The present application discloses a fast-setting mineral trioxide aggregate (MTA) with fluoride release for practical treatment of diseases in teeth and bone, e.g. for caries treatment and/or prevention. The cariostatic MTA contain calcia-silica-alumina cement with moderately increased tricalcium aluminate content allowing high calcium hydroxide release. The MTA composition support remineralization and biomineralization, and it is suitable for stimulation of hard tissue regeneration. MTA embodiments contain superplasticizer and nanosilicate for improved mechanical properties. The MTA compositions include optional radiocontrast and nano-enriched leachable fluorine, nitrate, strontium, and phosphate. The fast-setting MTA paste exhibits flow-to-clay-like consistency, which allows new practical applications including cavity lining, temporary restoration, bonding, and cementations in one MTA embodiment. The high calcium hydroxide and high fluoride release are suitable for caries prevention and treatment, and per se inhibition of dental symptoms.

A fluoride mineral trioxide aggregate dental material for use in caries treatment which comprises: a) more than 50%, a flash setting high aluminate cement powder or portland cement-like powder without gypsum addition, comprising: more than 60% calcium oxide (C);more than 15% silica (S), such that it comprise more than 50% calcium silicates including alite (tricalcium silicate or C3S) and belite (dicalcium silicate or C2S), with a C/S ratio above 2.0;more than 3% alumina (A), such that it comprises more than 7% calcium aluminates (CA);less than 10% sulphates (SO3);altogether with a particle surface area of more than 200 m2/kg; andb) 0.001-49.9% by dry weight of one or more fluorine-containing additives with a particle surface area of 200 to 300,000 m2/kg; andc) 1-49.9% by dry weight of one or more further additives with a particle surface area of 200 to 300,000 m2/kg; andd) a hydration liquid optionally comprising more than 0.001% by weight of the liquid of one or more soluble powder additives; ande) 0.001-10.0% by weight of the liquid of one or more superplasticizers; and wherein said hydration liquid, d), constitutes 10-45% by weight based on the total MTA weight of a)-e). 2. The dental material according to claim 1, wherein one or more fluoride-containing additives, b), are selected from finely particulated calcium fluoride (CaF2), stannous fluoride (SnF2), strontium fluoride (SrF2), calcium monofluorophosphate (Ca2FPO3), sodium monofluorophosphate (Na2FPO3), sodium hexafluorosilicate (Na2SiF6), fluoroapatite (Ca5(PO4)3F), organic fluoride/amine fluoride (Org/AmF), and mixtures thereof. 3. The dental material according to claim 1, which comprises 0.1-20% by dry weight of one or more fluorine-containing additives. 4. The dental material according to claim 1, wherein the further additive, c), includes a radiopacitizer with one or more kinds of atoms having an atomic weight which is higher than the atom weight of calcium. 5. The dental material according to claim 1, wherein the superplasticizer is selected from polycarboxylic acid or derivatives, polycarboxylate acid derivatives or salts thereof, polycarboxylates such as sodium polycarboxylate, including polyacid-based compounds containing additional hydroxyl groups, polycarboxylate ethers, polyethercarboxylates, polyetherpolycarboxylates, di- or higher ester of polycarboxylic acid, acrylic acids, acrylates, acrylic acid derivatives or salts thereof, PMMA (polymethylmethacrylate), copolymers of acrylic acid and polyacrylic acids. 6. The dental material according to claim 1, wherein the hydration liquid comprises i) 0.001-10.0% by weight of the liquid of one or more superplasticizers; and ii) more than 0.001% by weight of the liquid of one or more soluble powder additives; and water. 7. A kit for the preparation of the dental material of claim 1, comprising i) a first container comprises the ingredients a)-c), and ii) a second container comprises hydration liquid d). 8. A kit for the preparation of the dental material of claim 1, comprising i) a first container comprising the ingredients a)-c) and at least a portion of the one or more superplasticizers and/or the one or more soluble powder additives, and ii) a second container comprising the remaining components of the hydration liquid d). 9. A kit for the preparation of the dental material of claim 1, comprising i) a first container comprising the ingredients a)-c), ii) a second container comprising at least a portion of the one or more superplasticizers and/or the one or more soluble powder additives, and iii) a third container comprising the remaining components of the hydration liquid d). 10. A fluoride-releasing mineral trioxide aggregate dental material which comprises: a) more than 50% by dry weight of a flash setting high aluminate cement powder or portland cement-like powder without gypsum addition, comprising: more than 60% calcium oxide (C);more than 15% silica (S), such that it comprise more than 50% calcium silicates including alite (tricalcium silicate or C3S) and belite (dicalcium silicate or C2S), with a C/S ratio above 2.0;more than 3% alumina (A), such that it comprises more than 7% calcium aluminates (CA);less than 10% sulphates (SO3);altogether with a particle surface area of more than 200 m2/kg,b) 0.001-49.9% by dry weight of one or more fluorine-containing additives with a particle surface area of 200 to 300,000 m2/kg;c) 1-49.9% by dry weight of one or more further additives with a particle surface area of 200 to 300,000 m2/kg;d) a hydration liquid optionally comprising more than 0.001% by weight of the liquid of one or more soluble powder additives; ande) 0.001-10.0% by weight of the liquid of one or more superplasticizers; andwherein said hydration liquid, d), constitutes 10-45% by weight based on the total MTA weight of a)-e). 11. The dental material according to claim 10, wherein the hydration liquid comprises i) 0.001-10.0% by weight of the liquid of one or more superplasticizers; and ii) more than 0.001% by weight of the liquid of one or more soluble powder additives; and water. 16. A kit for the preparation of the dental material of claim 10, comprising i) a first container comprises the ingredients a)-c), and ii) a second container comprises hydration liquid d). 17. A kit for the preparation of the dental material of claim 10, comprising i) a first container comprising the ingredients a)-c) and at least a portion of the one or more superplasticizers and/or the one or more soluble powder additives, and ii) a second container comprising the remaining components of the hydration liquid d). 18. A kit for the preparation of the dental material of claim 10, comprising i) a first container comprising the ingredients a)-c), ii) a second container comprising at least a portion of the one or more superplasticizers and/or the one or more soluble powder additives, and iii) a third container comprising the remaining components of the hydration liquid d).
