A method of operating a jukebox system, connected to a distribution network controlled by a host server, the method comprising: causing a customer interface to be displayed on the jukebox system, the customer interface comprising a first set of options for enabling at least one song to be selected and subsequently played back via the jukebox system upon receipt of payment at the jukebox system;wherein the customer interface further comprises a second set of options enabling users of the jukebox system, via the jukebox system, to pay admission fees for artistic events shown on a display of or operably connected to the jukebox system, the shown artistic events being upcoming events determined to correspond with performers who perform selected and/or played back songs, andwherein the payment of the admission fees are receivable via a fee payment device associated with the jukebox system. 2. The method of claim 1, further comprising causing a display of the jukebox system to display at least one image or animation describing at least one upcoming artistic event. 3. The method of claim 2, wherein the at least one upcoming artistic event is physically proximate to where the jukebox device is located. 4. The method of claim 2, wherein the at least one image or animation is downloaded to the jukebox system and played therefrom. 5. The method of claim 2, further comprising causing the display of the at least one image or animation at predefined regular intervals. 6. The method of claim 2, further comprising causing the display of the at least one image or animation after music performed by an artist participating in the at least one upcoming artistic event is played back. 7. The method of claim 1, wherein the second set of options includes information regarding different possible booking dates for the at least one artistic event and type(s) of seats available. 9. The method of claim 8, wherein the second set of options further includes information regarding possible payment mechanisms for the potential ticket purchasers. 10. The method of claim 1, wherein the jukebox system further includes a printer configured to print entry tickets for a purchased artistic event. 11. The method of claim 1, wherein the jukebox device further comprises a song request routine configured to request at least one new song for download from the host server to the jukebox system. 12. The method of claim 11, wherein the customer interface further comprises a third set of options enabling users to select one or more songs not yet available on the jukebox system for download thereto. 13. The method of claim 12, further comprising sending a request to the host server to request that the selected song be downloaded from the host server to the jukebox system when a number of times that a same song is selected exceeds a predetermined threshold. 14. The method of claim 1, further comprising causing a questionnaire to be displayed following the purchase of a song for playback. 15. The method of claim 14, wherein the questionnaire solicits information about the user who caused the playback of the song. 16.
