One embodiment includes a method generating a report for a network operator, which may be implemented on a system, including tracking optimization efficiency for traffic in a wireless network, generating the report to be provided to the network operator based on the optimization efficiency and performing functions related to traffic optimization and management in the wireless network effectuating in traffic alleviation in the wireless network measured by the optimization frequency. The optimization efficiency can include efficiency information associated with different mobile applications and user-related information in a wireless network.

A method of providing a report to a mobile network operator by distributed aggregation of data, the method, comprising: tracking, by a client-side proxy on a mobile device, optimization efficiency for traffic at the mobile device;determining, by the client-side proxy on the mobile device, battery consumption data of the mobile device;wherein, the client-side proxy further performs functions related to battery consumption reduction at the mobile device also effectuating in traffic alleviation measured by the optimization efficiency,wherein the distributed aggregation of the data further includes data aggregated by a server-side proxy remote from the client-side proxy,wherein the server-side proxy and the client-side proxy are components of a distributed proxy and/or cache system; wherein, each individually or in conjunction performs traffic management and optimization functions. 2. The method of claim 1, wherein, the client-side proxy further performs functions related to traffic optimization and management in a wireless network. 3. The method of claim 1, wherein, the client-side proxy determines optimization efficiency information specific to individual applications on the mobile device. 4. The method of claim 1, wherein, the optimization efficiency and/or the battery consumption data of the mobile device is included in the report provided to the mobile network operator. 5. The method of claim 1, wherein, the optimization efficiency is determined from amount of data communicated. 6. The method of claim 1, wherein, the optimization efficiency is determined from, radio state changes. 7. The method of claim 1, wherein, the optimization efficiency is determined from radio connection time. 8. The method of claim 1, wherein, the optimization efficiency is determined from connections or signaling at the mobile device. 9. The method of claim 1, wherein, the traffic for which the optimization efficiency is tracked includes mobile network traffic and Wifi traffic. 10. The method of claim 9, wherein, the server-side proxy receives the data from the client-side proxy and generates the report to be provided to the mobile network operator. 11. The method of claim 9, wherein, the server-side proxy generates the report to be provided to the mobile network operator by aggregating data aggregated from client-side proxies of multiple mobile devices. 12. The method of claim 11, wherein, the server-side proxy determines statistical metrics using the data aggregated from the multiple mobile devices. 13. The method of claim 12, wherein, the statistical metrics includes, one or more of, trending information using information aggregated from the multiple mobile devices and ranking information using information aggregated from the multiple mobile devices. 14. The method of claim 11, wherein, the server-side proxy determines ranking information using information aggregated from the multiple mobile devices. 15. The method of claim 1, wherein, the client-side proxy is native to an operating system of the mobile device. 16. The method of claim 2, wherein, the traffic management and optimization functions include management of polling, caching, and/or user behavior tracking. 17. The method of claim 1, further comprising, providing the report to the mobile network operator; wherein, the report is automatically provided periodically or queried by the mobile network operator. 18. A system for generating a report for a mobile network operator by distributed aggregation of data, the system, comprising: a client-side proxy for tracking optimization efficiency for traffic in a wireless network;wherein, optimization efficiency includes optimization efficiency information associated with different mobile applications;means for, generating the report to be provided to the mobile network operator based on the optimization efficiency including the optimization efficiency information associated with different mobile applications;means for, performing functions related to traffic optimization and management in the wireless network effectuating in traffic alleviation in the wireless network measured by the optimization efficiencywherein the distributed aggregation of the data further includes data aggregated by a server-side proxy remote from the client-side proxy,wherein the server-side proxy and the client-side proxy are components of a distributed proxy and/or cache system; wherein, each individually or in conjunction performs traffic management and optimization functions. 19. The system of claim 18, further comprising, means for, performing functions related to battery consumption management at a mobile device on the wireless network. 20. The system of claim 18, further comprising, means for, determining, battery consumption of a mobile device on the wireless network. 21. The system of claim 18, wherein, the optimization efficiency is determined from one or more of, data traffic, signaling traffic, time connected for connections in the wireless network. 22. The system of claim 18, further comprising, means for, generating statistical data from the optimization efficiency for the wireless network. 23. The system of claim 18, further comprising, means for, generating statistical data from the optimization efficiency across multiple wireless networks serviced by multiple mobile network operators. 24. The system of claim 18, further comprising, means for, generating trending reports and/or ranking reports from the optimization efficiency.
