The hydraulic control system of claim 1, wherein: the accumulator is configured to receive pressurized fluid from the motor when the pump supplies pressurized fluid to the motor; andthe accumulator is configured to receive pressurized fluid from the pump when the pump supplies pressurized fluid to the motor in excess of an amount required to drive the motor according to an operator request. 3. The hydraulic control system of claim 1, wherein the accumulator is configured to receive pressurized fluid from the motor during deceleration of the motor, and supply pressurized fluid to the motor during acceleration of the motor. 4. The hydraulic control system of claim 1, further including: a selector valve configured to regulate fluid flow between the accumulator and the first and second passages of the motor. 5. The hydraulic control system of claim 4, wherein: the selector valve is movable between a first position at which the first passage is fluidly connected to the accumulator, and a second position at which the second passage is fluidly connected to the accumulator; andthe selector valve is movable between the first and second position based on a pressure of fluid at the first and second passages. 6. The hydraulic control system of claim 4, wherein: the control valve includes: a first supply element associated with the first passage;a second supply element associated with the second passage; andeach of the first supply, first drain, second supply, and second drain elements is independently controlled to move between a flow-passing and a flow-blocking position. 7. The hydraulic control system of claim 4, further including at least one accumulator valve disposed between the first accumulator and the selector valve. 8. The hydraulic control system of claim 7, wherein the at least one accumulator valve includes: a discharge valve movable between a first position at which accumulated fluid from the accumulator is allowed to pass to the selector valve, and a second position at which fluid flow from the accumulator to the selector valve is inhibited; anda charge valve movable between a first position at which fluid from selector valve is allowed to pass to the accumulator, and a second position at which fluid flow from the selector valve to the accumulator is inhibited. 9. A machine, comprising: a frame;a boom connected to swing relative to the frame;a work tool operatively connected to the boom;a swing motor configured to swing the boom, the swing motor including a first passage and a second passage in fluid communication with opposing sides of an impeller, wherein fluid flow into the first passage and out of the second passage corresponds with rotation of the impeller in a first direction, and fluid flow into the second passage and out of the first passage corresponds with rotation of the impeller in a second direction opposite the first;a pump configured to pressurize fluid that drives the swing motor;a low-pressure tank configured to hold a supply of fluid;an accumulator configured to receive pressurized fluid discharged from the swing motor during deceleration of the swing motor, and supply pressurized fluid to the swing motor during acceleration of the swing motor;a makeup passage between the first and second passages of the swing motor, and at least a first makeup valve and a second makeup valve positioned in the makeup passage, and a low-pressure passage in fluid communication with the low-pressure tank and connected to the makeup passage in between the first and second makeup valves and configured to allow fluid to flow through at least one of said first and second makeup valves into at least one of said first and second passages from the low-pressure passage when the pressure in the at least one of said first and second passages is less than the pressure in the low-pressure passage;a control valve configured to regulate fluid flow from the pump to the swing motor, and from the swing motor to the low-pressure tank, the control valve including a third makeup valve in fluid communication with the first passage and a fourth makeup valve in fluid communication with the second passage, the third and fourth makeup valves each are connected in parallel to respective first and second drain elements, between a drain passage and the respective first and second passages, with the drain passage connected to the low-pressure tank;a selector valve configured to regulate fluid flow between the accumulator and the motor; andat least one accumulator valve disposed between the accumulator and the selector valve. 10. A method of controlling a machine, comprising: pressurizing a fluid with a pump;directing the pressurized fluid from the pump through a motor to drive the motor;accumulating at a first pressure fluid that has been discharged from the motor;selectively supplying fluid accumulated at the first pressure to the motor;draining fluid that has been discharged from the motor while selectively supplying fluid accumulated at the first pressure to the motor; andselectively supplying fluid to a position downstream of the pump through one or more of a plurality of makeup passages including a first makeup passage fluidly connected between a first conduit leading to one side of an impeller of the motor and a second conduit leading to an opposite side of the impeller of the motor, a second makeup passage connecting the first conduit to an outlet of a first chamber drain element configured for draining fluid from the one side of the impeller of the motor, and a third makeup passage connecting the second conduit to an outlet of a second chamber drain element configured for draining fluid from the opposite side of the impeller of the motor. 11. The method of claim 10, wherein: selectively supplying fluid accumulated at the first pressure occurs simultaneous with draining fluid that has been discharged from the motor during acceleration of the motor; anddirecting the pressurized fluid from the pump through the motor occurs simultaneous with accumulating at the first pressure fluid that has been discharged from the pump.
