1. A method, comprising: sampling analyte level with an analyte sensor in fluid contact with interstitial fluid under a skin surface, the analyte sensor powered with a power supply of sensor electronics operatively coupled to the analyte sensor;converting the sampled analyte level into data signals for data transmission, each data signal corresponding to sampled analyte level;incrementing a count associated with the data signals converted from the sampled analyte level for data transmission;storing the count and the data signals; andestimating a level of power in the power supply based on the count. 2. The method of claim 1, wherein the count is incremented by one. 3. The method of claim 1, further including generating a signal associated with the stored count. 4. The method of claim 3, further including outputting the generated signal. 5. The method of claim 4, wherein outputting the generated signal includes one or more of visually displaying the generated signal, audibly outputting the generated signal, or vibratorily outputting the generated signal. 6. The method of claim 1, further including transmitting the count with the data transmission. 7. The method of claim 6, wherein the count is transmitted periodically with the data transmission. 8. The method of claim 1, wherein estimating the power supply level includes estimating a consumed amount of power in the power supply or estimating a remaining life of the power supply. 9. The method of claim 1, further including activating the power supply to power the sensor. 10. The method of claim 9, wherein activating the power supply includes operatively coupling the power supply to the analyte sensor. 11. The method of claim 9, wherein activating the power supply transitions the sensor electronics from a sleep mode into an active operating state. 12. A data processing device, comprising: an analyte sensor in fluid contact with interstitial fluid under a skin surface configured to sample an analyte level in the interstitial fluid;a power supply operatively coupled to the analyte sensor and configure to power the analyte sensor;a counter;a data communication unit; anda data processing unit coupled to the data communication unit and the counter, the data processing unit configured to convert the sampled analyte level into data signals, each data signal corresponding to sampled analyte level, the data processing unit further configured to increment a count associated with the data signals converted from the sampled analyte level for transmission by the data communication unit, and to estimate a level of power in the power supply based on the count. 13. The device of claim 12, wherein the counter includes a nonvolatile memory unit or an EEPROM. 14. The device of claim 12, wherein the data communication unit includes an RF transceiver. 15. The device of claim 12, wherein the count stored in the counter is incremented by one with each data transmission by the data communication unit. 16. The device of claim 12, wherein the count stored in the counter is not erased when the power supply is disabled or in low power state. 17. The device of claim 12, further including an output section for outputting one or more signals associated with the count information. 18. The device of claim 17, wherein the output section includes one or more of a display unit, an audible output section, or a vibratory output section. 19. The device of claim 12, wherein the data processing unit is configured to estimate a consumed amount of power in the power supply or to estimate a remaining life of the power supply. 20. The device of claim 12, wherein the data processing unit is configured to activate the power supply to power the sensor. 21. The device of claim 20, wherein the data processing unit is configured to operatively couple the power supply to the analyte sensor to activate the power supply. 22. The device of claim 20, wherein the data processing unit is configured to transition the data processing unit from a sleep mode into an active operating state to activate the power supply.
