The partition of claim 1 wherein at least one of said supporting surfaces is positioned at a worksuface height of 65 cm to 62 cm from a bottom of said wall element. 5. The partition of claim 4 wherein at least one of said supporting surfaces is positioned at a counter height of 84 cm to 90 cm from a bottom of said wall element. 6. The partition of claim 4 wherein at least one of said supporting surfaces is positioned at a bench height of 45 to 55 cm from a bottom of said wall element. 7. The partition of claim 1 further comprising a holder inserted in one of said grooves. 8. The partition of claim 1 further comprising a power supply disposed in one of said grooves. 9. The partition of claim 8 further comprising a screen inserted in one of said grooves. 10. The partition of claim 9 further comprising an illuminating means connected to one of said steps. 11. The partition of claim 10 wherein said illuminating means comprises a lamp inserted in one of said grooves. 12. The partition of claim 1 further comprising a pair of said wall elements positioned end to end and coupled together with a connector. 13. The partition of claim 12 wherein said connector comprises a pair of pins inserted into said pair of wall elements. 14. The partition of claim 1 wherein said wall element is made of a rigid expanded foam. 15. The partition of claim 14 wherein said rigid expandable foam comprises an expanded polypropylene foam. 16. A partition system comprising: a plurality of adjacent wall elements comprising: at least a first wall element having two vertical contact surfaces oriented parallel to each other and intersecting first and second visible surfaces oriented parallel to each other, wherein the first visible surface runs continuously from a lower edge to an upper edge of the first wall element, and wherein the second visible surface comprises an offset visible surface having at least two visible subsurfaces connected by at least one step having a supporting surface;at least a second wall element having two vertical contact surfaces oriented at an angle (α) of 20° to 160° to each other and intersecting at least first and second visible surfaces, the first visible surface of the second wall element running continuously from a lower edge to an upper edge of the second wall element, and the second visible surface having at least one step with a supporting surface, and at least one visible subsurface connected to said at least one step, wherein adjacent first and second wall elements are arranged with one of the contact surfaces of each of the first and second wall elements abut each other; anda connector connecting the adjacent first and second wall elements. 17. The partition system of claim 16 further comprising a third wall element having three perpendicular contact surfaces, wherein the third wall element is arranged with at least one contact surface facing one of the contact surfaces of one of the first and second wall elements in a congruent relationship, wherein the third wall element is connected to the one of the first and second wall elements with a second connector. 18. The partition system of claim 16 further comprising a third wall element having four contact surfaces, each of the contact surfaces being perpendicular to adjacent contact surfaces, wherein the third wall element is arranged with at least one of the four contact surface facing one of the contact surfaces of one of the first and second wall elements in a congruent relationship, wherein the third wall element is connected to the one of the first and second wall elements with a second connector. 19. The partition system of claim 16 further comprising a third wall element having two perpendicular contact surfaces intersecting two visible surfaces, wherein each visible surface comprises at least one step with a supporting surface, and wherein the two contact surfaces are oriented in a mirror-rotated manner to each other with respect to a vertical mirror axis, wherein the third wall element is arranged with at least one contact surface facing one of the contact surfaces of one of the first and second wall elements in a congruent relationship, wherein the third wall element is connected to the one of the first and second wall elements with a second connector. 20. The partition system of claim 16 further comprising at least one furniture element configured as one of a seat element, a table element, a work table element, or a counter element, wherein the furniture element is supported on at least one of the first and second wall elements and extends laterally outwardly from the at least one of the first and second wall elements. 21. The partition system of claim 16 wherein the first wall element has a top surface connecting the contact surfaces, the top surface aligned parallel to a bottom surface, wherein the first visible surface of the first wall element and the upper visible subsurface of the first wall element are connected by the top surface. 22. The partition system of claim 16 wherein the first and second wall elements each have a core comprising a solid material formed from an expandable polystyrene (EPS) having a volume weight of approximately 20 kg/m3 to 70 kg/m3. 23. The partition system of claim 16 wherein the first and second wall elements each have a core comprising a solid material formed from expanded polypropylene (EPP) having a volume weight of approximately 20 kg/m3 to 70 kg/m3. 24. The partition system of claim 16 wherein at least one of the steps of one of the first and second wall elements has a groove opening vertically upward. 25. The partition system of claim 24 wherein at least one of the first and second wall elements comprises a first cable duct defined by an offset in a bottom surface of the wall element, wherein the offset is open with respect to the contact surfaces. 26. The partition system of claim 25 wherein the at least one of the first and second wall elements comprising the first cable duct further comprises at least one second cable duct extending from at least one of a top surface, one of the supporting surfaces or the groove into the first cable duct or to the bottom surface. 27. The partition system of claim 16 further comprising a floor rail system on which the first and second wall elements are guided, wherein the floor rail system comprises a plurality of guide elements fastened on a floor, wherein the guide elements each comprise at least one upstanding connector extending into a bottom of one of the first and second wall elements. 28. A partition system comprising: a plurality of adjacent wall elements comprising: at least a first wall element having two contact surfaces oriented parallel to each other and intersecting first and second visible surfaces oriented parallel to each other, wherein the first visible surface runs continuously from a lower edge to an upper edge of the first wall element, and wherein the second visible surface comprises an offset visible surface having at least two visible subsurfaces connected by at least one step having a supporting surface;at least a second wall element having two contact surfaces oriented at an angle (α) of 20° to 160° to each other and intersecting at least first and second visible surfaces, the first visible surface of the second wall element running continuously from a lower edge to an upper edge of the second wall element, and the second visible surface having at least one step with a supporting surface, and at least one visible subsurface connected to said at least one step, wherein adjacent first and second wall elements are arranged with one of the contact surfaces of each of the first and second wall elements facing each other in a congruent relationship;wherein the at least one step of the first wall element comprises a lowermost first step, a second step, a third step and a fourth step, wherein the first step of the first wall element lies at a bench height (a) of approximately 45 cm to 55 cm from the lower edge of the first wall element, wherein the second step lies at a work surface height (b) of approximately 65 cm to 72 cm from the lower edge of the first wall element, and wherein the third step lies at kitchen counter height (c) of approximately 84 cm to 90 cm from the lower edge of the first wall element, and wherein the fourth step, at which an uppermost visible subsurface intersects a top surface, lies at a counter height (d) of approximately 104 cm to 110 cm from the lower edge of the first wall element, wherein the first wall element below the lowermost, first step has a width (e) between a visible subsurface of the first step and the first visible surface of approximately 34 cm to 38 cm, wherein the first wall element between the first step and the second step has a width (f) between a visible subsurface of the second step and the first visible surface of approximately 23 cm to 28 cm, wherein the first wall element between the second step and the third step has a width (g) between a visible subsurface of the third step and the first visible surface of approximately 13 cm to 19 cm, and wherein the first wall element above the third step has a width (h) between the uppermost visible subsurface and the first visible surface of approximately 3 cm to 8 cm; anda connector connecting the adjacent first and second wall elements. 29. A partition system comprising: a plurality of adjacent wall elements comprising:at least a first wall element having two contact surfaces oriented parallel to each other and intersecting first and second visible surfaces oriented parallel to each other, wherein the first visible surface runs continuously from a lower edge to an upper edge of the first wall element, and wherein the second visible surface comprises an offset visible surface having at least two visible subsurfaces connected by at least one step having a supporting surface;at least a second wall element having two contact surfaces oriented at an angle (α) of 20° to 160° to each other and intersecting at least first and second visible surfaces, the first visible surface of the second wall element running continuously from a lower edge to an upper edge of the second wall element, and the second visible surface having at least one step with a supporting surface, and at least one visible subsurface connected to said at least one step, wherein adjacent first and second wall elements are arranged with one of the contact surfaces of each of the first and second wall elements facing each other in a congruent relationship;wherein the steps of the first and second wall elements each has a groove opening vertically upward; anda connector connecting the adjacent first and second wall elements, wherein the connector comprises two pins running parallel to each other, and wherein each of the first and second wall element has in a bottom surface and/or in the groove, at least one opening into which one of the pins is inserted, wherein the two pins are received in the openings of adjacent wall elements such that the connector holds the adjacent wall elements together with the contact surfaces thereof in contact. 30. The partition system of claim 29 wherein the connector further comprises a support and an adjustable foot, wherein the two pins extend from the support in a first direction, and wherein the adjustable foot extends from the support in a second direction opposed to the first direction. 31. A partition system comprising: a plurality of adjacent wall elements comprising:at least a first wall element having two contact surfaces oriented parallel to each other and intersecting first and second visible surfaces oriented parallel to each other, wherein the first visible surface runs continuously from a lower edge to an upper edge of the first wall element, and wherein the second visible surface comprises an offset visible surface having at least two visible subsurfaces connected by at least one step having a supporting surface;at least a second wall element having two contact surfaces oriented at an angle (α) of 20° to 160° to each other and intersecting at least first and second visible surfaces, the first visible surface of the second wall element running continuously from a lower edge to an upper edge of the second wall element, and the second visible surface having at least one step with a supporting surface, and at least one visible subsurface connected to said at least one step, wherein adjacent first and second wall elements are arranged with one of the contact surfaces of each of the first and second wall elements facing each other in a congruent relationship; and wherein the second wall element has a top surface connecting the contact surfaces, the top surface aligned parallel to a bottom surface, and wherein the first visible surface of the second wall element and the upper visible subsurface of the second wall element are connected by the top surface; anda connector connecting the adjacent first and second wall elements.
