The user interface includes a plurality of user input devices coupled to the microcontroller and configured to provide signaling to the microcontroller based upon a user's engagement therewith, the plurality of user input devices configured to allow the user to create an irrigation schedule; and a user display coupled to the microcontroller and configured to display irrigation parameters associated with the irrigation schedule. The irrigation controllers of claim 1, wherein the irrigation schedule defines irrigation for plurality of a plurality of irrigation zones, wherein the microcontroller is configured to cause the user display to display at least one of the next irrigation start day and the next irrigation start time scheduled to occur for all of the plurality of irrigation zones. 4. An irrigation controller, comprising: a housing;a microcontroller within the housing and configured to store and execute an irrigation schedule;a valve driver coupled to the microcontroller and configured to output a zone activation signal to an actuatable zone valve in response to signaling from the microcontroller; anda user interface integrated with the housing and comprising: a plurality of user input devices coupled to the microcontroller and configured to provide signaling to the microcontroller based upon a user's engagement therewith, the plurality of user input devices configured to allow the user to create an irrigation schedule; anda user display coupled to the microcontroller and configured to display irrigation parameters associated with the irrigation schedule, whereinthe microcontroller is configured to cause the user display to display system variables associated with a plurality of upcoming irrigation events together to the user. 5. An irrigation controller, comprising: a housing;a microcontroller within the housing and configured to store and execute an irrigation schedule, wherein the irrigation schedule is subject to a water use restriction limiting one or more of an irrigation start day and an irrigation start time;a valve driver coupled to the microcontroller and configured to output a zone activation signal to an actuatable zone valve in response to signaling from the microcontroller; anda user interface integrated with the housing and comprising: a plurality of user input devices coupled to the microcontroller and configured to provide signaling to the microcontroller based upon a user's engagement therewith, the plurality of user input devices configured to allow the user to create an irrigation schedule; anda user display coupled to the microcontroller and configured to display irrigation parameters associated with the irrigation schedule, whereinthe microcontroller is configured to cause the user display to display the water use restriction to the user. 6. The irrigation controller of claim 5, wherein the water use restriction defines one or more time periods where irrigation by the irrigation controller is not permitted. 7. The irrigation controller of claim 5, wherein the water use restriction is defined by a local or regional governmental authority. 8. The irrigation controller of claim 5, wherein the programming of the water use restriction is limited to a non-user of the irrigation controller. 9. An irrigation controller, comprising: a housing;a microcontroller within the housing and configured to store and execute an irrigation schedule, wherein the irrigation schedule is subjectable to a water use restriction limiting one or more of an irrigation start day and irrigation start time;a valve driver coupled to the microcontroller and configured to output a zone activation signal to an actuatable zone valve in response to signaling from the microcontroller; anda user interface integrated with the housing and comprising: a plurality of user input devices coupled to the microcontroller and configured to provide signaling to the microcontroller based upon a user's engagement therewith, the plurality of user input devices configured to allow the programming of a water use restriction; anda user display coupled to the microcontroller and configured to display system variables associated with the water use restriction, whereinthe microcontroller is configured to cause the user display to display the water use restriction. 10. The irrigation controller of claim 9, wherein the plurality of user input devices is further configured to allow setting of a password to prevent adjustment of the water use restriction. 11. The irrigation controller of claim 9, wherein the water use restriction defines one or more time periods where irrigation by the irrigation controller is not permitted. 12. The irrigation controller of claim 9, wherein the water use restriction is defined by a local or regional governmental authority. 13. The irrigation controller of claim 9, wherein the programming of the water use restriction is limited to a non-user of the irrigation controller. 14. An irrigation controller, comprising: a housing;a microcontroller within the housing and configured to store a password;a valve driver coupled to the microcontroller and configured to output a zone activation signal to an actuatable zone valve in response to signaling from the microcontroller; anda user interface integrated with the housing and comprising: a plurality of user input devices coupled to the microcontroller and configured to provide signaling to the microcontroller based upon a user's engagement therewith, the plurality of user input devices configured to allow entry of the password to unlock password protected functionality of the controller, whereinthe microcontroller is configured to cause a user display to display system variables associated with the password. 15. The irrigation controller of claim 14, wherein the plurality of user input devices are further configured to allow entering of the password to password protect the functionality of the controller. 16. The irrigation controller of claim 14, wherein the microcontroller is programmed with the password. 17. The irrigation controller of claim 14, wherein the password protected feature comprises an additional functionality of the irrigation controller. 18. The irrigation controller of claim 14, wherein the user display is within the housing and is coupled to the microcontroller. 19. An irrigation controller, comprising: a housing;a microcontroller within the housing;a valve driver coupled to the microcontroller and configured to output zone activation signals to an actuatable zone valve in response to signaling from the microcontroller; anda user interface integrated with the housing and coupled to the microcontroller and configured to receive one or more irrigation schedule related user inputs; wherein the microcontroller is configured to execute a variable irrigation duration adjustment schedule based at least in part on the one or more irrigation schedule related user inputs to cause the valve driver to output the zone activation signals according to the variable irrigation duration adjustment schedule. 20. The irrigation controller of claim 19 wherein the one or more irrigation schedule related user inputs comprises a high irrigation duration adjust value, a low irrigation duration adjust value, and a high month adjust value. 21. The irrigation controller of claim 19 wherein the variable irrigation duration adjustment schedule comprises an irrigation duration adjustment value for each month-of-year and the microcontroller is configured to automatically control the valve driver based on the irrigation duration adjustment value associated with a current month-of-year. 22. The irrigation controller of claim 21 wherein the microcontroller is configured to automatically switch from one irrigation duration adjustment value to another irrigation duration adjustment value as the current month-of-year changes. 23. The irrigation controller of claim 19 wherein the variable irrigation duration adjustment schedule comprises a plurality of percentage adjustments to an irrigation duration of an irrigation schedule. 24. The irrigation controller of claim 19 wherein the microcontroller is configured to determine the variable irrigation duration adjustment schedule based at least in part on the one or more irrigation schedule related user inputs. 25. The irrigation controller of claim 19 wherein the variable irrigation duration adjustment schedule defines a schedule of automatic switching between a plurality of irrigation duration adjustment values for a given zone. 26. The irrigation controller of claim 19 wherein the variable irrigation duration adjustment schedule defines a schedule of automatic switching between a plurality of irrigation duration adjustment values, each irrigation duration adjustment value applicable to all zones controlled by the irrigation controller. 27. The irrigation controller of claim 19 wherein the variable irrigation duration adjustment schedule defines a schedule of automatic switching between a plurality of irrigation duration adjustment values, the plurality of irrigation duration adjustment values being stored in a memory of the irrigation controller with only one of the irrigation duration adjustment values active for a given time period defined by the variable irrigation adjustment duration schedule.
