The cap of claim 2, where the dispensing opening and the detent element are separated by approximately 90 degrees with respect to a center of the top piece bottom surface. 5. The cap of claim 2, where the top piece and bottom assembly are configured such that relative rotation between them is restricted to approximately 90 degrees. 6. The cap of claim 2, where the bottom assembly is configured to be coupled to a container. 7. The cap of claim 6, where the bottom assembly and the top piece are configured with mating rail elements that facilitate their rotation relative to each other. 8. A container system comprising a bottle configured to hold a fluid, and a cap according to claim 1 coupled to the bottle. 12.
