A cable transportation system comprising: a pull cable;at least one transportation unit configured to: (i) move along a designated path, and(ii) selectively connect to the pull cable by a coupling device;at least one passenger station positioned where the at least one transportation unit is detached from the pull cable; andan auxiliary drive device extending along the at least one passenger station and configured to move the at least one transportation unit along a portion of said designated path, said auxiliary drive device including a linear electric motor having a linear stator extending along said portion of said designated path, said linear stator including an elongated body having two opposite parallel faces, each facing a slide associated with the at least one transportation unit. 2. The cable transportation system of claim 1, wherein the linear electric motor includes the slide associated with said at least one transportation unit. 3. The cable transportation system of claim 2, wherein the slide and the linear stator are connected magnetically to each other along said portion of said designated path. 4. The cable transportation system of claim 2, wherein the linear electric motor is a synchronous linear electric motor. 5. The cable transportation system of claim 4, wherein the linear stator includes a succession of one selected from the group consisting of: a plurality of electric coils and a plurality of permanent magnets and the slide includes a group of one selected from the group consisting of: the plurality of permanent magnets and the plurality of electric coils. 6. The cable transportation system of claim 5, wherein each slide includes two sets of permanent magnets, each of said sets of permanent magnets facing the other of the sets of permanent magnets and both of the sets of permanent magnets facing the linear stator along said at least one passenger station. 7. The cable transportation system of claim 5, wherein the linear stator includes the succession of the plurality of electric coils powered selectively with electric energy. 8. The cable transportation system of claim 7, wherein each of the electric coils is powered independently of the other electric coils. 9. The cable transportation system of claim 7, wherein the electric coils are divided into groups, each of the groups of adjacent electric coils being powered independently of the other groups of electric coils. 10. The cable transportation system of claim 7, wherein the elongated body includes nonferrous material in which the electric coils are embedded. 11. The cable transportation system of claim 10, wherein the elongated body is defined by a succession of a plurality of adjacent modular units. 12. The cable transportation system of claim 7, including a control unit and a number of electric current intensity and electric current frequency modulators configured to power respective electric coils, said control unit supplying a number of regulating signals to each of the modulators which regulate the current intensity and current frequency to be supplied to the respective coils as a function of the regulating signal. 13. The cable transportation system of claim 12, including a quantity of sensors arranged successively along said portion of said designated path along said at least one passenger station, and each configured to emit a position signal related to the position of each of the at least one transportation unit. 14. The cable transportation system of claim 5, wherein the slide includes a succession of a plurality of electric coils. 15. The cable transportation system of claim 14, wherein the linear stator includes two sets of permanent magnets, each of said sets of permanent magnets facing the other of said sets of permanent magnets, and both of the sets of permanent magnets facing the electric coils of the slide. 16. The cable transportation system of claim 4, including a plurality of guides located parallel to the linear stator along the at least one passenger station, wherein the at least one transportation unit includes a trolley which configured to selectively engage said guides to keep the slide at a designated distance from the linear stator. 17. The cable transportation system of claim 16, wherein the trolley is configured to move with respect to the at least one transportation unit. 18. The cable transportation system of claim 17, wherein the trolley is fixed rigidly to the slide and hinged to said at least one transportation unit. 19. The cable transportation system of claim 17, including two rails extending along said designated path, wherein the at least one transportation unit includes a plurality of wheels configured to rest on said rails. 20. The cable transportation system of claim 16, wherein said at least one transportation unit is configured to be suspended from the pull cable by said coupling device. 21. The cable transportation system of claim 4, including a plurality of transportation units, each of said transportation units being associated with at least one slide. 22. The cable transportation system of claim 1, wherein the linear electric motor is an asynchronous linear electric motor including: a slide including a plurality of electric coils, anda stator including a metal blade. 23. The cable transportation system of claim 1, wherein the linear electric motor is an asynchronous linear electric motor including: the slide including a metal blade, anda stator including a plurality of electric coils. 24. A cable transportation system comprising: an auxiliary drive device including a linear electric motor configured to extend along a portion of a designated path, the linear electric motor including a linear stator extending along said portion of said designated path, said linear stator including an elongated body having two opposite parallel faces, each facing a slide associated with at least one transportation unit, said auxiliary drive device configured to: (i) extend along a passenger station positioned where at least one transportation unit is detachable from a pull cable, said at least one transportation unit configured to be selectively connected to the pull cable by a coupling device, and(ii) move the at least one transportation unit along the portion of the designated path. 25. The cable transportation system of claim 24, wherein the linear electric motor includes the slide configured to be associated with said at least one transportation unit. 26. The cable transportation system of claim 25, wherein the slide and the linear stator are connected magnetically to each other along said portion of said designated path. 27. The cable transportation system of claim 25, wherein the linear electric motor is a synchronous linear electric motor. 28. The cable transportation system of claim 27, wherein the linear stator includes a succession of one selected from the group consisting of: a plurality of electric coils and a plurality of permanent magnets and the slide includes a group of one selected from the group consisting of: the plurality of permanent magnets and the plurality of electric coils. 29. The cable transportation system of claim 24, wherein the linear electric motor is an asynchronous linear electric motor including: the slide including a plurality of electric coils, anda stator including a metal blade. 30. The cable transportation system of claim 24, wherein the linear electric motor is an asynchronous linear electric motor including: the slide including a metal blade, anda stator including a plurality of electric coils.
