The product dispensing system of claim 7, wherein the at least one slot is provided within one of an annular riser and a sidewall of the annular ring. 10. The product dispensing system of claim 1, wherein the locking element includes at least one opening extending therethrough. 11. The product dispensing system of claim 10, wherein the resilient member is in a locked state when at least a portion of the resilient member extends through the at least one opening in the locking element and the at least one slot in an annular ring. 12. The product dispensing system of claim 10, wherein the resilient member is in a non-locked state when at least a portion of the resilient member does not extend into the at least one slot. 13. The product dispensing system of claim 1, wherein the bracket further includes a rib on an outer surface thereof. 14. The product dispensing system of claim 13, wherein the locking element includes at least one post on a side thereof adapted to interact with the at least one rib to properly orient the bracket. 15. The product dispensing system of claim 13, wherein the locking element includes at least one stop member. 16. The product dispensing system of claim 15, wherein the rib is in engagement with the stop member in a locked state. 17. The product dispensing system of claim 1, further including a housing adapted to retain the container. 18. A product dispensing system, comprising: a container having a body with a product disposed therein, wherein a metering device is provided on the body;a bracket attached to the container, wherein the bracket includes at least one flange and at least one slot, and wherein the at least one flange extends radially outwardly toward the at least one slot; anda surface having a locking element extending therefrom adapted to interact with the bracket to retain the container. 19. The product dispensing system of claim 18, wherein the surface is a trigger in combination with a pump-type sprayer. 20. The product dispensing system of claim 18, wherein the surface is a cap. 21. The product dispensing system of claim 20, wherein the cap includes at least one opening. 22. The product dispensing system of claim 18, wherein the surface is an overcap having a solenoid valve assembly. 23. A method for attaching an overcap to a container, comprising the steps of: providing a container having a product disposed therein, wherein the container includes a bracket with a flange;providing an overcap having a locking element extending therefrom;providing a resilient member disposed within the locking element, wherein at least a portion of the resilient member has an elastic modulus of between about 1600 MPa to about 205000 MPa;positioning the flange within the locking element; androtating one of the overcap and the container to cause the flange to impinge upon the resilient member. 24. The method of claim 23, wherein the bracket includes a slot for receipt of a portion of the resilient member upon impingement of same by the flange. 25. The method of claim 23 further including the step of inserting the flange into the locking element through a gap disposed adjacent the resilient member. 26. The method of claim 23 further including the step of providing a guide member and a stop member on the locking element. 27. The method of claim 26 further including the step of providing a stabilizing rib on an exterior surface of the bracket. 28. The method of claim 27 further including the step of positioning the stabilizing rib of the bracket between the guide member and the stop member of the locking element prior to rotating one of the overcap and the container. 29. The method of claim 28 further including the step of rotating one of the overcap and the container until the stabilizing rib contacts the stop member. 30. An attachment mechanism, comprising: a locking element extending from a surface, wherein at least one opening extends through the locking element;a resilient member disposed within the locking element;a container having a product disposed therein, the product to be dispensed via the locking element; anda bracket disposed on the container, wherein the bracket includes a wall with at least one slot extending therein, and wherein the resilient member is adapted to extend through the opening of the locking element and the slot in the wall. 31. The attachment mechanism of claim 30, wherein the surface is an overcap. 32. The attachment mechanism of claim 30, wherein the surface is a trigger in combination with a pump-type sprayer. 33. The attachment mechanism of claim 30, wherein the surface is a housing. 34. The attachment mechanism of claim 33, wherein the container further includes a wick extending therefrom. 35. The attachment mechanism of claim 30, wherein the bracket further includes a flange extending therefrom. 36. The attachment mechanism of claim 35, wherein the resilient member is adapted to flex outwardly in response to contact with the flange. 37. An attachment mechanism, comprising: a locking element extending from a first surface, wherein the locking element includes an opening in a sidewall thereof, an orifice to receive a portion of a container, and a resilient member disposed therein;a bracket extending from a second surface, wherein the bracket includes a slot therein; anda flange extending therefrom, wherein the first and second surfaces are lockingly engaged when the resilient member of the locking element is disposed within the slot of the bracket. 38. The attachment mechanism of claim 37, wherein the first surface is an overcap and the second surface is a container. 39. The attachment mechanism of claim 37, wherein the locking element further includes a stop member and a guide post. 40. The attachment mechanism of claim 39, wherein the bracket further includes a stabilizing rib adapted to be disposed between the stop member and the guide post. 41. The attachment mechanism of claim 37, further comprising the container. 42. An attachment mechanism, comprising: an annular wall with at least one slot disposed therein;a pedestal provided interiorly of the annular wall, the pedestal connectable to a container having a product therein;at least one flange extending from the pedestal toward the annular wall;a locking element having a sidewall with an opening therein; anda resilient member disposed within the locking element. 43. The attachment mechanism of claim 42, wherein a space is formed between an exterior surface of the pedestal and an exterior surface of the annular wall. 44. The attachment mechanism of claim 43, wherein a medial wall extends between the pedestal and the annular wall. 45. The attachment mechanism of claim 43, wherein a portion of the locking element is disposed within the space and adjacent at least one of the exterior surface of the pedestal and the exterior surface of the annular wall. 46.
