A recipe wand reads meal plans and recipes for a recipe book, and with data about the appliance and one or more cycles of operation, sends data about a consumable to the appliance to automatically create and selectively commence a cycle of operation oh the consumable according to the recipe book.

An assembly comprising: a recipe book with information associated or related to a consumable adapted for use in an operation cycle of an appliance, wherein the information includes an uncompiled data portion having a description of an ordered collection of steps, actions to be taken by at least one component of the appliance during each step, and conditions under which a current step should transition into a next step in the ordered collection of steps;a cycle engine in the appliance and in communication with the at least one component; anda recipe wand having a processor configured for communication with the appliance in at least one message, a reader configured to read the information from the recipe book, and a memory having a compiled portion configured to read the data portion;wherein the cycle engine uses the compiled portion to build a cycle structure from the uncompiled data portion that includes a set of commands based on the ordered collection of steps, actions to be taken by the at least one component during each step, and conditions under which a current step should transition into a next step in the ordered collection of steps that the appliance can execute for the operation cycle. 2. A method of providing an operation cycle for at least one component of an appliance comprising: providing a recipe book with information associated or related to a consumable, wherein the information includes an uncompiled data portion having a description of an ordered collection of steps, actions to be taken by the at least one component during each step, and conditions under which a current step should transition into a next step in the ordered collection of steps;providing a recipe wand to retrieve the information from the recipe book, and to communicate with the appliance, wherein the appliance has a cycle engine in communication with the at least one component and having a compiled portion configured to read the data portion to build a cycle structure that includes a set of commands based on the ordered collection of steps, actions to be taken by the at least one component during each step,and conditions under which a current step should transition into a next step in the ordered collection of steps that the at least one component executes for the operation cycle;using the recipe wand to retrieve the information from the recipe book;sending at least the uncompiled data portion to the appliance;building in the cycle engine a cycle structure with the set of commands from the uncompiled data portion to create the operation cycle; andsending at least one of the set of commands to the at least one component,whereby to configure the at least one component to perform the created operation cycle. 3. The method of claim 2 comprising the step of creating a data cycle structure from the information in one of a consumable reader, an arbitrary software component, and the recipe wand. 4. A recipe book for use with an appliance configured to perform an operation cycle related to a consumable and to receive messages, the recipe book comprising a software architecture and encoded information associated with the consumable and configured to communicate the encoded information to the appliance by way of a recipe wand for use by the appliance to perform an operation cycle on the consumable via the software architecture, and a cycle engine in the appliance, wherein the encoded information includes appliance identifier data in accord with a messaging protocol of the software architecture and an uncompiled data portion having an ordered collection of steps, actions to be taken by the appliance during each step, and conditions under which a current step should transition into a next step in the ordered collection of steps, and the cycle engine with a compiled portion builds, from the uncompiled data portion, a set of commands based on the ordered collection of steps, actions to be taken by the appliance during each step, and conditions under which a current step should transition into a next step in the ordered collection of steps, and further configured to receive updated information from the appliance. 5. The recipe book of claim 4 wherein the encoded information comprises operating cycle data directly usable by the appliance. 6. The recipe book of claim 5 wherein the encoded information is a communication packet that is communicated to the software architecture. 7. The recipe book of claim 4 wherein the encoded information is a communication packet that is communicated to the software architecture. 8. The recipe book of claim 4 wherein the software architecture includes memory and the encoded information is a key to direct the appliance to any data about the consumable stored in the memory. 9. The recipe book according to claim 4 wherein the encoded information is a communication packet. 10. An appliance configured to perform a cycle of operation to complete a physical operation on a consumable, comprising: at least one component, configured to be interlinked in a network and to be operable by a network command sent from a recipe wand configured to obtain information related to the consumable and capable of communication with the network, wherein the obtained information includes an uncompiled data portion having an ordered collection of steps, actions to be taken by the at least one component during each step, and conditions under which a current step should transition into a next step in the ordered collection of steps,the at least one component comprising a software architecture having at least one software element and configured to generate a plurality of messages in the network, and configured to enable transmission of at least one of the plurality of messages in the network, anda non-transitory storage medium,wherein the software architecture includes a cycle engine with a compiled portion configured to read the uncompiled data portion from the consumable, and configured to build a cycle structure that includes a set of commands based on the obtained information related to the consumable, actions to be taken by the at least one component during each command, and conditions under which a current command should transition into a next command in the set of commands, that the at least one component executes for the operation cycle, and to store the built cycle structure in the non-transitory storage medium for execution. 11. The appliance of claim 10 further comprising a user interface wherein the user interface is configured to display information related to the consumable. 12. The appliance of claim 11 wherein the information is one of a meal plan and consumable preparation data. 13. An appliance network comprising: at least one appliance configured to perform a cycle of operation related to a consumable and having at least one component comprising a software architecture configured to generate a plurality of messages in the network, and configured to enable transmission of at least one of the plurality of messages in the network,a recipe wand having a processor in communication with the at least one component, and a reader configured to retrieve encoded information associated or related to the consumable wherein the encoded information includes an uncompiled data portion having a description of an ordered collection of steps, actions to be taken by the at least one component during each step, and conditions under which a current step should transition into a next step in the ordered collection of steps, and having a compiled portion configured to read the data portion,a cycle engine in the at least one appliance and configured to build a cycle structure that includes a set of commands based on the ordered collection of steps, actions to be taken by the at least one component during each step, and conditions under which a current step should transition into a next step in the ordered collection of steps that the at least one component executes for the operation cycle, anda non transitory storage medium,whereby when the recipe wand retrieves the encoded information, at least one of the recipe wand and the appliance builds the cycle structure in the cycle engine, including a set of commands from the encoded information, and stores the built cycle structure in the non-transitory storage medium for execution. 14. The network of claim 13 wherein the encoded information comprises operating cycle data usable by the at least one appliance. 15. The network of claim 13 wherein the encoded information is a communication packet that is communicated to the at least one appliance. 16. The network of claim 13 wherein the encoded information is a meal plan. 17. The appliance network of claim 13 wherein the information is in a recipe book. 18. The appliance network of claim 13 comprising at least two appliances in communication with the processor wherein the processor is configured to determine which of the least two appliances the recipe wand should send the at least one of the set of commands and the encoded information to. 19. The appliance network of claim 13 comprising at least two appliances in communication with the processor wherein the processor is configured to determine which appliance is best suited to operate on the consumable. 20. The appliance network of claim 13 comprising at least two appliances in communication with the processor wherein the processor is configured to determine what exact cycle data structure or operational cycle should be used by which appliance. 21. The appliance network of claim 13 comprising at least two appliances in communication with the processor and at least two consumables wherein the processor is configured to determine what time each consumable should be put into which appliance. 22. The appliance network of claim 13 wherein one of the at least one appliance and the recipe wand is configured to query the network for the identity of another node on the network. 23. The appliance network of claim 13 comprising another node on the network in communication with the processor wherein the processor is configured to determine what consumable preparation can be made by the other node. 24. The appliance network of claim 13 comprising a user interface in communication with the processor wherein the processor is configured to make at least one determination about consumable preparation and a user can be informed and interact with the recipe wand about the at least one determination. 25. The appliance network of claim 24 wherein the user interface displays one of a meal plan and a specific recipe. 26. The appliance network of claim 24 wherein the user interface enables the user to select a recipe or meal plan and initiate preparation of a recipe or meal plan. 27. The appliance network of claim 13 further comprising user interface for use with an appliance network, the user interface having at least one memory location and comprising an arbitrary software component for performing a useful function, one of a software architecture and a software architecture driver configured to create, alter, or enable transmission of messages with the at least one appliance wherein at least one determination about consumable preparation can be made by one of the user and the user interface based on the information. 28. The appliance network of claim 13 further comprising at least one taxonomy dataset associated with the at least one appliance whereby when the at least one taxonomy dataset is combined with the information, at least one determination about consumable preparation can be made by one of the processor and the at least one component.
