A novel electronic information transport component can be incorporated in a wide range of electronic information products, for example magazine collections, to automate the mass distribution of updates, such as current issues, from a remote server to a wide user base having a diversity of computer stations. Advantages of economy, immediacy and ease of use are provided. Extensions of the invention permit automated electronic catalog shopping with order placement and, optionally, order confirmation. A server-based update distribution service is also provided. In addition, an offline web browser system, with hyperlink redirection capabilities, a novel recorded music product with automated update capabilities and an Internet charging mechanism are provided.

A method for accessing from a server, over a communications network including the Internet, a plurality of remote server function objects stored at a first plurality of independent online server-based information distribution services, comprising: identifying a second plurality of independent online server-based information distribution services from the first plurality of independent online server-based information distribution services corresponding to a remote server function, the remote server function objects being listed on a remote server function list;configuring object location parameters needed to enable requesting at least one remote server function object from each of the identified independent online server-based information distribution services;receiving update fetch objects from the identified independent online server-based information distribution services, at least one of the update fetch objects corresponding to at least a portion of the remote server function objects; andintegrating the received update fetch objects into the remote server function objects to allow for seamless use of the at least the portion of remote server function objects at the server. 14. A method for accessing a plurality of remote server function output objects stored at a first plurality of independent online server-based information distribution services from a client over a communications network including the Internet, comprising: locating a remote server function listed on a remote server function object list on the client;identifying a second plurality of independent online server-based information distribution services from the first plurality of independent online server-based information distribution services corresponding to the remote server function objects listed on the remote server function object list;causing processing of data at the identified independent online server-based information distribution services in accordance with the remote server function objects;causing storing of the processed data in one or more update fetch objects at the independent online server-based information distribution services;receiving the one or more update fetch objects at the client per client request; andassimilating the one or more received update fetch objects into the remote server function objects. 15. The method of claim 14, wherein the remote server function further comprises one or more executable code objects. 16. The method of claim 14, wherein the remote server function further comprises one or more of at least one of an audio object or a video object. 17. The method of claim 16, wherein the at least one of an audio object or a video object comprises at least one of audio or video control functions. 18. A method for updating a database management object stored in persistent storage on a client, comprising: polling a plurality of independent online server-based information distribution services for lists of update fetch objects over a communications network including the Internet;receiving the lists of update fetch objects from the plurality of independent online server-based information distribution services over the communications network including the Internet;assimilating the lists of update fetch objects into a database management object stored in persistent storage on the client to allow for use of the lists of update fetch objects with the database management object at the client; andrequesting at least one update fetch object listed in the database management object from the plurality of independent online server-based information distribution services over the communications network including the Internet. 19. The method of claim 18, further comprising: integrating the received lists of update fetch objects. 20. The method of claim 18, further comprising: receiving a fetch-send protocol layer as part of the requested at least one update fetch object. 21. The method of claim 20, further comprising: integrating the fetch-send protocol layer into an existing fetch-send protocol layer in the database management object, to allow for seamless use of the received fetch-send protocol layer. 22. The method of claim 20, further comprising: integrating the fetch-send protocol layer into an existing fetch-send protocol layer recursively. 23. A method for sending information objects between a user station and a plurality of independent online server-based information distribution services over a communications network including the Internet, comprising: receiving update fetch objects at the plurality of independent online server-based information distribution services sent from the user station, wherein one of the update fetch objects includes an update to a fetch-send protocol as content;identifying at the independent online server-based information distribution services the update to the fetch-send protocol; andsending a fetch-send protocol information object from at least one of the independent online server-based information distribution services to the user station to allow updating of the fetch-send protocol at the user station. 24. The method of claim 23, further comprising: updating the fetch-send protocol information object itself recursively and seamlessly. 25. The method of claim 23, further comprising: updating the fetch-send protocol information object itself automatically and repeatedly. 26. The method of claim 23, further comprising: updating the fetch-send protocol information object itself in response to a server poll. 27. A method for exchanging information objects and update information objects between one or more user stations and a plurality of independent online server-based information distribution services over a communications network including the Internet, comprising: receiving update fetch objects at the plurality of independent online server-based information distribution services from at least one user station, wherein one of the update fetch objects includes an update to a fetch-send protocol as content;identifying at the at least one independent online server-based information distribution service the update to the fetch-send protocol itself; andupdating a fetch-send protocol information object with the update to the fetch-send protocol. 28. The method of claim 27, further comprising: receiving one or more protocol plug-ins at the at least one independent online server-based information distribution service; andselecting one of the received protocol plug-ins at the at least one independent online server-based information distribution service to enable communication from the at least one independent online server-based information distribution service to the at least one user station. 29. A method for exchanging information objects and update information objects between one or more user stations and a plurality of independent online server-based information distribution services over a communications network including the Internet, comprising: exchanging update fetch objects between at least one user station and the plurality of independent online server-based information distribution services using a network protocol, wherein each one of the update fetch objects includes an update to a fetch-send protocol as content;identifying at the plurality of independent online server-based information distribution services the update to the fetch-send protocol;updating a fetch-send protocol information object with the update to the fetch-send protocol at the plurality of independent online server-based information distribution services; andsending the updated fetch-send protocol information object from the plurality of independent online server-based information distribution services to the at least one user station to update the fetch-send protocol at the at least one user station. 30. The method of claim 29, further comprising: receiving one or more protocol plug-ins at the independent online server-based information distribution services;storing the received one or more protocol plug-ins at the independent online server-based information distribution services; andselecting one of the received protocol plug-ins at the independent online server-based information distribution services to enable routing of information objects from the independent online server-based information distribution services to the at least one user station. 31. The method of claim 30, further comprising: updating the one or more protocol plug-ins automatically and seamlessly with a plug-in update object. 32. The method of claim 7, further comprising retrieving a plurality of update fetch objects from a respective plurality of independent second servers, wherein the respective plurality of independent second servers comprise a plurality of network based content providers. 33. The method of claim 7, further comprising selecting a plurality of network based content providers based on a selection from a user station. 34. The method of claim 7, further comprising customizing the integrating of the received lists of update fetch objects to a specific user station based on a selection from that user station. 35. The method of claim 7, further comprising receiving the lists of update fetch objects from a web aggregator. 36. The method of claim 7, further comprising receiving the lists of update fetch objects from diverse locations. 37. The method of claim 36, wherein receiving the lists of update fetch objects from the diverse locations comprises receiving the lists of update fetch objects from a plurality of independently operated Web servers. 38. The method of claim 7, further comprising repeating the receiving and integrating automatically as a function of receiving a request at the server to check for one or more updates from one or more corresponding ones of the independent online server-based information distribution services. 39. The method of claim 7, further comprising repeating the receiving and integrating according to a schedule. 40. The method of claim 7, further comprising repeating the receiving and integrating in response to a user command. 41. The method of claim 7, wherein the integrating comprises organizing a plurality of URLs and a plurality of document objects associated with the plurality of URLs into a directed graph. 42. The method of claim 41, wherein the organizing comprises connecting the plurality of URLs and the plurality of document objects by hyperlinks. 43. The method of claim 7, further comprising including in the information object instructions enabling a client station to retrieve and display an updated fetch object while continuously displaying existing not updated information object portions. 44. The method of claim 7, wherein integrating the received lists of update fetch objects into an existing information object comprises integrating one or more lists of offers for sale of a product or service. 45. The method of claim 44, wherein integrating the one or more lists of offer for sale comprises providing to a client station an information object that includes one or more purchase order forms that can be returned to the server to effect a purchase. 46. The method of claim 7, further comprising: receiving a user's charge card information and a shipping address at the server; andcreating a header for a dynamic electronic order form using the user's charge card information and the shipping address. 47. The method of claim 46, further comprising capturing the user's charge card information using an encryption/decryption code and key. 48. The method of claim 7, further comprising: logging the received lists of update fetch objects in a received update fetch object log; andcomparing the received update fetch object log to a update fetch object request list. 49. A method for updating a database management object stored on a client, comprising: polling a plurality of independent online server-based information distribution services for lists of update fetch objects over a communications network including the Internet;receiving the lists of update fetch objects from the plurality of independent online server-based information distribution services over the communications network including the Internet;integrating the lists of update fetch objects into an existing database management object to allow for seamless use of the lists of update fetch objects with the database management object at the client; andrequesting at least one update fetch object listed in the database management object from each of the plurality of independent online server-based information distribution services over the communications network including the Internet. 53. The method of claim 1, further comprising: logging the lists of received update fetch objects in a received update fetch object log; andcomparing the received update fetch object log to an update fetch object request list. 54. The method of claim 18, further comprising: logging the lists of received update fetch objects in a received update fetch object log; andcomparing the received update fetch object log to a update fetch object request list. 55. A method for enabling a server to make at least one server function object available to a plurality of other independent server-based information distribution services over a communications network including the Internet, comprising: providing the server function object to the independent server-based information distribution services on a remote server function list, wherein the server function object corresponds to a function provided by the server;enabling at least one of the independent server-based information distribution services to access the server function object;sending, per a request, an update fetch object to at least one of the independent server-based information distribution services, wherein the update fetch object corresponds to at least a portion of the server function object; andenabling the at least one independent server-based information distribution service to integrate the sent update fetch object into a remote server function object maintained by the at least one independent server-based information distribution service, to allow for seamless use of the server function object at the at least one independent server-based information distribution service. 68. The method according to claim 1, further comprising receiving the lists of fetch objects from the plurality of independent online server-based information distribution services in response to a single triggering action of the client. 69. A method for exchanging information objects and update information objects between one or more user stations and a plurality of independent server-based information distribution services over a communications network including the Internet, comprising: receiving update fetch objects at the plurality of independent server-based information distribution services from at least one user station using a network protocol, wherein each one of the update fetch objects includes an update to a fetch-send protocol as content;identifying at the independent server-based information distribution services the update to the fetch-send protocol;updating a fetch-send protocol information object with the fetch-send protocol at the independent server-based information distribution services; andsending the updated fetch-send protocol information object from the independent server-based information distribution services to the at least one user station to update the fetch-send protocol at the at least one user station. 70. The method of claim 29, further comprising: receiving one or more protocol plug-ins at the independent online server-based information distribution services; andselecting one of the received protocol plug-ins at the independent online server-based information distribution services to enable routing of information objects from the independent online server-based information distribution services to the at least one user station. 71. A method for updating an information object stored in persistent storage on a client station, comprising: accessing lists of currently available information objects at a plurality of independent online server-based information distribution services over a communications network including the Internet, wherein the accessing is enabled without any prior knowledge of the identity of the client station;receiving a request for at least one fetch object at the independent online server-based information distribution services from the client station by the use of a client subscription relationship that is not persistent at the server-based information distribution service;selecting one or more currently available information objects corresponding to the received request for at least one fetch object;integrating the one or more currently available information objects into an integrated information object; andsending the integrated information object corresponding to the received request for at least one fetch object to the client station to allow for seamless use of the one or more currently available information objects at the client station. 72. The method according to claim 71, further comprising: automatically repeating receiving the request for at least one fetch object on a scheduled basis. 73. A non-transitory computer-readable medium having instructions stored thereon that, in response to being executed by a computing device, cause the computing device to perform operations comprising: accessing lists of currently available information objects at a plurality of independent online server-based information distribution services over a communications network including the Internet, wherein the accessing is enabled without any prior knowledge of the identity of a client station;receiving a request for at least one fetch object at the independent online server-based information distribution services from the client station by the use of a client subscription relationship that is not persistent at the server-based information services;selecting one or more currently available information objects corresponding to the received request for at least one fetch object;integrating the one or more currently available information objects into an integrated information object; andsending the integrated information object corresponding to the received request for at least one fetch object to the client station to allow for seamless use of the one or more currently available information objects at the client station. 74. The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 73, further having instructions stored thereon that, in response to being executed by a computing device, cause the computing device to perform operations comprising: automatically repeating receiving at least one fetch object on a scheduled basis. 75.
