Described herein is a mounting system and slider clips that support simplified installation of photovoltaic structures. The mounting system comprises a support structure which can be mounted to support columns via an optional tilt table. The support structure comprises a plurality of parallel spaced beams and a plurality of parallel spaced rails that are mounted approximately perpendicular to the beams. Disclosed embodiments describe a collapsible support structure in which the rails are pivotally mounted to the beams. Rails are preassembled with prefabricated slider clips for holding edge portions of the photovoltaic structures. Rails can also be integrally formed with slider clips. Described herein are also methods of installing one or more photovoltaic structures using the mounting system and methods for manufacturing slider clips and a photovoltaic structure mounting system.

The clip of claim 1, wherein the curved element forms a hook above the top section of the holding element. 3. The clip of claim 1, wherein the top surface of the bottom section has raised areas protruding to resist PV structure movement. 4. The clip of claim 3, wherein the raised areas comprise teeth and the teeth are angled towards the barrier of the holding element to hold the photovoltaic structure in place between the top and bottom sections of the holding element. 5. The clip of claim 3, wherein the bottom surface of the top section is resistant to PV structure movement. 6. A clip for holding a photovoltaic structure to a support element, said clip comprising: a S-shaped frame having an extended bottom portion for securing the clip to the support element, an extended top portion for holding a photovoltaic structure to the support element and a sidewall connecting one end of the bottom portion to one end of the top portion;a C-shaped holding element having a vertical barrier abutting the sidewall of the frame and connecting one end of a top section to one end of a bottom section, the top section being attached to the underside of the top portion of the frame and the bottom section being attached to the top surface of the support element; and,a fastening area for securing the clip to the support element, the fastening area comprising a flat middle section of the holding element extending perpendicular to a lower end of the barrier,wherein the extended bottom portion of the frame is located directly above the flat middle section of the holding element and the extended bottom portion of the frame and the flat middle section of the holding element share a common opening for passing a fastener to attach the clip to the support element. 7. The clip of claim 6, wherein the vertical barrier, top section and bottom section of the C-shaped holding element form a channel opening for holding an edge portion of the photovoltaic structure. 8. The clip of claim 6, wherein the extended top portion forms an angle less than 90 degrees with respect to the sidewall. 9. The clip of claim 6, wherein the extended bottom portion is flat. 10. The clip of claim 6, wherein the holding element serves as an electrical insulator for the photovoltaic structure. 11. The clip of claim 6, wherein the holding element is formed from a silicone rubber material. 12. The clip of claim 6, wherein the holding element is formed from Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer rubber. 13. The clip of claim 6, wherein the photovoltaic structure is a photovoltaic module. 14. The clip of claim 6, wherein the photovoltaic structure is a structure mounted with a plurality of photovoltaic modules. 15. A clip for holding a photovoltaic structure to a support element, said clip comprising: a S-shaped frame having an extended bottom portion for securing the clip to the support element, an extended top portion for holding a photovoltaic structure to the support element and a sidewall connecting one end of the bottom portion to one end of the top portion; anda C-shaped holding element having a vertical barrier abutting the sidewall of the frame and connecting one end of a top section to one end of a bottom section, the top section being attached to the underside of the top portion of the frame and the bottom section being attached to the top surface of the support element,wherein the extended top portion comprises a top surface and at least one structural feature located on the top surface such that the at least one structural feature cooperates with the respective holding element to hold the holding element in place with the frame,wherein the top surface of the bottom section has raised areas protruding to resist PV structure movement and the bottom section is at least partially covered with teeth extending the width of the bottom section. 16. The clip of claim 15, further comprising a fastening area for securing the clip to the support element said fastening area comprising a flat middle section of the holding element extending perpendicularly from a lower end of the vertical barrier and in a direction away from the bottom section of the holding element. 17. A clip for holding a photovoltaic structure to a support element, said clip comprising: two S-shaped frames each S-shaped frame having an extended bottom portion for securing the clip to the support element, an extended top portion for holding a photovoltaic structure to the support element and a sidewall connecting one end of the bottom portion to one end of the top portion, the two S-shaped frames sharing a common bottom portion, the top portions of the two frames extending in opposite directions from their respective sidewall; anda C-shaped holding element associated with each respective S-shaped frame, each C-shaped holding element having a vertical barrier abutting the sidewall of the frame and connecting one end of a top section to one end of a bottom section, the top section being attached to the underside of the top portion of the frame and the bottom section being attached to the top surface of the support element,wherein the extended top portion of each S-Shaped frame comprises a top surface and at least one structural feature located on the top surface such that the at least one structural feature cooperates with the respective holding element to hold the holding element in place with the frame,wherein one of the two extended top portions is longer than the other of the two extended top portions, and wherein the C-shaped holding element associated with the longer of the two extended top portions is longer than the C-shaped holding element associated with the shorter of the two extended top portions,wherein the clip further comprises a fastening area for allowing the clip to be attached to the support element, wherein each C-shaped holding element further comprises a flat middle section extending perpendicular to the lower end of the respective vertical barrier,wherein the two C-shaped holding elements share a common middle section connecting the vertical barriers of the two C-shaped holding elements.
