A surgical screw system in accordance with claim 5, wherein one of the connecting elements is in a form of an internally threaded section and the other of the connecting elements is in a form of a corresponding externally threaded section. 7. A surgical screw system in accordance with claim 5, wherein the first and the second connecting element comprise cooperating latching elements which are in mutual engagement in the guidance position and are mutually disengaged in the closure position. 8. A surgical screw system in accordance with claim 7, wherein one of the latching elements is in a form of a widened portion and the other of the latching elements is in a form of a hood or cap surrounding the widened portion. 9.
