The kit of claim 1, wherein the locking mechanism comprises a solenoid positioned to engage the cover, and wherein the solenoid retracts and disengages from the cover. 6. The kit of claim 1, further comprising take and return switches configured to monitor a quantity of items in the compartment. 7. The kit of claim 1, wherein the computer is further configured to monitor if a correct compartment is opened and closed. 8. The kit of claim 1, further comprising an alarm configured to be set off after the cover has been opened for a preset amount of time. 9. The kit of claim 1, further comprising a detector mounted in each of the drawer, and configured to detect when the cover is opened and to send an open signal to the computer when the cover has been opened. 10.
