A glucose measurement system, comprising: a glucose measuring device comprising a radio frequency identification (RFID) reader, electronics configured to receive one or more signals indicative of a glucose level in a sample and determine the glucose level based on the one or more signals, and a display for providing the determined glucose level;a circuit board;an RFID chip mounted on the circuit board;an in vivo glucose sensor coupled to the circuit board and in signal communication with the RFID chip;a memory for storing digitally encoded data representing a monitored glucose level detected by the in vivo glucose sensor; andan antenna coupled to the circuit board and in signal communication with the RFID chip; wherein the RFID reader of the glucose measuring device is configured to receive the digitally encoded data representing the monitored glucose level when the RFID chip is within a predetermined range of the RFID reader. 2. The glucose measurement system of claim 1, wherein the glucose measuring device comprises a port for receiving a glucose test strip. 3. The glucose measurement system of claim 1, wherein the antenna includes a loop antenna. 4. The glucose measurement system of claim 3, wherein the loop antenna includes a conducting loop that is disposed around a perimeter of the circuit board and electrically coupled to the in vivo glucose sensor. 5. The glucose measurement system of claim 1, wherein the display is configured to display a communication activatable when the glucose level indicates hyperglycemia. 6. The glucose measurement system of claim 1, wherein the display is configured to display a communication activatable when the glucose level indicates hypoglycemia. 7. The glucose measurement system of claim 1, wherein the display is configured to display a communication activatable when the glucose level indicates impending hyperglycemia. 8. The glucose measurement system of claim 1, wherein the display is configured to display a communication activatable when the glucose level indicates impending hypoglycemia. 9. The glucose measurement system of claim 1, wherein the glucose measurement system further comprises application software configured to determine trending of the glucose level based at least in part on the determined glucose level. 10. The glucose measurement system of claim 9, wherein the application software is configured to communicate with the display such that visual indicators of glucose level trending are displayed to a user of the glucose measurement system. 11. The glucose measurement system of claim 1, wherein the glucose measurement system further comprises application software configured to communicate with the display such that a visual representation of the glucose level over time is provided to a user of the glucose measurement system. 12. The glucose measurement system of claim 1, wherein the glucose measuring device further comprises a communication unit. 13. The glucose measurement system of claim 12, wherein the communication unit is configured to wirelessly receive data and/or application programs from a computer and/or data network. 14. The glucose measurement system of claim 1, wherein the glucose measuring device is configured for serial port connection or USB connection to a personal computer or hand-held computing device. 15. A glucose measurement device, comprising: a circuit board;an RFID chip mounted on the circuit board;an in vivo glucose sensor coupled to the circuit board and in signal communication with the RFID chip;a memory for storing digitally encoded data representing a monitored glucose level detected by the in vivo glucose sensor; andan antenna coupled to the circuit board and in signal communication with the RFID chip; wherein the RFID chip is configured to communicate data corresponding to the monitored glucose level detected by the in vivo glucose sensor in response to an interrogation signal. 16. The glucose measurement device of claim 15, wherein the memory further stores data representing one or more of a lot information associated with the in vivo glucose sensor, a calibration code associated with the in vivo glucose sensor, or a glucose sensor expiration information. 17. The glucose measurement device of claim 15, wherein the antenna is disposed around a perimeter of the circuit board and electrically coupled to the in vivo glucose sensor. 18. The glucose measurement device of claim 15, wherein the glucose measurement device further comprises application software configured to determine trending of a glucose level based at least in part on the determined glucose level. 19. The glucose measurement device of claim 15, wherein the digitally encoded data representing the monitored glucose level includes a current real time glucose level and a plurality of prior glucose level data detected by the in vivo glucose sensor and stored in the memory as digitally encoded data. 20. The glucose measurement device of claim 15, wherein the interrogation signal is received from an RFID reader when the RFID reader is within a predetermined range of the RFID chip.
