The cover of claim 2, further comprising one or more ferromagnetic stability elements disposed in the tray and positioned to attract, or be attracted by, one or more ferromagnetic stability elements disposed in the foldable flap to hold the foldable flap substantially planar when the foldable flap is in the open position, wherein the one or more ferromagnetic stability elements disposed in the foldable flap are positioned to attract, or be attracted by, each other when the foldable flap is in the stand position. 4. A cover for an electronic device, the cover comprising: a foldable flap configured to be coupled to the electronic device and to selectively cover a display of the electronic device, the foldable flap comprising: multiple substantially planar panels; andmultiple flap hinges, each flap hinge foldably coupling one panel of the multiple substantially planar panels to one other panel of the multiple substantially planar panels,wherein at least one flap hinge of the multiple flap hinges comprises a directional hinge, the directional hinge allowing panels foldably coupled by the directional hinge to fold relative to each other in a first direction and limits the panels coupled by the directional hinge from folding relative to each other in a second direction opposite the first direction. 5. The cover of claim 4, wherein the foldable flap comprises: a flexible outer surface;a flexible inner surface, andwherein the multiple substantially planar panels are interposed between the flexible inner surface and the flexible outer surface. 6. The cover of claim 5, wherein: the foldable flap has a central plane bisecting the substantially planar panels when the foldable flap is in a substantially planar condition, andthe directional hinges comprise the flexible inner surface and the flexible outer surface at gaps between adjacent ones of the substantially planar panels, in which the flexible inner surface and the flexible outer surface are disposed on a same side of the central plane. 7. The cover of claim 5, wherein the flexible outer surface and the flexible inner surface are joined together at a seam around at least a portion of the periphery of the foldable flap, wherein the seam extends at most 0.5 millimeters beyond an outer periphery of the substantially planar panels. 8. The cover of claim 4, wherein the foldable flap is movable between: a closed position, in which the foldable flap is substantially planar and covers the display of the electronic device;an open position, in which the foldable flap is substantially planar and lies substantially parallel and adjacent to a back of the electronic device; anda stand position, in which the foldable flap folds to form a stand to support the electronic device at an oblique angle relative to a support surface on which the cover is placed. 9. The cover of claim 8, further comprising one or more ferromagnetic stand elements disposed in the foldable flap and positioned to at least one of attract, or be attracted by, one or more ferromagnetic stand elements disposed in a back of the electronic device or a back cover of the cover when the foldable flap is in both the open position and the stand position. 10. The cover of claim 8, further comprising one or more ferromagnetic stability elements disposed in the foldable flap and positioned to at least one of attract, or be attracted by, one or more ferromagnetic stability elements disposed in the electronic device or a back cover of the cover to hold the foldable flap substantially planar when the foldable flap is in the open position, wherein the one or more ferromagnetic stability elements disposed in the foldable flap are positioned to at least one of attract, or be attracted by, each other when the foldable flap is in the stand position. 11. The cover of claim 4, further comprising a plurality of retention magnets disposed in the foldable flap, at least some of the plurality of magnets being magnetically shielded on one side. 12. The cover of claim 11, further comprising at least one activation magnet disposed in the foldable flap to activate a sensor in the electronic device, the at least one activation magnet being unshielded on the one side. 13. The cover of claim 4, further comprising a back cover including a tray having a receptacle in a front of the tray sized to receive the electronic device and having one or more retention mechanisms to retain the electronic device in the tray, the foldable flap being coupled to the back cover along at least part of one edge of the tray by a flexible hinge. 14. The cover of claim 13, further comprising a magnet disposed in the back cover to activate a sensor in the electronic device. 15. The cover of claim 4, wherein: the foldable flap is foldable to a stand position to support the electronic device at an oblique angle relative to a support surface on which the cover is placed, andthe foldable flap is configured in the stand position to reflect sound emitted from a back of the electronic device toward a front of the electronic device. 16. The cover of claim 1, wherein the directional hinge limits the panels coupled by the directional hinge from folding relative to each other in a second direction by binding the panels to prevent them from folding relative to each other in the second direction. 17. The cover of claim 19, wherein the one or more ferromagnetic stand elements disposed in the foldable flap and the one or more ferromagnetic stability elements disposed in the foldable flap are magnetically shielded on an inner side of the foldable flap, the inner side of the foldable flap being a side closest to the electronic device when the foldable flap is in the closed position. 21. The cover of claim 20, further comprising at least one activation magnet disposed in the foldable flap to activate a sensor in the electronic device, the at least one activation magnet being unshielded on the inner side of the foldable flap. 22. The cover of claim 17, further comprising a back cover including a tray having a receptacle in a front of the tray sized to receive the electronic device and having one or more retention mechanisms to retain the electronic device in the tray, the foldable flap being coupled to the back cover along at least part of one edge of the tray by a flexible hinge. 23. The cover of claim 22, further comprising at least one magnet disposed in the back cover to activate a sensor in the electronic device. 24.
