A respiratory mask assembly for delivering breathable gas to a patient includes a frame and at least one locking clip. The frame has a main body and a side frame member provided on each lateral side of the main body, at least one of the side frame members including a locking clip receiver assembly.

The frame has a main body and a side frame member provided on each lateral side of the main body, at least one of the side frame members including a locking clip receiver assembly. The at least one locking clip has a main body providing a front portion adapted to be removably coupled with the at least one locking clip receiver assembly and a rear portion adapted to be removably coupled to a headgear assembly. The rear portion includes a cross bar that forms an opening through which a strap of the headgear assembly can pass and be removably coupled with the cross bar, and the front portion includes at least one resiliently flexible spring arm that is flexible within the plane of the main body.

A locking clip for removably coupling a frame and a headgear assembly of a respiratory mask assembly for delivering breathable gas to a patient, the locking clip comprising: a main body providing a front portion and a rear portion, the front portion having a front end potion adapted to be inserted into a front opening slot of the frame and the rear portion adapted to be removably coupled to the headgear assembly; anda pair of resiliently flexible spring arms, each spring arm including a finger grip portion adapted to be manually manipulated by the patient to release the locking clip from the frame, the finger grip portion being positioned rearward of the front opening of the slot when the front end portion is inserted into the slot,the front portion including a central support tab positioned between the pair of spring arms, the central support tab adapted to be inserted into the slot of the frame to guide the locking clip into engagement with the frame, the central support tab providing the front end portion adapted to be inserted into the front opening of the slot of the frame and a rear end portion to which each said spring arm is connected,wherein each spring arm is spaced from the main body by a flexing space having an open end that extends from a lateral side of the clip, and the open end being positioned rearward of the front opening the slot when the front end porton is inserted into the slot, andwherein each spring arm includes a locking tab provided to a free end of the spring arm, the locking tab being laterally spaced and laterally adjacent the front end portion of the central support tab. 2. The locking clip according to claim 1, wherein each of the spring arms is flexible within the plane of the main body. 3. The locking clip according to claim 1, wherein the central support tab extends forward from each of the spring arms. 4. The locking clip according to claim 1, wherein the central support tab includes a groove adapted to receive a protrusion provided in the slot of the frame when the locking clip and frame are removably coupled to one another. 5. The locking clip according to claim 4, wherein the groove has a length that is at least half a length of the central support tab. 6. The locking clip according to claim 1, wherein the front portion and the rear portion are disposed at an angle with respect to one another. 7. The locking clip according to claim 1, wherein an outward surface of each spring arm includes a finger grip portion adapted to facilitate gripping by the patient in use. 8. The locking clip according to claim 1, wherein each spring arm includes a first end including the locking tab at the free end thereof, a second end attached to the main body, a proximal portion extending from the second end, and a central portion extending from and angled with respect to the proximal portion, wherein the proximal portion and the central portion form a general L-shape. 9. The locking clip according to claim 8, wherein the proximal portion extends from the second end towards the rear portion. 10. The locking clip according to claim 8, wherein the proximal portion extends from the central support tab. 11. A respiratory mask assembly for delivering breathable gas to a patient, comprising: a frame having a main body and a side frame member provided on each lateral side of the main body, at least one of the side frame members including an integrally formed locking clip receiver assembly; andat least one locking clip according to claim 1, the front portion of the at least one locking clip adapted to be removably coupled with the at least one locking clip receiver assembly of the frame. 12. The respiratory mask assembly according to claim 11, wherein the mask assembly is a nasal mask. 13. A locking clip for removably coupling a frame and a headgear assembly of a respiratory mask assembly for delivering breathable gas to a patient, the locking clip comprising: a main body providing a front portion and a rear portion, the front portion including a central support tab having a front end portion to be inserted into the frame and a rear end portion; andat least one resiliently flexible spring arm extending from the rear end portion of the central support tab,each spring arm including a first end including a locking tab at a free end thereof, a second end attached to the rear end portion, a proximal portion extending from the second end, and a central portion extending from and angled with respect to the proximal portion,wherein the proximal portion extends from the second end towards the rear portion, andwherein the proximal portion and the central portion form a general L-shape. 14. A locking clip for removably coupling a frame and a headgear assembly of a respiratory mask assembly for delivering breathable gas to a patient, the locking clip comprising: a main body providing a front portion and a rear portion, the front portion adapted to be removably coupled with the frame and rear portion adapted to be removably coupled to the head gear assembly,the front portion including a pair of resiliently flexible spring arms and a central support tab positioned between the pair of spring arms, the central support tab adapted to be inserted into a slot of the frame to guide the locking clip into engagement with frame,a first end including a locking tab at a free end thereof, a second end attached to the main body, a proximal portion extending from the second end, and a central portion extending from a angled with respect to the proximal portion,wherein the proximal portion extends from the second end towards the rear portion, andwherein the proximal portion is spaced from the main body by a first gap and the central portion is spaced from the rear portion by a second gap, and the second gap extends from a lateral side of the clip. 15. The locking clip according to claim 1, wherein the finger grip portion is positioned rearward of the slot in relation to a direction of insertion of the front end portion into the slot. 16. The locking clip according to claim 1, wherein each spring arm includes a locking tab positioned to interlock with a locking flange provided towards a bottom of the slot.
