A surgical blade is disclosed for use with a surgical tool for making incisions in the sclera of an eye to form a scleral pocket to receive a scleral prosthesis. The surgical blade comprises a rotatable support arm capable of being rotated by the surgical tool and a detachable curved cutting blade for making incisions in the sclera of an eye. The surgical tool causes the curved cutting blade to advance through the sclera to form an incision having dimensions to receive a scleral prosthesis. When the incision is complete the curved cutting blade is detached from the rotatable support arm. The curved cutting blade is then removed from the incision by pulling the curved cutting blade forward out of the incision. The incision has the exact dimensions to receive a scleral prosthesis.

1. A surgical blade, comprising: a cutting blade configured to be moved by a surgical tool through scleral tissue of an eye to make an incision, the cutting blade comprising: a blade portion;a detachable scleral eye implant prosthesis having a first end attached to the blade portion; anda detachable tip attached to a second end of the detachable scleral eye implant prosthesis;wherein the cutting blade is configured such that movement of the cutting blade causes: the detachable tip to enter the scleral tissue of the eye before the detachable scleral eye implant prosthesis enters the scleral tissue of the eye; andthe detachable tip to exit the scleral tissue of the eye while the detachable scleral eye implant prosthesis remains in the incision in the scleral tissue of the eye. 2. The surgical blade of claim 1, wherein the detachable scleral eye implant prosthesis comprises a prosthesis configured to increase an effective working distance of a ciliary muscle of the eye. 3. The surgical blade of claim 1, further comprising: a support arm detachably coupled to the cutting blade, the support arm configured to be coupled to a drive shaft of the surgical tool, the drive shaft configured to move the support arm. 4. The surgical blade of claim 1, wherein the cutting blade is configured to make the incision in the scleral tissue of approximately one and one half millimeters wide. 5. The surgical blade of claim 1, wherein the cutting blade is configured to make the incision in the scleral tissue of approximately four millimeters long. 6. The surgical blade of claim 1, wherein the cutting blade is configured to make the incision in the scleral tissue approximately four hundred microns under a surface of the scleral tissue. 7. The surgical blade of claim 1, wherein the cutting blade is curved and is configured to be rotated through an anterior surface of the scleral tissue of the eye without passing through a posterior surface of the scleral tissue of the eye. 8. A surgical tool, comprising: a cutting blade configured to be moved through scleral tissue of an eye to make an incision, the cutting blade comprising: a blade portion;a detachable scleral eye implant prosthesis having a first end attached to the blade portion; anda detachable tip attached to a second end of the detachable scleral eye implant prosthesis; anda drive shaft configured to move the cutting blade through the scleral tissue of the eye;wherein the cutting blade is configured such that movement of the cutting blade by the drive shaft causes: the detachable tip to enter the scleral tissue of the eye before the detachable scleral eye implant prosthesis enters the scleral tissue of the eye; andthe detachable tip to exit the scleral tissue of the eye while the detachable scleral eye implant prosthesis remains in the incision in the scleral tissue of the eye. 9. The surgical tool of claim 8, wherein the detachable scleral eye implant prosthesis comprises a prosthesis configured to increase an effective working distance of a ciliary muscle of the eye. 10. The surgical tool of claim 8, further comprising a support arm detachably coupled to the cutting blade, the support arm also configured to be coupled to the drive shaft; wherein the drive shaft is configured to move the cutting blade through the scleral tissue of the eye by moving the support arm. 11. The surgical tool of claim 8, wherein: the cutting blade is configured to make the incision in the scleral tissue of approximately one and one half millimeters wide and approximately four millimeters long; andthe cutting blade is configured to make the incision approximately four hundred microns under a surface of the scleral tissue. 12. The surgical tool of claim 8, wherein the cutting blade is curved and is configured to be rotated through an anterior surface of the scleral tissue of the eye without passing through a posterior surface of the scleral tissue of the eye. 13. A surgical blade comprising: a support arm comprising a first end and a second end, the first end configured to be coupled to a surgical tool, the surgical tool configured to rotate the support arm; anda curved cutting blade coupled to the second end of the support arm, the curved cutting blade configured to rotate in response to rotation of the support arm in order to move through scleral tissue of an eye to make an incision, the curved cutting blade curved along its length in a direction of rotation, the curved cutting blade comprising: a blade portion;a detachable scleral eye implant prosthesis having a first end attached to the blade portion; anda detachable tip attached to a second end of the detachable scleral eye implant prosthesis;wherein the curved cutting blade is configured such that rotation of the curved cutting blade by the support arm causes: the detachable tip to enter the scleral tissue of the eye before the detachable scleral eye implant prosthesis enters the scleral tissue of the eye; andthe detachable tip to exit the scleral tissue of the eye while the detachable scleral eye implant prosthesis remains in the incision in the scleral tissue of the eye. 14. The surgical blade of claim 13, wherein the detachable scleral eye implant prosthesis comprises a prosthesis configured to increase an effective working distance of a ciliary muscle of the eye. 15. The surgical blade of claim 13, wherein the blade portion and the detachable scleral eye implant prosthesis meet at the first end of the detachable scleral eve implant prosthesis along a first interface that spans a width of the curved cutting blade, and the detachable tip and the detachable scleral eye implant prosthesis meet at the second end of the detachable scleral eye implant prosthesis along a second interface that spans the width of the curved cutting blade. 16.
