An oxygen concentrator apparatus, comprising: at least two canisters;gas separation adsorbent disposed in the at least two canisters, wherein the gas separation adsorbent separates at least some nitrogen from air in the at least two canisters to produce oxygen enriched gas;a compression system coupled to at least one of the canisters, wherein the compression system compresses air during operation, and wherein the compression system comprises a motor coupled to a compressor, wherein the motor comprises a stationary electric field generating portion and a rotating armature external to the stationary electric field generating portion, wherein rotation of the rotating armature drives the operation of the compressor;a compressor outlet conduit coupling the compression system to at least one of the canisters, wherein compressed air is transferred from the compression system to at least one of the canisters through the compressor outlet conduit, andat least one air transfer device, wherein the at least one air transfer device creates an air flow during use, and wherein the at least one air transfer device is coupled to the rotating armature, and wherein the at least one coupled air transfer device creates an air flow when the rotating armature rotates, and wherein the created airflow passes over at least a portion of the motor and at least a portion of the compressor outlet conduit. 2. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein at least a portion of the compressor outlet conduit is positioned proximate to at least a portion of the motor such that the airflow produced by the at least one air transfer device substantially simultaneously passes over at least a portion of the motor and at least a portion of the compressor outlet conduit. 3. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein at least a portion of the compressor outlet conduit is coiled around at least a portion of the motor such that the airflow produced by the at least one air transfer device substantially simultaneously passes over at least a portion of the motor and at least a portion of the compressor outlet conduit. 4. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein at least a majority of the compressor outlet conduit is positioned proximate to at least a portion of the motor such that the airflow produced by the at least one air transfer device substantially simultaneously passes over at least a portion of the motor and at least a portion of the compressor outlet conduit. 5. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the motor is a DC motor. 6. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the compressor is a wobble piston compressor. 7. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein at least a portion of the compressor outlet conduit is composed of a heat exchange metal. 8. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the at least two canisters comprise a first canister containing gas separation adsorbent and a second canister containing gas separation adsorbent;the apparatus further comprising one or more conduits coupling the first canister to the second canister;wherein the first canister, the second canister, and one or more of the conduits are integrated into a molded housing. 9. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the apparatus further comprises an accumulation chamber coupled to one or more of the canisters, wherein oxygen enriched gas produced in one or more of the canisters is passed into the accumulation chamber during use. 10. The apparatus of claim 9, further comprising an oxygen sensor coupled to the accumulation chamber, wherein the oxygen sensor is capable of detecting oxygen in a gas during use. 11. The apparatus of claim 1, further comprising: one or more conduits coupled to one or more of the canisters,an airway delivery device coupled to one or more of the conduits and positionable on the face of a user;a pressure sensor coupled to the airway delivery device; wherein the pressure sensor is operable to detect a change in pressure at the airway delivery device; anda processor coupled to the pressure sensor, wherein the processor is operable to execute program instructions, wherein the program instructions are operable to direct oxygen enriched gas from one or more of the canisters through one or more of the conduits to the airway delivery device in response to detecting a drop in pressure at the airway delivery device. 12. The apparatus of claim 11, wherein the program instructions are further operable to produce an alarm or other signal in response to an absence of a drop in pressure for a predetermined amount of time. 13. The apparatus of claim 11, further comprising a valve positioned between one or more of the conduits and the airway delivery device, wherein the valve controls release of oxygen enriched gas from one or more of the canisters such that a pulse of the oxygen enriched gas passes through the airway delivery device. 14. The apparatus of claim 13, further comprising a processor coupled to the valve, wherein the processor is operable to execute program instructions, wherein the program instructions are operable to control the operation of the valve to provide two or more pulses of the oxygen enriched gas to the airway delivery device during each breathing cycle. 15. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the at least two canisters comprise a first canister containing gas separation adsorbent and a second canister containing gas separation adsorbent; andthe apparatus further comprising one or more conduits coupling the first canister to the second canister;wherein one or more of the conduits couple the first canister to the second canister such that at least part of the oxygen enriched gas from the first canister is diverted through the second canister during at least part of a venting process of the second canister; andwherein one or more of the conduits couple the first canister to the second canister such that at least part of the oxygen enriched gas from the second canister is diverted through the first canister during at least part of a venting process of the first canister. 16. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein an outlet of one or more of the canisters is positioned such that gas exiting the one or more canisters during a venting process is directed toward the at least one air transfer device. 17. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the oxygen concentrator apparatus has a weight of less than about 5 lbs. 18. An oxygen concentrator apparatus, comprising: at least two canisters;gas separation adsorbent disposed in the at least two canisters, wherein the gas separation adsorbent separates at least some nitrogen from air in the at least two canisters to produce oxygen enriched gas;a compression system, the compression system comprising: a compressor coupled to at least one of the canisters, wherein the compressor compresses air during operation; anda motor coupled to the compressor, wherein the motor drives the operation of the compressor; wherein the motor comprises a stationary electric field generating portion and a rotating armature external to the stationary electric field generating portion, wherein rotation of the rotating armature drives the operation of the compressor; andat least one air transfer device coupled to the rotating armature, and wherein the at least one coupled air transfer device creates an air flow when the rotating armature rotates,a compressor outlet conduit coupling the compressor to at least one of the canisters, wherein compressed air is transferred from the compressor to at least one of the canisters through the compressor outlet conduit,wherein an outlet of one or more of the canisters is positioned such that gas exiting one or more of the canisters during a venting process is directed toward the at least one air transfer device, and wherein the at least one air transfer device directs the vented gas toward: at least a portion of the motor; at least a portion of the compressor; at least a portion of the compressor outlet conduit; or combinations thereof, during use.
