An air purifier comprising: a frame;a fan unit supported by the frame; andan electrostatic precipitator including: a first strip having first and second opposing surfaces and first and second opposing edges, a first continuous conductive electrode layer along a portion of one of the first and second surfaces and directly adjacent to one of the first and second edges, anda second strip having first and second opposing surfaces and first and second opposing edges, a second continuous conductive electrode layer along one of the first and second surfaces and directly adjacent to one of the first and second edges,wherein the first and second strips are nested with one another, andwherein the one of the first and second edges of the first strip is opposed to the one of the first and second edges of the second strip. 2. The air purifier of claim 1 wherein the other of each of the first and second surfaces of the first and second strips is an insulative surface along the width thereof. 3. The air purifier of claim 1 wherein each of the first and second continuous conductive electrode layers include conductive ink. 4. The air purifier of claim 1 wherein each of the first and second strips is spiral shaped. 5. The air purifier of claim 1 wherein the width of the first continuous electrode layer and the width of the second continuous electrode layer are generally equal. 6. The air purifier of claim 1 wherein the first continuous electrode layer and the second continuous electrode layer are spaced apart by at least five times the width of one of the first and second continuous electrode layers, thereby reducing electrical interference between the strips. 7. The air purifier of claim 1 wherein the fan unit is downstream of the electrostatic precipitator. 8. An air purifier comprising: a frame;an electrostatic precipitator supported by the frame, the electrostatic precipitator configured to provide electrostatic forces to remove particles from air flowing through the air purifier, the electrostatic precipitator having: a first strip having a continuous conductive electrode layer along a surface of the strip and directly adjacent to an edge of the strip,a second strip nested with the first strip, the second strip having a continuous conductive electrode layer along a surface of the strip and directly adjacent to an edge of the strip, wherein the edge of the second strip is opposed to the edge of the first strip, anda plurality of combs, each comb having a support bar and teeth, the teeth configured to separate adjacent strips; anda fan unit supported by the frame and positioned downstream of the electrostatic precipitator, the fan unit configured to flow air through the air purifier. 9. The air purifier of claim 8 wherein the first continuous electrode layer and second continuous electrode layer are spaced apart by at least five times the width of one of the first and second continuous electrode layers. 10. The air purifier of claim 8 wherein each comb extends from an outer periphery of the precipitator to an intermediate region between the outer periphery and a center of the precipitator. 11. The air purifier of claim 8 wherein the electrostatic precipitator further includes: a central support core; anda second plurality of combs supported by the core and extending radially outwards from the core to the outer periphery of the precipitator.
