A first aid systems for an ultra compact first-aid pouch configured to fit behind the ballistic plates of a protective vest are disclosed. In this configuration, the first-aid kit is protected from shrapnel and tearing, is easily locatable and removable and does not effect the user's freedom of movement. When the first-aid pouch is removed from its protected location, it presents the first-aid equipment in a logical and easily viewable manner.

A first-aid system comprising: a protective vest including a pocket to be worn by a user,a first ballistic plate,anda first pouch including first-aid equipment, wherein the first pouch including first-aid equipment, is composed of malleable material capable of being vacuum sealed, is less than about 1 inch in thickness, and is shaped to fit entirely behind the first ballistic plate,and wherein the first pouch and the first ballistic plate are located in the pocket and the first pouch is located between the first ballistic plate and the user. 2. The first-aid system of claim 1, wherein the protective vest contains an internal surface and an external surface, the external surface comprising the pocket for locating the first ballistic plate and the first pouch. 3. The first-aid system of claim 1, wherein the protective vest comprising an internal surface and an external surface, the internal surface comprising the pocket for locating the first ballistic plate and the first pouch including first-aid equipment. 4. The first-aid system of claim 1, further comprising a second pouch including first-aid equipment and a second ballistic plate wherein the second pouch including first-aid equipment is located between the user and the second ballistic plate. 5. The first aid system of claim 1 comprising a second ballistic protective layer of soft armor. 6. A first-aid system comprising: a protective vest, including a plurality of pockets, to be worn by a user,a first ballistic plate; anda first pouch including first-aid equipment, wherein the protective vest comprises an internal surface and an external surface,wherein the first pouch is located on the internal surface of the protective vest and is retained in place by a connector and one of the plurality of pockets is located on the external surface and houses the first ballistic plate,and wherein the first pouch on the internal surface is positioned to be aligned with, and completely behind, the pocket for the first ballistic plate housing the first ballistic plate on the external surface. 7. The first-aid system of claim 1 further comprising a layer of soft armor, wherein the first pouch including first-aid equipment is located between the ballistic plate and the layer of soft armor. 8. The first-aid system of claim 1, wherein the protective vest is made of an aramid fiber. 9. The first-aid system of claim 6 where the first pouch including first-aid equipment, is composed of malleable material capable of being vacuum sealed and is less than about 1 inch in thickness, and is shaped to fit entirely behind the first ballistic plate. 10. The first-aid system of claim 1, wherein the first pouch for holding first-aid equipment is between about 0.2 and 0.4 inches in thickness. 11. The first-aid system of claim 1, wherein the malleable material is a reflective material. 12. The first-aid system of claim 1, wherein the malleable material is at least one of plastic, polyethylene, polypropylene, latex or rubber. 13. The first-aid system of claim 1, wherein the first pouch including first-aid equipment is releasably connected to the protective vest. 14. The first-aid system of claim 2, wherein the first pouch including first-aid equipment is releasably connected to the internal side of the protective vest. 15. The first-aid system of claim 1, wherein the first pouch including first-aid equipment contains a tear away strip. 16. The first-aid system of claim 1, wherein the first pouch including first-aid equipment contains a handle. 17. The first-aid system of claim 1, wherein the first pouch including first-aid equipment contains a rip cord. 18. A low profile first-aid kit for emergency medical treatment comprising: a sealable pouch,anda plurality of first-aid items, where the sealable pouch is composed of malleable material capable of being vacuum sealed and is less than about 1 inch in thickness when the plurality of first-aid items are sealed in the pouch,and wherein the low profile first-aid kit is shaped to fit entirely behind a first ballistic plate worn in a vest by a user. 19. The low profile first-aid kit of claim 18, wherein the sealable pouch is between about 0.2 and 0.4 inches in thickness. 20. The low profile first-aid kit of claim 18, wherein the plurality of first-aid items are arranged in a prioritized order. 21. The low profile first-aid kit of claim 20, wherein the prioritized order is based on order of use. 22. The low profile first-aid kit of claim 18, where the plurality of first-aid items are detachably secured to a base. 23. The low profile first-aid kit of claim 18, wherein the malleable material is a reflective material. 24. The first-aid system of claim 18, wherein the malleable material is at least one of plastic, polyethylene, polypropylene, latex or rubber. 25. The low profile first-aid kit of claim 18, further comprising a handle and a tear away strip. 26. A low profile first-aid kit of claim 18 wherein the first pouch contains a rip cord. 27. A low profile first-aid kit of claim 22, wherein the base comprises the same material as the sealable pouch. 28. A low profile first-aid kit of claim 22, wherein the base is malleable. 29. The first-aid system of claim 1, wherein the thickness of the first pouch is between 0.2 and 0.4 inches.
