A method of forming a compression sleeve for being wrapped around a leg of a wearer includes securing two layers of flexible material together to at least partially define first and second adjacent flexible sections. The sleeve includes a first inflatable bladder and a second inflatable bladder disposed more proximally than the first inflatable bladder when the sleeve is wrapped around the leg. The method further includes securing a structural component to the sleeve such that the structural component extends generally between the first and second adjacent flexible sections to maintain a spacing between the sleeve sections lengthwise of the leg when the sleeve is wrapped around the leg. The bladder layers are joined together at least at two weld points on opposite sides of the structural component to locate the structural component on the sleeve so as to maintain the spacing of the adjacent sleeve sections.

1. A method of forming a compression sleeve for being wrapped around a leg of a wearer, the method comprising: securing two layers of flexible material together to at least partially define first and second adjacent flexible sections, the securing of said two layers of flexible material comprising securing two bladder layers together to define a first inflatable bladder and a second inflatable bladder disposed more proximally than the first inflatable bladder when the sleeve is wrapped around the leg, the first bladder forming at least a part of the first flexible sleeve section and the second bladder forming at least a part of the second flexible sleeve section;securing a structural component to the sleeve such that the structural component extends generally between the first and second adjacent flexible sections to maintain a spacing between the sleeve sections lengthwise of the leg when the sleeve is wrapped around the leg; andjoining the bladder layers together at least at two weld points on opposite sides of the structural component to locate the structural component on the sleeve so as to maintain the spacing of the adjacent sleeve sections. 2. A method as set forth in claim 1 wherein securing said structural component comprises locating a bladder tube between the first and second sleeve sections. 3. A method as set forth in claim 2 wherein locating the bladder tube comprises securing the bladder tube at a location where the bladder tube extends at least one quarter of the way across the second flexible sleeve section. 4. A method as set forth in claim 3 wherein the bladder tube constitutes a first structural component, the method further comprising securing a second structural component to the sleeve so that the second structural component extends between the first and second flexible sleeve sections to maintain a spacing between the sleeve sections lengthwise of the leg when the sleeve is wrapped around the leg. 5. A method as set forth in claim 4 wherein securing the second structural component comprises securing a generally dog bone shaped piece between the first and second flexible sleeve sections. 6. A method as set forth in claim 1 wherein said securing two bladder layers together further defines spaced apart bridge members extending between the first and second bladders, the structural component extending within at least one of the bridge members. 7. A method as set forth in claim 1 wherein joining the bladder layers together comprises joining the bladder layers together at spot welds. 8. A method as set forth in claim 7 wherein the spot welds include a first pair of spot welds on opposite sides of the structural component at a first location and a second pair of spot welds on opposite sides of the structural component at a second location, spaced from the first location. 9. A method as set forth in claim 1 wherein said securing two bladder layers together further defines a connecting section extending between the first and second bladders, and wherein joining the bladder layers together comprises joining the bladder layers together at spot welds, a first pair of spot welds being located adjacent one end of the connecting section and a second pair of spot welds being located adjacent an opposite end of the connecting section. 10. A method as set forth in claim 9 wherein the connecting section defines a knee opening for being located at a knee of the wearer, and defines bridge members disposed on opposite sides of the knee opening between the adjacent flexible sleeve sections, the structural component extending through one of the bridge members. 11. A method as set forth in claim 10 further comprising locating the spot welds generally at opposite ends of said one bridge member. 12. A method as set forth in claim 1 further comprising forming a cutout in at least one of said bladder layers so that at least a portion of the structural component is received in the cutout. 13. A method as set forth in claim 1 further comprising extending the structural component at least about one quarter of the way across said second flexible sleeve section. 14. A method of forming a compression sleeve as set forth in claim 1 wherein the weld points are located outside compression regions of the first and second inflatable bladders. 15. A method of forming a compression sleeve for being wrapped around a leg of a wearer, the method comprising: securing two layers of flexible material together to at least partially define first and second adjacent flexible sections, the securing of said two layers of flexible material comprising securing two bladder layers together to define a first inflatable bladder and a second inflatable bladder disposed more proximally than the first inflatable bladder when the sleeve is wrapped around the leg, the first bladder forming at least a part of the first flexible sleeve section and the second bladder forming at least a part of the second flexible sleeve section;securing a structural component to the sleeve such that the structural component extends generally between the first and second adjacent flexible sections to maintain a spacing between the sleeve sections lengthwise of the leg when the sleeve is wrapped around the leg;said securing two layers of flexible material together further forming a connecting section defining a knee opening for being located at a knee of the wearer, the connecting section defining bridge members disposed on opposite sides of the knee opening between the adjacent flexible sleeve sections, the structural component extending through one of the bridge members; andjoining the bladder layers together at a first pair of spot welds on opposite sides of the structural component at a first location and at a second pair of spot welds on opposite sides of the structural component at a second location spaced from the first location to locate the structural component on the sleeve so as to maintain the spacing of the adjacent sleeve sections. 16. A method of forming a compression sleeve as set forth in claim 15 wherein the first location of the first pair of spot welds is at one end of said one bridge member and the second location of the second pair of spot welds is at an opposite end of said one bridge member.
