A coffee maker, comprising: a base,a filter basket positioned above the base, the filter basket including an outlet,a drip stop assembly coupled to the filter basket, the drip stop assembly including a plug movable relative to the filter basket between (i) a first position in which the plug is positioned in the outlet of the filter basket such that fluid is prevented from advancing through the outlet, and (ii) a second position in which the plug is spaced apart from the outlet of the filter basket such that fluid is permitted to advance through the outlet,a single-serve adaptor configured to be selectively positioned on the base, the single-serve adaptor comprising: (i) a removable drip pan, and (ii) an upper arm that contacts the plug such that the plug is positioned in the second position when the single-serve adaptor is positioned on the base, anda carafe configured to be selectively positioned on the base,wherein the single-serve adaptor has a removed position in which (i) the single-serve adaptor is spaced apart from the base, and (ii) the carafe is positioned on the base. 2. The coffee maker of claim 1, wherein a chamber is defined between the upper arm of the single-serve adaptor and the drip pan, the chamber being sized to receive a coffee cup. 3. The coffee maker of claim 1, wherein when the carafe is positioned on the base, the carafe engages the plug such that the plug is positioned in the second position. 4. The coffee maker of claim 1, wherein the single-serve adaptor includes: an adaptor base including the drip pan,a housing extending upwardly from the adaptor base, andthe upper arm extending outwardly from the housing substantially parallel to the base. 5. The coffee maker of claim 4, wherein the upper arm has a slot defined therein that is positioned below the outlet of the filter basket. 6. The coffee maker of claim 1, further comprising: a heating plate located in the base,a sensor operable to detect the single-serve adaptor when the single-serve adaptor is positioned on the base and generate an electrical output signal indicative thereof, andan electronic controller electrically coupled to the heating plate and the sensor, the controller comprising (i) a processor, and (ii) a memory device electrically coupled to the processor, the memory device having stored therein a plurality of instructions which, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to:(i) communicate with the sensor to determine whether the single-serve adaptor is positioned on the base, and(ii) deactivate the heating plate when the single-serve adaptor is positioned on the base. 7. The coffee maker of claim 6, wherein the sensor is a magnetic sensor. 8. The coffee maker of claim 6, further comprising: a pump electrically coupled to the electronic controller, the pump being operable to advance fluid to the filter basket, anda user interface electrically coupled to the electronic controller, the user interface being operable to receive user input and generate an electrical output signal indicative thereof,wherein the memory device has stored therein a plurality of instructions which, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to (a) prompt a user to select via the user interface a serving size from a plurality of serving sizes when the single-serve adaptor is positioned on the base, and (b) operate the pump in accordance with a selected serving size. 9. The coffee maker of claim 6, wherein the memory device has stored therein a plurality of instructions which, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to activate the heating plate when the single-serve adaptor is absent from the base. 10. A coffee maker, comprising: a base;a filter basket positioned above the base, the filter basket comprising an outlet;a drip stop assembly coupled to the filter basket, the drip stop assembly including a plug movable between a first position configured to prevent fluid from escaping the filter basket, and a second position configured to allow fluid to escape the filter basket through the outlet;a carafe configured to be selectively positioned on the base; anda single-serve adaptor configured to be selectively positioned on the base, the single-serve adaptor comprising: a removable drip pan; anda lever element coupled to the plug;wherein the lever element is configured to actuate the plug from the first position to the second position when a single-serve receptacle is placed on the drip pan; andwherein the single-serve adaptor has a removed position in which the single-serve adaptor is spaced apart from the base and the carafe is positioned on the base. 11. The coffee maker of claim 10, wherein when the carafe is positioned on the base, the carafe engages the plug such that the plug is positioned in the second position. 12. The coffee maker of claim 10, wherein a chamber is defined between the filter basket and the drip pan, the chamber being sized to receive a coffee cup. 13. The coffee maker of claim 10, further comprising: a heating plate located in the base;a sensor operable to detect the drip pan when the drip plate is positioned on the base and generate an electrical output signal indicative thereof; andan electronic controller electrically coupled to the heating plate and the sensor, the controller comprising; a processor; anda memory device electrically coupled to the processor, the memory device having stored therein a plurality of instructions which, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to communicate with the sensor to determine whether the single-serve adaptor is positioned on the base, and deactivate the heating plate when the single-serve adaptor is positioned on the base. 14. The coffee maker of claim 13, further comprising: a pump electrically coupled to the electronic controller, the pump being operable to advance fluid to the filter basket; anda user interface electrically coupled to the electronic controller, the user interface being operable to receive user input and generate an electrical output signal indicative thereof;wherein the memory device has stored therein a plurality of instructions which, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to prompt a user to select via the user interface a serving size from a plurality of serving sizes when the single-serve adaptor is positioned on the base, and operate the pump in accordance with a selected serving size.
