A heated food storage and display cabinet including a flow inducer and heater arranged in an upper region thereof, the flow inducer being operable to draw air from an upper portion of the cabinet, to direct the air over the heater, and subsequently urge the heated air down the rear wall of the cabinet and across the floor of the cabinet towards the open front of the cabinet. The heated air is subsequently directed upwardly and rearwardly across the open front of the cabinet by an airflow direction member of the cabinet so as to provide a heated air curtain across the open front of the cabinet, and a portion of the heated air is also passed into the cabinet as the heated air moves down the rear wall and across the floor so as to pass over and around packs of food stored therein.

1. A method of storing and displaying heated food in a cabinet having a chamber with at least one shelf, the at least one shelf having a forward edge and an airflow redirector extending across the forward edge, the cabinet comprising an open front portion, a front wall having an upper edge and a lip extending along a portion of the upper edge, and a rear wall, and opposing sides extending between the open front portion and the rear wall such that the rear wall extends from one of the opposing sides to the other one of the opposing sides, the method comprising: placing heated food on the at least one shelf within the chamber; drawing air to a heating element disposed above the chamber; urging heated air down a path defined between the rear wall, and the at least one shelf so that a portion of the heated air splits away and passes above the at least one shelf at the same time that another portion of the heated air splits away and passes below the at least one shelf; directing the heated air across lower portion of the chamber towards the open front portion; redirecting, with the lip, the heated air from the lower portion, upwardly and rearwardly across the open front portion so as to provide a heated air curtain across the open front portion; and redirecting, with the airflow director, the heated air that impinges on the forward edge of the at least one shelf upwardly and rearwardly. 2. A method according to claim 1, further comprising causing a portion of the heated air to pass into the chamber as the heated air moves down the rear wall and across the lower portion so as to pass over and around the heated food. 3. A method according to claim 1, wherein said drawing and said urging utilize a flow inducer means which includes a plurality of fans disposed in an upper portion of the chamber. 4. A method according to claim 3, wherein the fans are provided in a side by side arrangement. 5. A method according to claim 3, wherein the heater element is positioned proximate a fan outlet. 6. A method according to claim 3, wherein the fans are operable independently of one another. 7. A method according to claim 3, wherein the flow inducer and heater element are provided in a flow inducer chamber situated in the upper portion of the chamber. 8. A method according to claim 7, wherein the flow inducer chamber is provided with an inlet arranged to receive air from within the chamber and an outlet arranged to direct heated air toward the rear wall. 9. A method according to claim 1, wherein the lip is an inwardly angled lip extending between opposing side walls of the chamber. 10. A method according to claim 9, wherein the inwardly angled lip is inclined at an angle of between about 10 to about 20 degrees. 11. A method according to claim 9, wherein the inwardly angled lip is inclined at an angle of about 15 degrees. 12. A method according to claim 1, wherein an inclination of the at least one shelf is variable. 13. A method according to claim 1, wherein the airflow redirector comprises a spoiler. 14. A method according to claim 13, wherein the airflow redirector is inclined at a predetermined angle to the at least one shelf. 15. A method according to claim 14, wherein the airflow redirector is formed integrally with a display member provided on the forward edge of the at least one shelf. 16. A method according to claim 15, wherein the display member includes an attachment portion and an information display portion. 17. A method according to claim 16, wherein the information display portion comprises a recess provided between a base and a cover overlying the base, the cover being joined to the base by a living hinge.
