The container comprising: a bottom plate; a plurality of inner walls extending substantially perpendicular to said bottom plate, forming a hollow, therebetween; a plurality of outer walls extending substantially perpendicular to the bottom plate and substantially parallel to, and spaced from, a corresponding one of the inner walls, the spacing forming a compartment between the inner and outer walls, wherein corresponding ones of the inner and outer walls are attached at selected points between the inner and oute...

1. A hot/cold container comprising: a bottom section;four substantially perpendicular outer walls extending from said bottom section, each of said four substantially perpendicular outer walls including a top edge;four substantially perpendicular inner walls extending from said bottom section forming an inner compartment therebetween, said four substantially perpendicular inner walls being substantially parallel to said four substantially perpendicular outer walls, with a space formed therebetween, wherein at the intersection of two adjacent outer walls is an outer corner, and at the intersection of two adjacent inner walls is an inner corner; andfour solid columnar members disposed in the space formed between said four substantially perpendicular outer walls and said four substantially perpendicular inner walls, each of said four solid columnar members attaching one outer corner to a corresponding inner corner, and providing at least four substantially vertical compartments in said space. 2. The hot/cold container according to claim 1, wherein said bottom section further comprises: a bottom compartment formed in said bottom section; andan opening formed in one of said four substantially perpendicular outer walls providing access to said bottom compartment. 3. The hot/cold container according to claim 1, further comprising: a lip attached to said top edge of each of said outer walls. 4. The hot/cold container according to claim 3, further comprising: a lid, including a top surface and a bottom surface and a plurality of outer edges extending from said top surface configured for engaging said lip. 5. The hot/cold container according to claim 4, wherein said lid further includes a plurality of protrusions extending from said bottom surface, said plurality of protrusions being substantially parallel to said outer edges, wherein, upon assembly with a container, said plurality of protrusions are disposed adjacent said inner walls in said space formed between said four substantially perpendicular inner walls and said four substantially perpendicular outer walls of said container. 6. The hot/cold container according to claim 4, wherein said lid further includes a plurality of protrusions extending from said bottom surface, said plurality of protrusions being substantially parallel to said outer edges, wherein, upon assembly with a container, said protrusions are disposed adjacent to said inner walls adjacent to said inner compartment. 7. The hot/cold container according to claim 4, wherein said lid further comprises an extension tab. 8. The hot/cold container according to claim 1, wherein said bottom section is rectangular. 9. The hot/cold container according to claim 1, wherein said bottom section is square. 10. The hot/cold container according to claim 4, wherein said lid further comprises a writable region. 11. The hot/cold container according to claim 1, wherein said writable region is formed of a material that is erasable. 12. A storage system, comprising: a hot/cold container, comprising:a bottom section;four substantially perpendicular outer walls extending from said bottom section, each of said four substantially perpendicular outer walls including a top edge;four substantially perpendicular inner walls extending from said bottom section forming an inner compartment therebetween, said four substantially perpendicular inner walls being substantially parallel to said four substantially perpendicular outer walls, with a space formed therebetween, wherein at the intersection of two adjacent outer walls is an outer corner, and at the intersection of two adjacent inner walls is an inner corner;four solid columnar members disposed in the space formed between said four substantially perpendicular outer walls and said four substantially perpendicular inner walls, each of said four solid columnar members attaching one outer corner to a corresponding inner corner, and providing at least four substantially vertical compartments in said space;a lip attached to said top edge of each of said four substantially perpendicular outer walls; anda lid having a top surface and a bottom surface and a plurality of outer edges extending from said top surface configured for engaging said lip. 13. The system according to claim 12, wherein said lid further includes a plurality of protrusions extending from said bottom surface, said plurality of protrusions being substantially parallel to said outer edges, wherein, upon assembly with a container, said plurality of protrusions are disposed adjacent to said substantially perpendicular inner walls of said container in the space between said four substantially perpendicular inner walls and said four substantially perpendicular outer walls. 14. The system according to claim 12, wherein said lid further includes a plurality of protrusions extending from said bottom surface, said plurality of protrusions being substantially parallel to said outer edges, wherein, upon assembly with a container, said protrusions are disposed adjacent to said substantially perpendicular inner walls adjacent to said inner compartment. 15. The system according to claim 13, wherein said lid further comprises an extension tab. 16. The system according to claim 12, wherein said bottom section further comprises: a bottom compartment formed in said bottom section; andan opening formed in one of said four substantially perpendicular outer walls providing access to said bottom compartment. 17. A method for storing food, comprising: providing a hot/cold container, comprising: a bottom section;four substantially perpendicular outer walls extending from said bottom section, each of said four substantially perpendicular outer walls including a top edge;four substantially perpendicular inner walls extending from said bottom section forming an inner compartment therebetween, said four substantially perpendicular inner walls being substantially parallel to said four substantially perpendicular outer walls, with a space formed therebetween, wherein at the intersection of two adjacent outer walls is an outer corner, and at the intersection of two adjacent inner walls is an inner corner;four solid columnar members disposed in the space between said four substantially perpendicular outer walls and said four substantially perpendicular inner walls, each of said four solid columnar members attaching one outer corner to a corresponding inner corner, and providing at least four substantially vertical compartments in said space; anda lip attached to said top edge of said four substantially perpendicular outer walls;placing one or more packets into the four substantially vertical compartments to maintain the temperature of the hot/cold container; anddisposing a lid having a top surface and a bottom surface onto said hot/cold container, said lid having a plurality of outer edges extending from said top surface configured for engaging said lip. 18. The method according to claim 17, further comprising the step of placing a heated packet into each compartment. 19. The method according to claim 17, further comprising the step of placing a cooling packet into each compartment. 20. The method according to claim 17, further comprising the step of placing a gel packet into each compartment.
