The wireless receiver includes a load configured to power the medical device using electrical power, and a second electromagnetic resonator adapted to be housed within the medical device and configured to be coupled to the load, at least one other electromagnetic resonator configured with the first electromagnetic resonator and the second electromagnetic resonator in an array of electromagnetic resonators to distribute power over an area, wherein the second electromagnetic resonator is configured to be wirelessly coupled to the array to provide resonant, non-radiative wireless power to the second electromagnetic resonator from the first electromagnetic resonator.

A medical device wireless power system, comprising: a power supply, the power supply configured to supply power at a rate sufficient to charge a rechargeable battery of a medical device;an array of electromagnetic resonators to couple with the power supply, the array comprising at least a first electromagnetic resonator having a mode with a resonant frequency ω1, an intrinsic loss rate Γ1, and a first Q-factor Q1=ω1 /2Γ1, the electromagnetic resonators of the array being placed in different positions and orientations to distribute power over an area and to accommodate positional and rotational uncertainty of the rechargeable battery, including at least one of the electromagnetic resonators of the array being placed such that its dipole moment is perpendicular to that of another of the electromagnetic resonators of the array;an enclosure for the rechargeable battery; andcontrol circuitry configured to charge the rechargeable battery, while in the enclosure, using non-radiative wireless power transfer via the array of electromagnetic resonators and a second electromagnetic resonator associated with the rechargeable battery having a mode with a resonant frequency ω2, an intrinsic loss rate Γ2, and a second Q-factor Q2=ω2/2Γ2;wherein the square root of the product of the respective Q factors is greater than 100. 2. A medical device wireless power system comprising: a power supply, the power supply configured to supply power at a rate sufficient to charge a rechargeable battery of a medical device;an array of electromagnetic resonators to couple with the power supply, the array comprising at least a first electromagnetic resonator having a mode with a resonant frequency ω1, an intrinsic loss rate Γ1 , and a first Q-factor Q1=ω1/2Γ1, the electromagnetic resonators of the array being placed in different positions and orientations to distribute power over an area and to accommodate positional and rotational uncertainty of the rechargeable battery, including at least one of the electromagnetic resonators of the array being placed such that its dipole moment is perpendicular to that of another of the electromagnetic resonators of the array;an enclosure for the rechargeable battery; andcontrol circuitry configured to charge the rechargeable battery, while in the enclosure, using non-radiative wireless power transfer via the array of electromagnetic resonators and a second electromagnetic resonator associated with the rechargeable battery having a mode with a resonant frequency ω2, an intrinsic loss rate Γ2, and a second Q-factor Q2=ω2/2Γ2;wherein the square root of the product of the respective Q factors is greater than 100;wherein the electromagnetic resonators of the array comprise at least three electromagnetic resonators including an electromagnetic resonator with its dipole moment aligned parallel to an x-axis, an electromagnetic resonator with its dipole moment aligned parallel to a y-axis, and an electromagnetic resonator with its dipole moment aligned parallel to a z-axis. 3. The wireless power system of claim 2, wherein the array of electromagnetic resonators is associated with a medical cart. 4. The wireless power system of claim 2, wherein the array includes electromagnetic resonators of varying size. 5. The wireless power system of claim 2, wherein the array is arranged in a surgical environment. 6. The wireless power system of claim 2, wherein the array is arranged in proximity to a patient. 7. The wireless power system of claim 1, wherein the rechargeable battery of the medical device is sterilizable. 8. The wireless power system of claim 7, wherein the enclosure is configured to hold the medical device with the rechargeable battery and the second electromagnetic resonator integrated into the medical device. 9. The wireless power system of claim 8, wherein the medical device is a hearing aid. 10. The wireless power system of claim 9, wherein the enclosure is a hearing aid box that allows recharging of the hearing aid while the hearing aid is being sterilized. 11. The wireless power system of claim 8, wherein the second electromagnetic resonator has an associated temperature sensor, and the control circuitry is configured to heat the medical device via the second electromagnetic resonator while charging the rechargeable battery of the medical device. 12. The wireless power system of claim 7, wherein the control circuitry is configured to charge a battery via more than one second electromagnetic resonator. 13. The wireless power system of claim 7, wherein the enclosure is a bag. 14. The wireless power system of claim 7, wherein the enclosure is a sleeve. 15. The wireless power system of claim 7, wherein the enclosure comprises polytetrafluoroethylene. 16. The wireless power system of claim 7, wherein the control circuitry is configured to trickle charge the rechargeable battery. 17. The wireless power system of claim 7, wherein the control circuitry has a first portion associated with the array of resonators and a second portion associated with the second electromagnetic resonator, wherein the first portion comprises wireless communication circuitry, and the second portions comprises: power circuitry configured to convert AC current induced in the second electromagnetic resonator to DC current to charge the rechargeable battery;wireless communication circuitry to communicate with the wireless communication circuitry of the first portion; andmonitoring circuitry configured to send and receive messages to and from a system monitor. 18. The wireless power system of claim 7, wherein the rechargeable battery is configured for use in a hearing aid, a patient monitor, a surgical tool, or moveable medical equipment. 19. The wireless power system of claim 7, wherein the second electromagnetic resonator is resonant at an ISM (Industrial, Scientific and Medical) frequency.
