A respiratory mask assembly for delivering breathable gas to a patient includes a frame having a front surface and a rear surface adapted in use to face the patient. The frame includes a main body providing an aperture therethrough for the introduction of breathable gas into a nasal breathing cavity. An elbow assembly is swivelably coupled to the front surface of the frame. The elbow assembly includes a swivel elbow that defines an intake port and an exhaust port separated from the intake port using a baffle. The elbow assembly includes an end portion that interfaces with the aperture of the frame.

A respiratory mask assembly for delivering breathable gas to a patient comprising: a mask frame comprising a left first connector portion and a right first connector portion, each first connector portion including a retaining structure retaining a magnet;a mask cushion attached to the mask frame;a headgear assembly comprising a left second connector portion and a right second connector portion adapted for interconnection with said left and right first connector portions of the mask frame, respectively, each of said left and right second connector portions having a magnet, wherein, once the left and right second connector portions are magnetically connected with the left and right first connector portions, they are locked or constrained against rotation such that they may not rotate relative to one another, wherein each of the first connector portions comprises a bore adapted to receive one of said magnets of said second connector portions, said second connector portions moving axially relative to said bore during assembly and disassembly. 2. A respiratory mask assembly according to claim 1, wherein at least one of the magnets includes neodymium. 3. A respiratory mask assembly according to claim 1, wherein the headgear assembly comprises left and right rigid plastic material portions each retaining the magnet of the respective left and right second connector portions. 4. A respiratory mask assembly according to claim 1, wherein the headgear assembly further comprises laminated fabric and foam. 5. A respiratory mask assembly according to claim 1, further comprising a tooth that is received within a corresponding recess upon assembly of the first and second connector portions. 6. A respiratory mask assembly according to claim 1, wherein each of the magnets of the second connector portions is adapted to move axially into and out of the bore when the mask frame is coupled to and decoupled from the headgear assembly. 7. A respiratory mask assembly according to claim 1, wherein each magnet retained by the retaining structure of the first connector portion is cylindrically shaped. 8. A respiratory mask assembly for delivering breathable gas to a patient, comprising: a frame having a main body and a side frame member provided on each lateral side of the main body, each side frame member including an integrally formed first connector portion, anda headgear assembly removably attachable to the frame, the headgear assembly having a second connector portion adapted to be removably coupled with the first connector portion provided on the frame,wherein the first connector portion and the second connector portion comprise a toothed system and are configured for rotationally locking the headgear assembly and the frame in a plurality of different rotational positions, such that the headgear assembly is rotationally adjustable with respect to the frame and at least one of the first and second connector portions has a magnet and the other of the first and second connector portions has a metal disk, and when the first and second connector portions are magnetically connected the headgear assembly and the frame are rotationally locked. 9. A respiratory mask assembly according to claim 8, wherein the first connector portion comprises a retaining structure and the second connector portion comprises a bore receiving one of the magnet or the metal disk. 10. A respiratory mask assembly according to claim 8, wherein the magnet includes neodymium. 11. A respiratory mask assembly according to claim 8, wherein either the first connector portion or the second connector portion comprises a recess and the other of the first and second connector portion comprises a plurality of teeth or wherein either one of the first connector portion or the second connector portion comprises a tooth and the other of the first and second connector portion comprises a plurality of recesses. 12. A respiratory mask assembly according to claim 11, wherein the first connector portion comprises one tooth and the second connector portion comprises a plurality of recesses that lie on a curve. 13. A respiratory mask assembly according to claim 8, wherein the first connector portion includes a retaining flange and a plurality of retaining tabs extending transversely from the retaining flange and the second connector portion includes a bore and a plurality of slots, and the retaining flange and the plurality of retaining tabs of the first connector portion, respectively, are axially insertable into the bore and the plurality of slots of the second connector portion. 14. A respiratory mask assembly according to claim 8, wherein the headgear assembly includes at least one strap portion, further comprising a member coupled between the at least one strap portion and the frame, said member including said second connector portion. 15. A respiratory mask assembly according to claim 14, wherein said member comprises a support structure associated with the at least one the strap portion. 16. A respiratory mask assembly according to claim 15, wherein the support structure is attached to the at least one strap portion. 17. A respiratory mask assembly according to claim 16, wherein the support structure is attached to the at least one strap portion by stitching. 18. A respiratory mask assembly according to claim 16, wherein the combined at least one strap portion and the support structure have a first flexibility in a first direction and a second flexibility in a second direction, generally orthogonal to the first direction. 19. A respiratory mask assembly according to claim 8, wherein the first and second connector portions are structured to be rotatably positioned in a decoupling position in which the connector portion may be decoupled, the decoupling position being outside the range of patient usable positions. 20. A respiratory mask assembly according to claim 8, wherein the first connector portion and the second connector portion are selectively lockable in at least three different positions within a range of patient usable positions. 21. A respiratory mask assembly according to claim 20, wherein the range of patient usable positions is between about 50°-100°. 22. A respiratory mask assembly according to claim 1, wherein the left and right second connector portions each include a boss, and the magnets of the second connector portions are contained within the bosses. 23. A respiratory mask assembly according to claim 22, wherein the bosses have shapes that match the shapes of the respective bores in the first connector portions. 24. A respiratory mask assembly according to claim 1, wherein each of the first connector portions includes a projection that interacts with a receiving portion of one of the second connector portions. 25. A respiratory mask assembly according to claim 24, wherein the projections and the receiving portions are configured to cooperate to rotationally lock the headgear assembly and the mask frame in at least one position.
