A stand for use with a syringe is disclosed. The stand includes a base and a clip affixed to the base. The clip engages a portion of the syringe so as to removably secure the syringe to the stand in a position such that the distal end of the syringe is spaced vertically away from the base. Preferably, the syringe includes a handle extending outwardly from a barrel of the syringe, and the feature which the clip engages includes the handle of the syringe.

1. A stand and syringe combination, comprising: (a) a syringe having a proximal portion and a distal portion and a longitudinal axis extending between the proximal and distal portions, the distal portion of the syringe configured to dispense an injectable material therefrom, and the proximal portion of the syringe having an opening at a proximal end thereof sized to slidably receive a plunger rod therethrough; and(b) a stand comprising: (1) a base structured to allow the stand to stably rest on a supporting surface while in use; and(2) a support structure connected to the base, the support structure including an engagement surface shaped to substantially match a shape of a feature of the proximal portion of the syringe so as to form a pressure fit between the engagement surface and the feature, the pressure fit supporting the syringe in an orientation in which the distal portion of the syringe has a vertical position above a vertical position of the proximal portion of the syringe and the longitudinal axis of the syringe is maintained at an oblique angle relative to the supporting surface. 2. The combination of claim 1 further including a package portion integrated with the base of the stand, the package portion including a compartment for holding the syringe in a substantially horizontal position therein during transportation of the stand. 3. The combination of claim 2, wherein the package portion further includes a second compartment for receiving a component therein. 4. The combination of claim 1, wherein the engagement surface of the support structure defines a clip adapted to receive the feature of the syringe therein. 5. The combination of claim 4, wherein the syringe includes a handle extending outwardly from a barrel of the syringe, and wherein the feature which forms the pressure fit with the clip includes the handle of the syringe. 6. The combination of claim 5, wherein the syringe further includes a second handle extending outwardly from a barrel of the syringe, and wherein the feature which forms the pressure fit with the clip further includes the second handle of the syringe. 7. The combination of claim 5, wherein the clip includes a first surface and a second surface substantially parallel to each other, the first and second surfaces facing each other and being spaced apart such that the first surface contacts a first area of the handle and the second surface contacts a second area of the handle, the first and second areas of the handle being located on opposing sides thereof. 8. The combination of claim 7, wherein the base further includes a second engagement surface for contacting a portion of the barrel of the syringe near the proximal portion thereof so as to enhance the pressure fit between the clip and the handle of the syringe. 9. The combination of claim 7, wherein the second surface further includes a projection extending therefrom so as to contact a third area of the handle of the syringe. 10. The combination of claim 4, wherein the feature of the syringe is located near the proximal end of the syringe. 11. The combination of claim 10, wherein the feature of the syringe is located within 1.5 inches of the proximal end of the syringe. 12. The combination of claim 1, wherein the engagement surface of the support structure defines a protrusion extending from the base, and wherein the feature of the syringe which forms the pressure fit with the protrusion includes the opening in the proximal end of the syringe, the protrusion being structured so as to extend into the opening. 13. The combination of claim 12, wherein the opening is defined by a cylindrical inner periphery of a barrel of the syringe at the proximal end thereof. 14. The combination of claim 12, wherein the pressure fit between the protrusion and the opening is sufficient to maintain the syringe in the orientation. 15. The combination of claim 12, wherein the base includes a support adapted to engage a portion of the syringe located between the proximal end and a distal end thereof, and wherein the pressure fit between the protrusion and the opening together with the engagement between the support and the syringe act to maintain the syringe in the orientation. 16. The combination of claim 15, wherein the syringe includes a first handle and a second handle projecting outwardly from a barrel of the syringe, and wherein the support contacts the first and second handles when the syringe is supported in the orientation by the stand. 17. The combination of claim 16, wherein the handles of the syringe each include an interior surface, and wherein the support includes a first pedestal and a second pedestal, each of the first and second pedestals being positioned and shaped so as to project at least partially into the first and second handles, respectively, and wherein the first and second pedestals respectively include a first surface and a second surface arranged so as to contact a portion of the interior surfaces of the respective handles. 18. The combination of claim 17, wherein the first surface of the first pedestal and the second surface of the second pedestal are each spaced apart from the protrusion at least in a vertical direction and a lateral direction such that the pressure fit between the protrusion and the opening and the contact between the surfaces of the first and second pedestals and the respective first and second handles maintains the longitudinal axis of the syringe at the oblique angle. 19. The combination of claim 1, wherein the oblique angle is between 40 and 70 degrees. 20. The combination of claim 1, wherein the stand is formed from a thin, unitary piece of material that is molded to form a three-dimensional shape.
