, comprising: a plurality of pumps extending from a surface of the drug delivery device; anda door having an inner surface and comprising a plurality of spring-loaded members exposed along the inner surface, each of the spring-loaded members defining a recess configured to receive a portion of one of the pumps when the door is closed, wherein, when a fluid line is positioned in the recess and the door is closed, the fluid line is compressed between the spring-loaded member and the pump in a manner such that the fluid line is occluded in at least one location;a plurality of air bubble detectors, each of the air bubble detectors being arranged to substantially align with a fluid line when fluid lines are positioned within the recesses of the door and the door is closed such that the air bubble detectors can detect air within the fluid lines; anda plurality of drug vial holders positioned above the plurality of pumps, each of the drug vial holders being configured to retain at least one drug vial,wherein the drug delivery device is configured to operate the pumps in a manner such that, when fluid lines are positioned in the recesses of the door, the door is closed, and each of the fluid lines is in fluid communication with a drug vial retained by one of the drug vial holders, an air bubble is passed through a drug delivery line connected to each of the fluid lines between the delivery of drug from consecutive vials. 18. The drug delivery device of claim 17, wherein the drug delivery device is configured to operate the pumps in a manner to pass an air bubble through the drug delivery line after completion of the delivery of drug from each vial. 19. The drug delivery device of claim 17, wherein the drug delivery device is part of a dialysis machine. 20. The drug delivery device of claim 19, wherein the fluid lines are connected to a blood circuit of the dialysis machine in a manner such that fluid is delivered through the fluid lines to the blood circuit when the pumps are operated. 21. A drug delivery device, comprising: a plurality of pumps extending from a surface of the drug delivery device;a door having an inner surface and comprising a plurality of spring-loaded member exposed along the inner surface, each of the spring-loaded members defining a recess configured to receive a portion of one of the pumps when the door is closed, a first adjustable spring being connected to the spring-loaded member and being secured to the door; anda plurality of air bubble detectors,wherein, when fluid lines are positioned in the recesses and the door is closed, the fluid lines are compressed between the spring-loaded members and the pumps in a manner such that the fluid lines are occluded in at least one location, and each of the air bubble detectors is arranged to substantially align with one of the fluid lines when the fluid lines are positioned within the recesses of the door and the door is closed such that the air bubble detectors can detect air within the fluid lines. 22. The drug delivery device of claim 21, further comprising a plurality of drug vial holders positioned above the plurality of pumps, each of the drug vial holders being configured to retain at least one drug vial. 23. The drug delivery device of claim 22, wherein the drug delivery device is configured to operate the pumps in a manner such that, when fluid lines are positioned in the recesses of the door, the door is closed, and each of the fluid lines is in fluid communication with a drug vial retained by one of the drug vial holders, an air bubble is passed through a drug delivery line connected to each of the fluid lines between the delivery of drug from consecutive vials. 24. The drug delivery device of claim 21, wherein the drug delivery device is configured to operate the pumps in a manner to pass an air bubble through the drug delivery line after completion of the delivery of drug from each vial. 25. The drug delivery device of claim 21, wherein the drug delivery device is part of a dialysis machine. 26. The drug delivery device of claim 25, wherein the fluid lines are connected to a blood circuit of the dialysis machine in a manner such that fluid is delivered through the fluid lines to the blood circuit when the pump is operated.
