A wheel device may be attached to each of the first and second shells. Each of these wheel devices may include a hub rotatably attached to a respective shell. A tire may be attached to the hub for rolling on the supporting surface when the tire portion and hub are rotated about this axis of rotation. The tire portion may include a series of tire segments. At least some of the segments may be attached to the hub portion by a hinge. The luggage of claim 1, wherein the main body includes a first side, a second side substantially parallel to and spaced apart from the first side, and at least one reinforced corner that extends from the first side to the second side. 9. The luggage of claim 1, wherein a bottom end portion of the luggage case has a width that is greater than a top end portion of the luggage case. 10. The luggage of claim 1, wherein the axis of rotation is substantially parallel to a support surface. 11. The luggage of claim 1, wherein the axis of rotation extends at a slight camber relative to a surface of the main body. 12. The luggage of claim 1, wherein the at least one wheel includes a hub, and the hub comprises at least one an arc shaped indentation that receives a corresponding arc segment of the at least one arc segment when said corresponding arc segment is positioned in the storage position.
